September 2024
My Abuela, Elvira Rivera, stayed and this is what she had to say: "I loved how clean the facility was, they changed my bed sheets and cleaned the rooms thoroughly. A few times though, they would have to be reminded as they would try to leave it for the next shift. The food was delicious and the kitchen staff were wonderful. Most of the nurses were nice and the occupational therapists were great, the exercises they had me do really helped me get back on my feet. Doctor O was phenomenal and attentive to my needs. My neighbor Alice, I just want to thank her for being wonderful, she was welcoming and gave me a tour of the facilities- especially the lounge which is where we spent most of our time having fun. We did bingo, karaoke, etc. Overall this was a decent place for me to stay and recuperate."

The facility is clean and well maintained but the staff at Stapeley are its best assets. The receptionist in Personal Care, the sales manager and coordinator, the nursing assistants, dining room team, and maintenance staff, all demonstrate competency, caring, and compassion. It was a difficult decision to move my mom to an assisted living facility but I'm glad I chose Stapeley.

My dad was just in the short term rehab and his stay was great. Food was very good. Thank for taking care of my dad!

In my all my years of being in the hospital this is the finest facility I have been in. The doctor, nursing, therapy and management has been wonderful and treat you with kindness and warmth making you feel like this is a family. All keeping with the principle of the Quaker model.

I wanted to share my recent experience when faced with a most challenging situation. My sister was a resident at Wesley Enhanced Living-Burholme and feeling quite at home. Families were notified in February, 2023 that the site was being sold. The next communication confirmed that the facility would be closing in mid-October, 2023. The Wesley Staff, from the Regional Director, the Business Office Coordinator, the Sales Coordinator, Personal Care Manager, Med Techs, (so many to thank), offered every service imaginable within a very short and tight timeline. All worked with us to find the "right fit" for my sister. We traveled to the various locations and were shown all possible options for my sister. In the end, we chose Stapeley, and thus far, we have not been disappointed. My sister's needs are being addressed, and she is feeling more and more at home. Thank you!

In January, my mother became a Personal Care resident at Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley. She moved to Stapeley from a high-end independent living facility, in large part to be closer to my husband and me. Though Stapeley is an older facility and not as fancy as the one she left, she (and we!) are finding the Stapeley community to be warmer, more welcoming and with more resident activities and higher participation levels than she experienced in her previous, far more expensive, independent living facility. Though she's only been at Stapeley a month, she has met so many interesting people from both Personal Care and Independent Living who repeatedly tell both my mother and me, "You are going to like it here!" Stapeley is clean, well-maintained and has a warm, home-like aesthetic. The Fireside dining room has very good food and a full and varied menu. Most of the staff we have encountered so far have worked at Stapeley for many years, and everyone has been kind and helpful. The nurses and on-staff doctor have been most attentive; we feel my mother is getting a high level of medical care. We feel grateful my mother has landed where she is. There is, indeed, a good vibe going on in Stapeley.
December 2022
My mom is currently in the rehab facility and I must say the nurses, aids, intake staff and everyone that we have come into contact with have been very pleasant and professional. My mom can be a tough cookie and she has had nothing but good things to say about the entire staff. Thank you all for all that you do for those in your care. I would have given them 5 stars but my mom doesn't like the food. However she is very picky and was raised with a family of chefs and great cooks.
December 2022
I am a mobile notary and performed a POA notarization and the facilities are very clean. Staff are personable and parking is available for guests.
October 2022
What a pity I am limited by these five stars but that's life. If I could add extra stars I could cite not only good words about the food or the housekeeping but about the community itself. I have never been part of a group that was so concerned about each of its members and how that one member relates to the others. In theory that should work out pretty often but how rarely does it? And in a world in which almost any pains are happily taken to assure our creature comforts. You have to be here to understand this but it is very real. I am made to feel comfortable even if I have asked a dumb question or spilled ravioli on the carpet. I'm home here.

I came to Stapeleyto heal from a fractured ankle. The care in the sub-acute was helpful and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable of my physical situation. They have a very good Physical/Occupation gym and very caring and encouraging PTs&OTs…I was told by my caregivers they would miss me when I moved to “Assisted Living”and the was touching. Assisted Living & Independent Living was a wonderful experience with a diverse community of some of the most wonderful and culturally and intellectual residents and I miss their conversations & friendships. When I need to move to a all inclusive care and independent living Stapeley Hall will be my number one choice. The management of the Assisted & Independent Living is quality and caring for the residents…meals are well prepare and served. The food staff is tops We are fortunate to have such a quality facility in the Germantown Area !! JD Mitchell Former temporary ( & Future) Stapeley resident. 11/-2021-02/2022

I am the daughter of a previous resident who went home to heaven in October of 2021. She was on the 3rd floor with the blessing of Kathy and her devoted workers as her caretakers. They always made me feel at home and confident my Mom was in good care. Patrick made it a easy transition and always was available to answer any ??s. And Ms Jeanette was my favorite desk clerk.l truly knew the favor of God was with us in choosing STAPELEY. She was then transferred to skilled nursing facility for a short time. The nurses and their assistant were very good to me and attentive to Mom. Shoutout to Gilbert,Ms Mary , the social worker Marie and the RN who recently retired. I can't say the same for the Clinical Managers. Too preoccupied to listen and ACT on patient's /family concerns. Yet overall my experience for my Mother was 4.5... P.S. I am a retired RN..

I chose WEL at Stapeley because I needed to move somewhere more accessible, where I could get some assistance with meals and housekeeping, where there would be people looking out for me. That said, I had other needs beyond the basics. Tone or atmosphere is really important. Friendliness, respect, courtesy, gratitude matter a lot to me — in how I see staff treating one another, in residents and staff interactions, and how we residents react to one another. WEL at Stapeley is outstanding in this regard. I wanted beautiful surroundings, delicious food, stimulating conversation, interesting opportunities for involvement and service. I wanted diversity in race, occupations, education, abilities and interests. I wanted a range of activities to choose from and opportunities to try new things as well as pursue lifelong passions. WEL at Stapeley does quite well in all these regards. Don't expect perfection. Communication could be better: newcomer information, news of cancellations, guidelines and procedures. Here's an illustration of a recent dissatisfaction and how it was addressed. One Sunday brunch some of the food was cold and I failed to attract the attention of my server to make a request. This I called to the attention of the dining room supervisor after the meal. I was listened to and treated with courtesy and respect. Next day the same supervisor and server waited on me. They were friendly and responsive. Food and service were very good. That works for me—I'm satisfied.

Fair care. Therapy is excellent. But who's running the place? Don't ask Jeff or Ken because you are just a number.
February 2021
I do not think this review page could hold enough words to express the extreme gratitude my family feels for the staff at Wesley. This facility has had a direct hand in literally saving the life of my 89 year old mother Mildred! She suffered an unexpected and catastrophic decline in quality of life as a result of the Covid quarantine last spring. One minute she was living independently, and after two falls in her home she was fighting to live. My brother and I faced a life altering decision to admit her to a nursing home for permanent residency. We were truly blessed with our decision to choose Stapely! This staff, in particular, Assistant Director of Nursing Regina A.Johnson, Social Worker Larry Conway, and Direct Care CNA Trina Jones have earned my familys profound respect and admiration for their professionalism and compassion in helping mom to regain joy in her life experience at this fine facility. To see this level of care, especially in these unparalleled difficult times is so comforting. Thank you all!!!!

I used to work in senior care, and no facility in the Delaware Valley can match Stapeley. I help my partner take care of her mother, and our lives are made easier and our minds put at ease knowing that she spends most of her time in the care of Stapeley. It truly feels like a community. Even when there are imperfect moments, there is clear, timely communication and a desire to make things better. Even after 3 years, I am still continually impressed by the care and concern shown towards my mother in law.
February 2021
My mom and stepdad just moved into Stapeley a few weeks ago, and I have been so relieved to have them near me in a beautiful apartment that they love. Patrick, the sales manager, went above and beyond to help them get settled, and they are loving the food, the light, the balconies, and the birds. The look forward to more events and getting to know the members of the community when COVID restrictions ease up, but theyve already met quite a number of people. Thank you Stapeley for making a home for them!
November 2020
Its been about a month since we moved my mother into the Stapeley facility of Wesley Enhanced Living and my siblings and I are a very pleased. Moms declining memory and other cognitive skills required a transition to a facility with expertise in memory care issues. The move from personal care at another Wesley residence to the Bridges unit at Stapeley was seamless. Patrick and his team helped my mom stay calm and eased her anxiety about moving to a new home. My mom has been much more active and is benefitting from a more structured daily routine. She even loves the food! Moms journey continues in a safe and caring environment.

We were nervous to send my grandmother anywhere for rehab after a hospital stay when she fell ill. We heard good things about stapeley Wesley enhanced living and decided we would send her there. We are happy that we did. She received great care. The staff was very friendly, and the food was not bad. All my grandmothers needs were met and they kept us informed. I would recommend this facility to others

My mother spent the last 4 years of her life at Stapeley. During that time, the nursing staff there cared for my mother with love and affection. Every time I would visit, I knew where to find my mother - she would be with the nurses and if she wasnt, they knew where she was. Stapeley might not have some of the amenities that the more expensive centers have, but I will always be grateful to the staff there for making it a home for my mother.

Wesley is absolutely a wonderful place for skilled nursing, rehabilitation as well as short and long term living.Application process with intake was expeditious and they went above and beyond for my father whose dementia had progressed to a level where he was unable to remain at home with under my care anymore.Nursing and support staff at Wesley are skilled, compassionate, accommodating, and fast. They work incredibly hard and act very patient with challenging residents. The grounds are gorgeous, the facilities are certainly adequate, and cleanliness is sufficient. Some light activities are offered throughout the day to stimulate residents.Staff are eager to incorporate family and loved ones into care plan and communicative about changes.Social work is incredibly helpful in the application process for long term care with low income individuals like my father. Theyre also not afraid to advocate for resident needs and accommodation with insurance. No nursing home is perfect, but this place is certainly an exceptional choice in Philly. I only wish staff were paid better, but thats an inherent problem in the nursing home care system in America. As someone who was beyond frightened to bring my father into any nursing home, Im delighted with Wesley at Stapeley.

I placed my best friend of fifty years, Steve, into Stapeley a little over a year ago. The last year of his life. I couldnt possibly say enough kind words of gratitude to the entire staff for their loving and professional care all year. Steve was very happy there. He had a beautiful assisted care apartment in which he was very happy. At any time I felt a need to contact the staff about anything, which was very seldom, it was immediately taken care of. To Ken, Jamie, Kathy, Jarrod, Jeanette and Mary his nurse when he was in hospice, and all the staff at Stapeley, I will always have a warm spot in my heart for you all for the way you made my friends last year a happy one. God bless you all,Dan Coyle

My mother in law was there short term doing rehab and she loved it. People are nice, therapists are proactive and good, and they are very personal from their tour to their care. It felt very much like a comforting home versus just being a number and trying to get you in and out. I highly suggest for anyone that needs a short term rehab to go to the Wesley.

My mom moved to personal care at Stapeley early this week after moving from independent living near Downingtown. I am relieved not only because of the close location to my house but because everyone has been overly accommodating. The staff has been amazing and the residents have been warm and welcoming. Jannett escorted her to the bathroom yesterday and has been so helpful with everything. This morning at breakfast, Brianna, who knew her dietary needs, had her plate all ready and brought it out to her. I was moved to tears thinking about how sweet she was.The nursing staff has been great and mom keeps telling me how nice they all are. She enjoyed the activities...especially the chair yoga and concert this week. I am so thankful for this wonderful place and for the terrific staff at such a difficult transitional time for both my mom and for me! Thank you Stapeley.

My mother was relocated to the Wesley from New York State. I have been pleased with her care. We are able to have dinning with her in another dining room on the weekends for brunch for a minimal charge. I find the staff supportive, and caring. There have been one or two concerns that are relative to a setting such as this, but has nothing to do with her personal care.I find the staff personal and caring. The activities department is

The staff at Stapeley have been so welcoming to my mother since the first day. She moved in on a Friday, and the maintenance staff person made sure her cable TV was all set up so that she would have some entertainment on her first weekend. We have continued to experience that level of care, with staff encouraging Mom to try different activities each day. The full-time chaplain is wonderful. Mom is really enjoying her new home at Stapeley.
June 2018
I am so pleased that we chose Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley for my dad! I have found the staff there to be concerned, caring and kind. No matter who you go to with a concern, they will assist you. If they cant answer your question, they will guide you to who can, and I have found this to be the case with everyone there-- not just the friendly people at the front desk or the nurse who oversees my fathers care; but the maintenance men, cleaning staff, and dining room servers will greet you with a smile and ask how they can help you. I watch them assist residents with this same respectful courtesy. This is huge for me, of course, because I want to be certain that my father will be treated with respect and dignity as he grows increasingly vulnerable and infirm. His room is lovely. He has windows that look out onto mature trees, freshly painted walls that have now his paintings hung on them, his own bathroom and lots of closet space. The room is quiet, kept clean by the staff, and is a haven for him with all his familiar things around him.he food is delicious. He is served three meals a day, and the food is varied with lots of choices. Good food is so important to health and happiness, and so this was also a big concern for me. If you ask my father how he feels about his new abode he will tell you, The food is delicious, the people are friendly, and my room is nice and quiet. I love to hear him state this because his peace of mind means everything to me.t is also refreshing to have his health issues overseen by the nursing staff there. A geriatric doctor makes visits to Stapeley, and a physical therapist comes to my fathers room to assist him with exercises, and a nurse dispenses his medication; so that I no longer have to worry about keeping up with all of these things for my fathers care. If he does have an appointment outside of Stapeley, they arrange transportation with professional drivers, and will provide an escort as well if I am unable to go with him. They have activities that are geared to engage the residents, volunteers that come to sing, play the piano or guitar, art classes, movie nights, and each day has an agenda that is listed in the halls. One day I came to visit and my father was having a check-up, then a sing-along, then on to lunch! I was amused that he was too busy to visit. I would highly recommend WEL at Stapeley to anyone who is considering it.

My mother moved into independent living three months ago from out of state. From the moment I first stepped into this facility for a visit, I have been impressed with the friendly, helpful, caring, and attentive staff at every level. The facilities are nice, there are plenty of activities, and the residents are friendly and welcoming. My mother loves it here and the transition to this stage of life has been easier because of the staff at Wesley. I have complete peace of mind that my mother and her well being are top priorities. Most importantly, I know I am not alone in caring for my mother.
