Heritage Hill Senior Community – Reviews
January 2023
Rooms are dirty and smell, rude staff they argue in the halls and not quietly either, employees sitting on chairs in the hallway on their cellphones, employees talking on their phones in residents rooms, seen employees being rude and yelling at residents, the hallways seem to be a huge tripping hazard carpets are first off very dirty look like haven't been cleaned in a long time as far as tripping hazard the carpets are wrinkling up in alot of areas, they make it seem so great but alot of it seems like a huge act they put on when people are visiting

Heritage Hill provides everything that an older person might require. My mother, who is 99 years old, is safer and healthier than she was in her own home. She is happy and feels that this is her home now. She enjoys having breakfast and can have her favorite tea. When she turned 99 the staff gave her a lovely birthday party. She has her shower and gets her hair washed regularly, her nails trimmed and teeth brushed every day. The caregivers always make sure she has her medications. I can't be any happier than I am with the care my mom gets at Heritage Hill. And I can visit anytime I want which makes H.H. even better.

During my 3 years as the Receptionist at Heritage Hill Senior Community, I have gotten to witness first hand the level of care and commitment afforded to each resident, and how each resident and their family becomes an extension of our own. I would absolutely trust Heritage Hill with the care of a member of my own family. Well appointed rooms in a home-like atmosphere are coupled with freshly prepared meals and an activities program filled with something for everyone. The nursing staff is second to none, and every staff member is quick to go above and beyond to ensure that each resident's physical, social/emotional, nutritional, and spiritual needs are met in a clean, safe, and secure environment. Recently I was presented with a crossroads, and chose to continue my career with Heritage Hill Senior Community as their Business Office Manager and enjoy spending my days with our residents, their families, and our Care Team.

After joining the Heritage Hill team just a few short weeks ago as the Marketing Associate, I can already say with confidence that it is a fantastic place to work and live. The staff is extremely caring and greets each resident by name. Whether it’s neighborhood bingo, sit and be fit class, or the busy baker’s club, the residents are always up to something. I genuinely believe the staff have the resident’s best interest in mind and treat them like family. Highly recommend to anyone looking into assisted living or memory care!

Without Denise and Jody now it is not the same at all. They were the two my family and I interacted with most. Very nice and professional women. Now it is not as warm, not as friendly and when most of the staff are miserable that speaks allot. Frequent nursing and maintenance and kitchen staff turnover also says it all. Overworked, too few hands, never even met whomever replaced Denise and Lisa. Not sure if I will have family and friends consider this place. Sad because I was from Weatherly and returned and its just not the same for what residents pay for and are promised. Would encourage everyone to do your research and make your own observations before choosing this place.

I am very proud to be the Marketing Director at Heritage Hill. My grandmother resided at Heritage Hill for 5 years. I was always impressed by the high quality care that she received in a clean, comfortable home-like environment. Our team members are caring and compassionate.

I have visited Heritage Hill many times to see people very dear to me and they love it here. The atmosphere is inviting. As soon as you walk in the doors, you are greeted with many smiles from employees like Dan, Shannon, Michele, Julian, Tara, Alicia,April, and Ronnie to name a few, and also many pleasant faces of residents living there. The employees are very pleasant and ask "can I help you". Jody at the front desk is very helpful no matter what we needed. Denise (the executive director) door is always open and she is the first person you see when you walk in and the last person you see when you walk out of the building. She too, is always pleasant and willing to listen at any time. I have had loved ones at other facilities and you can never find an administrator, executive director anywhere. Their offices are usually hidden. Lisa Perla's door is always open too and if we ever needed anything she attended to it right away and always made sure things were taken care of. I would recommend this assisted living facility to EVERYONE without thinking twice.

My mother has been a resident for a number of years. I can say nothing but the best about Heritage Hill. The staff and administration are the most caring people at all times. I am there quite frequently to visit my mother and I have only seen residents treated with the utmost respect. Trust me, I did my homework in my mother's placement. I think this is one of the very best! They have at all times an "open door" policy to visit your loved ones. Never disappointed in any of my observations. I can not thank them enough in being "the wind beneath my wings" in the help and care provided for my mother! I love them all!

Alice Mamounes Karamanol · February 20, 2018 I have been volunteering at Heritage Hill Senior Community for about 12 years. I am a retired Registered, Board Certified Art Therapist. I volunteer there two times per week; on Wednesdays I hold an art class for residents, and on Sundays I play piano and guitar for the Sunday Devotional Service. I have been very involved in all aspects of the facility. I attend many activities and field trips in addition to my volunteering activities. I feel uniquely qualified to evaluate the facility. I have experienced other similar facilities in my own personal life; my mother spent considerable time in an assisted living home prior to her death. Heritage Hill surpasses others I have experienced in many ways. As a volunteer, I spend a lot of time there. Heritage Hill is clean, well kept and attractive. It is a facility that really cares for their residents, for their physical needs as well as their psychological needs. Each resident is cherished and respected for their individuality, and treated as such. I have attended community meetings where the residents are encouraged to voice their opinions freely. The employees of the facility are kind and caring, both to the residents and to the volunteers. I have always felt welcomed and appreciated, and I love being a volunteer there. Recently, I was asked by a professional organization I belong to, the Art Therapy Credentials Board, to write an article about what I am doing in my retirement. In the article, I wrote a section about my experience as a volunteer at Heritage Hill. I would like to include a section of that article for this evaluation' it will give those who read it "a window" into what I experience when I'm there. "In 2007 I retired from the Jersey City Schools, and my husband and I moved to a new retirement home in the Pennsylvania Poconos. Naturally, I missed my work, and my students, and I yearned for something that would fill that void. One day I visited an assisted living facility, Heritage Hill, with my friend Josephine Amoroso, who was a hospice worker. She mentioned that I was an Art Therapist, and Debbie Hauze, the Activity Director, overheard her. Debbie came up to us and asked if I would like to volunteer there. I have been volunteering there ever since that day. I work with the seniors, men and women, in art therapy one day a week; it is the highlight of my week. These dear folks are so eager to work with various art materials, and talk about their work, and their everyday activities and cares. We share stories from their past lives and their childhood memories. I look forward to seeing them each week, and they have become very precious to me, more friends than clients. Recently we did a tree project, and when it was completed, I took each finished tree, and talked about it. I told them that a tree is a symbol of the self. I explained how each tree was individual and unique, and represented the characteristics of its creator ... strong, flowing, playful, graceful or searching. They loved how the trees told me about who they were. I also use "music therapy" at Heritage Hill on Sundays, and volunteer as Music Director for their devotion services ... I play piano for hymns and guitar for praise choruses. My art therapy "students" sing along with me and worship God. I accompany my seniors on field trips, go to their parties, and celebrate holidays with them. I have become a part of their lives, and they have become an invaluable part of mine". As a senior citizen myself, the best compliment I can give Heritage Hill is that if the situation arose when I needed assistance in my daily living care, I would happily "check in" there myself.
