Update 8/2/26: Just over two years ago, we used the service A Place for Mom to find Juniper Village as a new residence for our mother, who has been suffering from dementia for years now. Finding a safe and comfortable place for a family member who does not recognize their need for assistance is not a simple or easy process. This situation was compounded by the death of a spouse. Juniper Village has been and continues to be that place for our family “ where we know our mother is safe and well cared for. As our mother’s ability to manage daily tasks and interactions continually diminishes, we are grateful for the constant 24-hour care and support of the entire staff at Juniper Village at Lebanon. I have managed to build a wonderful rapport with the administrative and nursing staff. They have worked with me to help me be supportive and best negotiate the challenges of working with a cognitively/memory-impaired loved one. The nurses have helped me get her ready for outings to different places and to make sure she has all of her needs met. The staff equally does all they can to keep her safe (e.g. like encouraging her to use her walker) and ensuring her privacy by not giving out information to non-family members. As her skills decline, and will continue to decline, Juniper’s staff has worked with our family to keep the right amount of care available to ensure her health and safety. Juniper plans lots of visits from therapy pets, which my mother enjoys. The team also plans lots of senior outings and takes the residents to different locations to eat out and shop. I am frequent visitor and take my mother out for different outings that put a smile on her face. We go to local favorites that include ice cream with a farm animal petting-zoo setting, crepes and teas, and local Mennonite restaurants. My mother’s room includes a large refrigerator and freezer, which allows us to bring treats and leftovers back from our outings. Residents can and do have phones in their rooms, both cell and room phones, if one chooses. We did this for a while, but my mom sadly reached the point where she did not recognize any of the people (friends) programmed into it. This was a hard moment, but one that Juniper has helped us negotiate as they work to keep her safe, healthy, and happy. There are activities planned to keep the residents engaged, and residents are encouraged to participate and develop social ties, but ultimately each person decides if they can and want to attend activities. We are relieved to have our family member safely settled at Juniper Village in Lebanon. Missy and Erin were, and continue to be, so helpful, knowledgeable, and empathetic in regard to the challenges involved in finding a place that is a good fit. The room, the staff, and the variety of activities have all been wonderful, and have provided social interactions and care she so desperately needed. We highly recommend Juniper Village.

My 87-year-old mother moved into this wonderful facility on Tuesday, May 12th, and the positive changes we have seen in her in such a short amount of time are nothing short of miraculous.From her very first day, the entire team went above and beyond to make her transition flawless. Karine, the Marketing Director, was amazing during the initial process, answering every question with so much patience and showing genuine warmth. The moment you step through the front doors, Erin at reception greets you with the brightest, most welcoming smile, instantly making the facility feel like home.The leadership here is top-tier, and it truly trickles down to every single level of care. Erin Garcia, the Facility Director, runs an exceptional community. Her dedication to the residents, her visibility on the floor, and her compassionate management style give our family total peace of mind.We also have to give a massive shoutout to Luis, the Head Chef! The dining program is fantastic, and Luis ensures that the food is not only highly nutritious but absolutely delicious. My mom looks forward to every single meal.We also want to give a huge thank you to the incredible maintenance staff. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the entire building spotless, safe, and running perfectly. Whenever my mom needs a quick fix in her room, they are there in a flash with a smile on their faces. Their hard work keeps the community beautiful and gives us complete peace of mind.The true magic, however, has been the impact on my mom’s physical health and emotional spirit:Physical Improvement: Thanks to the attentive, daily care from the wonderful caregivers, her physical condition has improved significantly. They are gentle, respectful, and so responsive to her needs.Social Engagement: The Activities Director and their team deserve a medal. Their thoughtful daily programs and gentle encouragement have completely brought my mom out of her shell.A Brighter Mood: She has become drastically more outgoing, highly engaged in community life, and her overall mood is incredibly positive. Erin Garcia was very disrespectful and condescending to our family as we transitioned our loved one from the hospital/SNF. There was no compassion from Erin whatsoever. Very upsetting dealing with her. The caregivers were decent, but a medical issue that was brought to the head nurses attention went in one ear and out the other, which caused our loved one to decline, go on hospice and eventually pass away. Very disappointing and unacceptable. Also my dad was always wet and we were paying extra for our loved 1 to be toileted every 2 hours. Was not happening. Mom was very upset with the amount of laundry she had to take back and forth. Dining Room staff excellent. Good food, great service, and very accommodating. Office staff not very friendly. Activities was fun and inviting. Please stay on top of your loved ones care, speak up always, ask questions and don't stop till you get the results you want.

While it wasn’t a good fit for my mother, I would feel totally comfortable sending my mom to a facility with such professional, kind, helpful and generous personnel. We traveled a happy road from our home of 41 years to Juniper Village. January had not thought about moving, but by May we were here. The Lord moves in mysterious ways, but always on time. We met with Missy from Juniper and liked what we heard and saw. With her help, we found a senior management company to helps us in everything needed to move. With the list of helpful hints, we found a realtor geared for seniors. Worries and fears vanished . We have been here about six months now. No regrets! We thought we would miss our old home. This is what we needed and could not be happier. The village is well maintained and neighbors are friendly. A lot of activities if you want or not. Cannot comment on the food, as we are in the independent area and still cook our own meals. If there are cons, we, have not found them yet! It is worth your time to come and investigate! I was in a wheelchair & lacked strength getting around. Thanks to therapy at Juniper I am now walking on a walker & no longer need the wheelchair. Our experience with Juniper and its wonderful staff has been excellent. Our 90 year old mother was hospitalized and the transfer to Juniper was tricky. Missy at Juniper handled it with ease. She not only did a great job coordinating everything with the hospital and medical equipment people, but is a great communicator too. Everyone at Juniper has been so nice and helpful. We couldn’t recommend Juniper more highly. We should also note that numerous others pointed us to Juniper too (including the EMTs who took her to the hospital!!). So far our mom is adjusting to her new home well (and is killing it at Bingo).

Recently had to try to find a place for my father very quickly. Missy and Jaron went above and beyond in trying to help me. Even working with me financially to make a move here possible, offering to speak with relatives, etc. Although the family member making the decisions for my father chose another facility, Missy still followed up to see how things were going. I was really impressed by what seemed like genuine care for getting my father in the right place and keeping him close to home. I hope when it is my time for needing a place to go, the people are as helpful as Missy and Jaron.

Our neighbors were showing signs of medical and memory issues and in need of an assisted living facility. The social worker at the rehab facility recommended Juniper Village. They had an opening and could accomdate the couple. We were plesently surprised by the continued kindness, cleanliness and overall welcoming environment in the community. Our neighbors are still in the mental process of transitioning to this new environment but they appreciate how kind and caring the staff has been. They are now in a safe environment where their daily needs are being met.

You've made the decision to find assisted living for someone you care alot about and know in your heart they need more help getting through this chapter of their life than you can give. NOW WHAT? At Juniper Communities, that question was answered very quickly. Our family friend has been there several weeks. From administration to nurses, therapists, dining room staff, receptionists, and maintenance staff, I found everyone to be immediately and competently focused on the person and their needs with kindness and experience while including the family in every step. While you would hope they would know everyone's name, they do and they also take the time to know the residents and speak to them in a way that makes them feel safe, happy and belonging in this extended family. Sure, every resident brings their own challenges, but staff are more than ready to help them along with a kind assist and plenty of patience. While an older adult can be quite picky at times, anyone who enjoys food would agree that Sarah and her staff bring good food to the table! I've had it, it's good. Juniper is a safe, clean and well cared for space for folks who need this kind of assistance. Kudos to the staff who make a haven like this possible! Cindy M.

I have never encountered as many wonderful people under one roof in my life. My elderly Aunt came to Juniper and I was worried. I was worried about her mental and physical health (she has memory issues and was recovering from a broken hip). I was worried she wouldn’t be treated with respect since she’s 97 with memory issues. But all of my fears and all of my concerns disappeared the moment I met the people at Juniper. I stop in almost daily to see how she’s doing and everyone, and I mean everyone, truly treats her the way I’d treat her if she could be home with me. She’s finally eating better, socializing, looking more vibrant, and recovering beautifully from surgery. I finally found people who will pay attention to her needs and see that those needs are met. They treat her like family. The best decision I could have ever made was to bring her to Juniper. I am forever grateful because she’s more than my aunt she’s more like my mother.

The facility is quite inviting, especially the individual entries to the apartments. All the outdoor grounds appeared well maintained, and the property had a very peaceful environment. I enjoyed my visit, and have placed Juniper Village on my "list of possibilities". One drawback is the lack of participation in any Medicaid functions, however, that seems to be the industry standard as I tour other facilities.

Toured the main building here with my 90-year-old mom while on our search for a personal care facility for her. Very impressed! Felt very welcome right away. Especially liked how they listened carefully to my mom and her wishes. Christine H., who is the director of community relations, was especially helpful and answered any and all questions we had without hesitation. She was very pleasant to work with and accommodating to our short time span in finding a place for Mom. In fact, everyone, even the residents, were friendly and welcoming. Warm and inviting lobby to relax in and bright cheerful flowering courtyard for strolling outside. Large windows in the rooms and community areas. Easy to walk around since it's all one level; no need for elevators, which my mom doesn't like anyway, plus safer if there would be an emergency situation that required leaving the building quickly. Large open dining room with cozy fireplace. Menu sounded delicious with multiple Pennsylvania Dutch fare, my mom's favorite considering she was born and lived most of her life in Lebanon. Pleasant location in the quiet countryside, yet still easy access to hospitals, pharmacies, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, and large popular stores such as Walmart and Giant Foods. Highly recommend!

The staff is very friendly and Christine Heibel was amazing in telling me everything I needed to know about the facility. I just loved living here, though briefly. Residents and staff are so kind, courteous and helpful. It's peaceful, bright, cheery, clean and very safe. Because of Covid19, activities have been suspended. Safety and the well-being of residents is the utmost priority. Whoever decides to reside here, whether in an apartment or at the assisted living facility, will be fortunate and happy they chose Juniper Village.
