Remember the saying looks can be deceiving. This was the case with my wife Joann. The facility from the outside is beautiful but inside is another story. Understaffed and no back up plans if something goes wrong. After paying (out of pocket) over $6,000.00 for a month we had to bring our own toilet paper. We were apologized to over and over again for situations that should not have happened. Just be careful!!

This place is not equipped to take care of people that need to be lifted with machines because they don’t have them available they want them girl to brake their back transferring those residents with there hand when it’s not enough staff to do that with at any given time they need to invest in hoyer lift and other materials to help with transfer of residence that can’t bare weight any more to help move them around

I want to start by saying that the staff are truly amazing, we put our loved one there in June 2025 and have opted to do a choice package that would save her some money in the long-term care , never thought that her stay would be short lived, due to unforeseen circumstances and she suddenly passed away 4 months into her stay. What upsets us is that the money put down was a very large sum and the staff tried to negotiate with upper Mgmt. to get us a refund even going to the VP of the Company who said no flat out no consideration on his part, how can a company consciously, keep that kind of money and not feel bad about it( five figures) so the rent was paid for a room for her for 2 years and she passes now they are double dipping and collecting money again on that said room. Very disappointed with the financial aspect of it, the care which is not cheap to any person who needs. I think some rules should be broken there is always a rare case that is not expected. I bet I don't get a reply from the owner or VP that' s how the rich get richer and we keep busting the grind total rip off, I just hope they can live with their selves.... I would like to personally thank Maria from Richland Woods to take the time to research our situation and they came to a resolution which we thought was very generous. Again, thank you all for taking such great care of our loved one while she was there.

My Mother In Law moved to Richland Woods 6 months ago. She was adamant that she wasn't going to move! I don't think we could have handled the move without the care and support of the Richland Woods Staff. I can't say enough for the Administration Staff that walked us through and guided us on a difficult transition from home to assisted living. Their patience, kindness, and knowledge are remarkable. They were there with us every step of the way. They helped my MIL get acquainted with her new lifestyle with caring smiles, gentle listening, and support. I have so much respect for the Health Care Team, the Nurses, Med Techs, and Aides. They always have a smile on their face. They are so kind and patient with every resident. I appreciate that when I have a question about my MIL I can reach out to them and they are ready to listen and help. They work tirelessly and still take the time to listen with understanding, no matter how busy they are. They really care about my MIL. She is not just a resident to them, she is someone they care about and they have her best interest at heart. Shout out to all the staff that cleans the residents rooms, does their laundry, and keeps Richland Woods a happy and comfortable place to be. We appreciate all you do! The Dining Hall Staff , wait staff and cooks are remarkable. They prepare delicious meals every day and serve them up with love, caring and patience. If my MIL doesn't like what is on the menu the staff is very helpful in helping my MIL choose food options that suit her. They also get to know the residents and get to know the residents likes and dislikes! So Caring! And the food is delicious! I can't forget the Activity Director! She is amazing! She brings joy to Richland Woods with her smile and happiness! She absolutely loves every single resident as if they were her own parents. She cares about the residents physical and mental health and plans activities accordingly. The activities are well thought out, fun, and interesting. There is something for everyone. Music, drumming, exercise, crafts, baking chocolate cakes or cookies, bingo, and field trips, and musical entertainment. Every season and holiday of the year is celebrated with beautiful decorations and activities. My MIL has made friends. She even plays rummy a few nights a week with some of her friends! My MIL is often found working on a puzzle in the activity room. She chats with everyone that walks by. Overall I believe my MIL is happier, more active, her mind is stimulated, she has good food and conversions , and she is safe should she need help at any hour of the day or night because of all the wonderful, caring people that work at Richland Woods.

Best place to have your parents, Can’t say enough about the care that they have provided for Dad and Mom over the 15 months they have been there. Dad unfortunately has passed and the care he received was second to none. All staff were very helpful in making his time there meaningful! Mom continues to reside there and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Great place for your loved one’s!!

I feel very lucky to live here. This community is very comfortable. Everyone has been very nice to me. I can't say anything bad about anybody or anything at Richland Woods.

My mom has been part of the Richland Woods by New Perspective Community for 6 months. She is thriving and our family could not be more satisfied or happier. Prior to this she was at a different personal care facility. There is just no comparison to the increased quality environment and care she currently is receiving. One highlight of this place is "fieldtrips" or appropriate everyday type outings that many people take for granted- such as going out for ice-cream, a drive to see fall foliage, a visit to thank the local fire department to deliver cookies or a men's outing at the local hot dog joint. Richland Woods also provides transportation to appointments for their community members Richland Woods has an amazing life engagement person. She has a variety of numerous activities that are engaging. She also uses the strengths and talents of the community members in ways that they can contribute and be a benefit everyone. The nursing staff is top notch. My mother has had reduced doctor visits and medical emergencies due to the knowledgeable and caring staff. Professionalism is top notch. The grounds are gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Residents are able to enjoy the well manicured outdoor areas. I would highly recommend this community.

My experiences at Richland Woods have mostly been inspiring and encouraging. Whether I was interacting with the staff or residents/families, I have most of the times had a positive experience. Even in challenging times when negativity was experienced, it was dealt with by leadership in a positive manner with the care of the residents and families being 1st priority. I highly recommend Richland Woods.

Wonderful! That's the word that comes to my mind, when I think of the care that mom receives from the staff. I know mom's in great hands. They know her, assist her and urge her along with kindness. It seems any member of staff that I've spoken to knows mom by her first name - big plus. Over the last month, a change had to be made for mom and Maria, Randi, Cheryl et al went at it with gusto. I was very pleased with their prompt actions and the results. I also appreciated Kareena for her actions. 5 GOLD STARS for all involved. PS: Nice touch with the recent letter outlining options residents can consider to mitigate cost.

Caring community best describes this facility. Staff knows everybody by name including family members. Everyday has multiple activities to choose from as well as restaurant quality food. Facility is bright, modern and clean.

Richland Woods has the absolute best staff. They are so caring and will do anything. They were all so helpful in caring for both parents and especially during dad's illness and passing. They have encouraged and supported mom in her transition. The activities and entertainment are wonderful. Mom is happy and so are we. This is an awesome place with an awesome staff. What a blessing!

I just want to thank all the wonderful amazing people at Richland Woods. They take such great care of my Mom and have helped in here complete recovery. My father is a resident at RW. The entire experience has been A+. The facility is clean, cheerful, and home-y. The staff are very kind, attentive, and treat the residents with the utmost respect. Communication with staff has been excellent. It is a great relief to our family knowing my father is being cared for so well.

My Mom has been at Richland Woods for about 2.5 years now. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. We cannot say enough positive things about the staff. They are friendly, caring and meet all of her needs. We can't walk up the hall with her without one of the staff stopping and hugging her. She often says how many nice people work there. Additionally, the administrative staff is amazing. They are always friendly, professional, and there when we have a question or need something. They can't be anymore accommodating then they are. We moved my Mom in for her own protection so that she would have someone around 24/7 in case she needed them and to get proper socialization. Both goals have been met. In the beginning, the staff encouraged her to socialize and attend their many events. She's done that and she is now living her best life. Thanks to everyone at Richland Woods.

The Richland Woods facility is beautifully kept! They have an amazing Administrative staff and nursing care services. The Activities Director provides creative and fun activities for the community members. I highly recommend this senior living community.

My mother Millie was a resident at Richland Woods for 5 years. They took excellent care of her. Prior to COVID - there were a lot of activities and parties. They decorate and celebrate everything- Veterans Day- St Patty's day, Valentines Day etc. I felt the staff really cared and their kindness and attention to her care was wonderful. I knew almost all the staff. They do not have a separate memory care unit. The pts with dementia are a part of the community like everyone else. She "aged in place"- and had dementia -that got really worse in the last year (2022). She started out patient (Windber) hospice in March 2022 when she could not longer walk safely. She peacefully died in her sleep in November. She never had a day in the hospital in the 5 years she lived there. With the help of hospice she didn't have to leave what had become her home. I am very happy with her care and feel blessed that my mom spent the end of her life in Richland Woods.
