A pleasant surprise when you walk in the door. Clean, pleasant and “homey” are the first words that come to mind when I think of my visits to Dunlevy Manor. Staff and residents are like one happy family. No corporate nonsense, just a nice privately owned and locally ran home for seniors. Staff have true compassion and work well together. Their homemade meals are a definite perk and a rare find in this setting.

Good atmosphere. Caring staff. My dad was only in there for a month. I was to get pro rated for second month but was charged for a full month. I left plenty of messages but no one ever returned my calls.

Current management leaves a lot to be desired, unprofessional. My mother arrived from rehab shortly after the initial Covid 2020 lockdown so I can't fault the place for lack of activities but there are other issues. 1. Medications; at least twice they ran out of her meds, supposedly a doctor/pharmacy issue. 2. Lack of follow up on conditions that they knew patient was prone too; UTIs. Mom was put on antibiotics for her last one and 10 days later they assumed all was well. It wasn't but since no follow up labs were done immediately the UTI continued until it impacted her mentally again at which time she went on 10 days of a stronger antibiotics. In this situation, I was at the facility on a Saturday dropping things off and discussed mom's behavior with the Administrator who stated she was aware and had a urine sample taken the previous day, Friday. When I heard I heard nothing from the facility the following week I called the nurse who serviced mom and she told me it was too early since they had just taken the specimen the Tuesday after I spoke with the Administrator. Tendency at Dunlevy is to tell you what you want to hear since all is locked down and you can't see for yourself. I followed up with the servicing physician and nurse due to lack of information from the facility which set the Administrator off but changed nothing. Administrator has an attitude and it comes across to patients and families. Unfortunately this attitude has spread to some staff members and was verified on our final day there as I overheard nasty comments from woman on duty while I was taking my mother to the wheelchair van.
