I couldn’t be happier with any other care givers. They treated my father like he was their own. Andrea, the administrator, is amazing!!! I could go on and on, but I don’t know how much they allow you to post here. Bottom line, do not hesitate to hire Home Helpers Home Care.

Home Helpers is a warm, caring organization that puts its clients first. Even during this never-ending pandemic caregivers were assigned quickly. And the caregivers are experienced with the elderly population, so you know your loved ones are in good hands. Inquiries are addressed promptly and concisely. I highly recommend Home Helpers.

Home Helpers has been a blessing. I called to have assistance for my mom & from the start Andrea was there to guide me every step of the way. She was caring & knew exactly what my mom needed. Andrea even helped through my little meltdown. The aides that were assigned to my mom were very nice & caring. They never made my mom feel like she was a burden when she needed help. They treat my mom with respect. Special kudos to Faye who keeps my mom on her toes. If you are in need of home care for a loved one please give Home Helpers a call. You won’t regret it.

I had a great experience with Home Helpers Home Care last week. I had hip surgery at the Vincera Institute and Faye was there for me post surgery, making the beginning of the recovery process as easy and comfortable as possible. She especially made my transition from the hospital to the hotel extremely smooth and I couldn’t have had a more professional, kind, and attentive person by my side throughout the rest of the day. Thankful for her and the entire team!

Andrea, the Area Manager is AMAZING...a true professional. She quickly understood our needs and visited us with Vena, Director of Nursing to do the evaluation. The personal attention and reliable service was very much appreciated during a stressful time. Home Helpers Home Care is the Best!

My husband and I want to thank Home Helpers for their outstanding support and care for our dear friend DG and to share our experience in case others are in need of home care for a loved one. DG is one of our dearest friends who lost her husband and two children several years ago. She developed severe dementia over the last few years which progressed rapidly eventually requiring Home Helpers companions 24 hours a day. Andrea and the Home Helpers staff were outstanding in their efforts over 3 years to provide DG with consistent care, respect, and thoughtful consideration even under the most challenging circumstances as the disease progressed. We will always be deeply grateful for the support and care Home Helpers provided our dear friend and the peace of mind it gave us. Beverly and Sean Larkin

I am writing this review about Andrea Hawley If it was not for Andrea, my sister and I would not be able to finally feel that our Aunt is going to live the rest of her life in a very safe environment While working with Andrea preparing to get my aunt to accept home helper services, she always was looking outside the box at the big picture, understanding the environment my aunt will need to navagate through for the rest of her days and preparing those who will be working with my aunt with all the necessary information that they will need to work well with her allowing her to continue to feel she can be as independent as she wants to be all along having someone around her to make sure she does complete all her tasks safely and effectively. Andrea got to know our aunt in such a short time and was able to inform us about what was necessary for my aunt to age in place which is our goal. Andrea went way beyond the regular expectations to make my sister and I feel we can rely on the home helpers philly company and be able to step back and let others now do what we do not have the time to do anymore. I am very grateful to have spent the time with Andrea setting up the system to make sure my aunt will be provided with what is very necessary for her to continue to live the quality life she deserves Thank you Andrea!!

I had Andrea help me with getting care for a loved one. I can say with all honesty that she's the most caring and helpful person that I've had interactions with. She paid attention to all details and explained everything in a way that was easily understood. She provided a calmness that was needed during the process of getting care. Will definitely refer you guys to people!!!

Andrea Hawley is my Angel. She was with my mother the night before she passed and the morning of her passing. Andrea FT with me and my brother so we could talk to and see our mother. We didn't know it would be her last few hours...We had not seen our mother for more than 6 weeks prior, due to covid. Andrea was a blessing to us. We will never forget her kindness.

I highly recommend Home Helpers of Philly to anyone looking for home aid service or any type of assistance with a loved one. My experience has been outstanding from the moment I spoke to their Community Liaison, Andrea Hawley. She provided me with immediate help for my elderly parents and continues to be the most supportive person everyday since we hired Home Helpers. She genuinely cares and checks in on her clients making sure they are tended to by her aid service.

Home Helpers - we had great caregivers in a difficult time, a very responsive scheduling staff, BUT a significantly flawed intake process. The good stuff: We needed 24/7 care for our father who was a fall risk, and needed help with everyday basics. We paid the premium for 24/7 rather than live-in because he was up too many times at night, and it's not legal for a live-in to be disturbed that much. With a bit of juggling with scheduling and feedback, we settled on a fantastic team of experienced caregivers, each with their own strengths that we are blessed to have benefited from. We will be forever grateful to them for their kindness and caring for Dad in his last days. Eric was always positive and encouraging, and focused on what Dad could do vs. his limitations. Thomasina kept him so safe and made numerous extra suggestions to help with his medication and personal care. Tammi did a great job with Dad changing him at night, and Christina was sunny and could wring a smile out of him just by greeting him in the morning. Scheduling was ALWAYS very responsive either by phone or by email (I often got responses by email at 7:30PM at night, even when it wasn't urgent). They had some challenging call-outs during a weekend when our regular caregivers weren't available - and they always made sure we had *someone* there. Opportunities to shine: Scheduling took a bit to get in the groove, and we did have our hiccups - online system helped with visibility and we pointed out several gaps/issues. To their credit, they were not defensive in making the corrections, but I'd recommend they look at what contributes to them and eliminate the issues. Another opportunity for improvement (on the business side) is to get *either* the paperwork for the hours, or the phone scheduling, but doing both is a waste of time for both the caregiver and the client. Need to improve: Intake process (minus 2 stars). We chose this company because of their insistence on the importance of a nurse meeting and reviewing our father's case to ensure the right care plan was established. The nurse who insisted this assessment was required then proceeded to cancel the assessment and never re-scheduled it. The 2nd caregiver was *completely* inexperienced (literally, we were his first clients) and while a very sweet, motivated young man, was entirely unsuitable for a fall risk - which we'd been clear with the care coordinator from the beginning was one of the critical issues to address. To scheduling's credit, they fixed that ASAP, but indicated that SCHEDULING HAD NEVER BEEN TOLD HE WAS A FALL RISK. I take this as a serious flaw in the intake process. Another issue with intake - nowhere in the documentation given to us did it say that caregivers must be given a certain # of breaks. We had no issue with this, but hadn't set up anything formally with caretakers as they came in - most of the time the caregivers were watching TV with Dad, in between his food and bathroom breaks, and they seemed to eat / do their own thing as needed. After the first week, the care coordinator called up and aggressively berated my sister, saying that a caregiver reported that we hadn't "let them" take breaks. Well, no caretaker had asked us - and from then on we made sure that every caregiver knew this was fine & just let us know so we had coverage for Dad. And frankly, if you need to correct behavior of a client, I strongly recommend the care coordinator learn some more constructive ways to provide feedback. If we hadn't already established several caregivers we were comfortable with, we would have terminated our relationship with Home Helpers based on this interaction. Home Helpers, you need a corrective action plan for your care coordinator, and she alone is the reason I would have reservations in recommending your agency.

Very fine care provided for my brother and sister in law. The caregivers took a personal interest in them and communicated with me regularly regarding their wellbeing.
