I visited a love one. Beautiful community. Executive Director Tim was so personable. I watched him interact with other residents and staff. My aunt has never had one complaint. She has lived there for over 3 years. .

Simpson House boasts beautiful architecture. Interiors are lovely. The grounds are a dream. Movie -worthy. However, basic courtesy on the part of some employees is sadly lacking. It can be very difficult to have concerns about this addressed or even believed. The disconnect between the charm of Simpson House and the negative conduct of some employees is stark. Thankfully, there are many good-hearted staffers here. Still, please make courtesy toward ALL , standard operating procedure. It can be done. Where there's a will, there's a way.

My mother was in the rehabilitation part . She was treated well. She ate and was credited for well. Her floor was clean and kept up. Food was good. I wanted to eat it. Unfortunately my mom passed about 2.months later. But I really appreciate her last few months. Partly tha is to the Simpson House!

There is a warmth and comfortable culture at Simpson House. The Olde Main building is so charming with its history.

This place is beautiful. And the meals are terrific but in short term rehabilitation, they should treat you much better.

My cousin stays here. She says some of the staff are mean to her and they ignore her and made her cry. She can't wait to get out of there. I would not recommend this place.

The staff were skilled professionals who were very kind and caring. The meals were nurturing, and my mother was satisfied with her menu selections. Her room and clothes were kept neat and clean. The clinical staff were accessible and responded to calls and other inquiries promptly. They managed her medications and administered them when they were required. I would have preferred more activities. There was a little too much television time,

So much that's positive. One area that must be improved is lighting and signage. First responders have a hard time finding the various buildings because almost nothing is in place to show them where to arrive. Even worse after dark. Please invest in our safety. Really off the grid. Beautiful and walkable grounds. Very nice community of good people. There are pros and cons to the "re-branding" of Simpson House. Unity and greater diversity in some of the organizations and systems will improve Simpson House for everyone. Remember the words of President Abraham Lincoln who was a friend of Bishop Simpson. "A house divided cannot stand".

When my wife and I were ready to sell our home, downsize, and move to a senior continuing care residence, we choose Simpson House. We liked that it had a Philadelphia cross-cultural feel and is located across the street from West Fairmount Park. Years before considering it for ourselves, Simpson House had shown love and care in providing for my father-in-law. Now that same 24-7 care is provided to us. We enjoy the community spirit here and the staff desire to serve us physically and emotionally. When COVID hit, Simpson House established protocol and protection to its residents that became a model for other facilities. It provides for us spiritually, too. Simpson House has a chaplain and Sunday worship services (As a retired minister, I even get to preach!). We wanted a place where we could happily spend the rest of our lives. Simpson House is it.

We moved into Independent Living 3 years ago. We're so glad to be part of a community, especially during COVID. Everyone is friendly and helpful. We could even bring our dog; my partner walks her all around the neighborhood, and everyone here at SH stops to pet her. They provide lots of activities, and are amenable to those the residents suggest.

Worst experience ever ... more about getting the buy in $ and monthly rent than providing services and programs for residents ... it's fine if you are independent but the moment you need help...that's the problem...I felt totally taken advantage of after deciding that my loved one would move to SH..the transition from empathetic and compassionate continum of care to focus on building and marketing high rent independent living units occurred rapidly ...

This place might have its flaws, it is a state nursing home. The employees do not get paid much but my God have they treated my mother like family. Most of them anyhow, some she does give the finger to when they walk away. Growing up my mother did not have friends, she made us, her children, her friends, then her grand children. This place treats her like she is a star. She is low maintence because she can not say much so that helps. My mothers main wish in life for so long was just to be left alone so if they are slow to get to her or do not jump right away that is ok with her. Can we talk about the renovations for a moment ? OMG. Listen, my mother did not work her whole life because of a sleep disorder she did not get the proper help for. She gets $600 a month from survivors benefits and this place now looks like a 5 star hotel. SHe has never stayed somewhere with beautiful new furniture and hardwood floors. I can not believe the transformation. All in all if your family member does not want someone to say "how high" when they say jump, if they are ok with things not always happening right when they want them to happen and if you can visit to make sure that you can be their voice this place is great. They really treat their patients like family-- sometimes a mother that they do not really get along with all the time but hey! It reminds them of home!!! I really enjoy that about the Simpson House. Shout out to Dee and Deb-Or-Ah and MIss Gloria and all the therapy staff. My mother loves you all and you have made me cry over and over with your kindness, thank you, really. Thank you
