The ease of touring the Independent living tower here with Milissa Geesey is outstandingly helpful. In the eight plus months that I've lived here, she has impressed me with the care and consideration she shows to each one of us. She even involves her family with providing delicious meals on special occasions and does her best to fulfill all of our suggestions for fun group outings and scenic drives. The staff and residents have been good to me. My apartment allows just the right amount of privacy and, best of all, my kitty is allowed to be here with me. Oak Hill Village has been a Godsend and, in my estimation, is well worth considering when we need encouragement and care as we age.

Giving three stars because of a mixed experience. Mom was there for several years moving from full skilled nursing to semi-independent care to memory care and back to semi independent care to independent living in the tower apartments back down stairs to the semi-independent care. These moves were mainly because her mental and physical conditions were ever changing. But a few things stood out to me. When Oak Hill was owned by Frey Village and Diakon Lutheran Ministries it was much better everything from food to activities to facility care to personnel working there. The nursing staff was better under Diakon and the "Help", being the "kids" that are there to look in on and assist the residents was much better under Diakon. Long story short, Mom passed away August of 2023, after a long battle with dementia and COPD and was 85 years old. I visited regularly at least weekly or more during mealtime etc. The food served was not impressive and the staff were not very attentive to the residents in the dining room for help with cutting their food or condiments etc. They were more interested in playing on their cell phones sitting int the corner of the room. The flip side to this coin was that under Frey Village and Diakon they were fantastic in helping to cover Mom's meds when she couldn't. The benevolence fund was critical for Mom. They were also so accommodating to her during her moves from section to section of the home. Overall I am mostly happy with her stay there but under the new Oak Hill (Non-Lutheran) ownership it has changed, Unless the food and staff are brought up to a better level of care, I probably wouldn't recommend this place.

Where do I start. My husband was placed in this facility specifically to receive intensive rehab services. He tested positive for COVID on March 8 and was discharged from the hospital to this facility on the 13th. Again, with the express purpose of intensive rehab to strengthen his legs. We arrived on a Thursday and did not see any staff for 3 hours. Fortunately, I had stopped to get my husband food on the way to the rehab. Because of COVID, he was unable to go to rehab, even if he wore a mask and had his rehab after everyone had finished. He had 15 minutes of "rehab" in his room from Friday until Tuesday. He went to use the toilet and the holder fell off the wall. His shower didn't work. No one could figure out how to work the TV and his room phone did not work. He was there 2 days before anyone told me I should bring him a towel and soap to wash up. The food was very unhealthy and disgusting. My husband eats very healthy and they brought him fish for dinner, which he cannot eat. I ended up bringing him fruit, yogurt, and granola bars so he could eat the food he is used to eating. I brought him dinner every night. He had a foley removed from his bladder on a Friday and the nurse was supposed to check his bladder with an ultrasound after it was removed to ensure his bladder emptied. On Saturday it had still not been checked. The nurse explained that the battery on the machine was dead, and she couldn't find the charger. I am appalled at how bad this facility is. The staff was nice enough but definitely understaffed. Everything was so disorganized. I only hope my husband doesn't get sicker by being in this facility.

Very big place appear to be clean enough but the whole first floor smells like poopy diapers. Observes the residents being fed some got wrong meals something didn't get silverware, the staff seemed lackadaisical.

I am extremely disappointed in the care of my parent. The bathroom constantly smells like urine. The closet door is constantly broken and off the hinge. No one makes sure that they drink enough water (the cup is always full and just sitting there. I would appreciate if a nurse could encourage drinking... Maybe a drinking game?). There aren't many activities that we noticed that my parent is involved in. The evening nurse barely spoke and wasn't friendly at all. I felt like I was bothering her when my parent needed something...not friendly at all. .Also, the phone coverage is almost non-existent when you call to speak to your loved one. It's been months since I actually had someone even answer the phone so that I could speak to my parent. This is really disappointing during the holidays. What a depressing place.

I was very impressed with the patient care update meeting for my client who is a patient at Frey village. The meeting included the patient, the treating physician, the finance person, the physical therapist, the care support person, and the family members of the patient. The meeting lasted nearly an hour and was extremely exhaustive and exploring the current condition of the patient and exploring all the options. The meeting concluded with alternative plans to follow depending upon decisions by insurers and the results of various tests. A very well run detailed meeting that thoroughly educated the patient and the family members and addressed all of the patient's concerns and that of the family.
