My mother has been at the rehab in the Inn and has had a wonderful experience. The staff is so friendly and concerned. They have individualized and tailored her rehab to her particular situation. Facility is very clean. Discharge planning has been fantastic. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience she has had.

I’ve been an entertainer, performing live musical performances at Freedom Village since 2014. It’s always enjoyable. The activities staff are a pleasure, and they go the extra mile to be certain the residents have a great experience. I come away feeling like it was very worthwhile, and it does my heart good. Of the hundreds of facilities I’ve worked for, Freedom Village is among the top 5%, in my humble opinion.

My parents moved to independent living in 2001. After my father passed away in 2011, my mother stayed there until moving to the Gardens assisted living in 2017 and then to memory care in 2020 until her passing in January 2023. It was a great community for them, providing a rich social life and later needed care. I will always have fond memories of their time at FVB.

My father was recently moved to memory care from independent living. His dementia became too advanced for my mom to continue being his sole caregiver. It was a very difficult time, knowing he would no longer live with my mom. There were questions, would he transition, will he be well taken care of, will my mom be ok? All of the staff and the Freedom Village community were overwhelmingly kind. Especially Laura, Jennifer and Hilary who went beyond their duties to help us in memory care. The support, guidance, advice and overall love they gave me, my mom and especially my dad was amazing! They treat us as family and that comforts me when I think about my dad. I can’t say thank you enough to Freedom Village and all of the staff!

Freedom Village is a fantastic place to work and live! My grandmother has lived here for over 10 years and our experiences have been so wonderful that I sought out and got a job here! Everyone is incredibly friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. I truly can't imagine a better place to work or for my grandmother to live.

In early October 2021, my mom relocated to The Gardens at Freedom Village. For many reasons—dementia, resistance to moving, and leaving her home of over 50 years—we expected Mom’s move to be challenging. The entire staff, from sales to administration to nursing, worked with us to create a transition plan covering everything: a clear, straightforward contract, quick turnaround when a room became available, hanging photos and window treatments to personalize Mom’s room, and creating a way to receive Mom on her terms on move-in day. While it is never easy to move a loved one to personal care, Mom’s reaction to the move and her adjustment to life at The Gardens at Freedom Village were much better than we had hoped—all because of the care demonstrated by each member of the staff. Now, Mom is part of a caring community, and her room feels like it belongs to her. As a family, we are incredibly happy to see Mom interacting with the staff and residents—not living alone any more. Within her first week as a resident, Mom was seen onsite by her new physician, and we received an introductory call from him to review Mom’s health and medical history. Flu shots and COVID boosters were administered onsite, and the staff also accompanied Mom to a routine medical exam. Day-to-day, Mom needs varying support with basic activities, and the staff helps her to select clothing, schedule a haircut at the salon, or even choose menu items, all while preserving her independence and dignity. Socially, Mom enjoys the Walking Club and sharing her many family photos with the staff. We selected The Gardens at Freedom Village after visiting five local continuing care communities and working with Mom on the idea of moving for two-and one-half years. The Gardens at Freedom Village provided the best value for our family because we have peace of mind. Low employee turnover and well-maintained facilities, along with priority access to memory care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing services when needed, were important to us; however, the ongoing care and support provided by each member of the staff is truly what gives us comfort that Mom is receiving quality care—both now and in future months and years at Freedom Village.

We recently moved our parents into an assisted living apartment at Freedom Village. We toured many places and none came close to having the type of apartment living my parents were looking for. Besides the fact that their space was fully renovated before they moved in, their new 2 bedroom apartment is very spacious - easily accommodating their king size bed (many could not) as well as full bedroom suite. The living area is huge and gives them plenty of room for family gatherings. Laura was a true champ through this whole process as she navigated through almost daily questions from my parents, my eight siblings and numerous in-laws. They are enjoying meeting new friends and jumping in on many of the social activities. We have been very pleased all the way around.

We went through an extensive search of the best CCRC places within a 30 mile radius of our home. When Freedom Village came up, we first met with Nicki, who gave us a tour of the (rehab) area where Mom would first be located. Nicki listened to our concerns, and gave us a thorough tour. After that, she passed us off to her colleague, Laura, who was responsible for intake in the memory care section of the facility. Laura took a lot of time to show us the area and the accommodations that Mom would occupy, and she even introduced us to the woman who oversees that area, Lisa. We were impressed by the care and the time Lisa took with us to make us feel comfortable with this area. After about 3 weeks in Freedom Village, I have no complaints or concerns about the care that Mother is receiving. Every time we go visit her, she seems happy and content with her new surroundings. Each time I interact with the staff in the memory care area, I am impressed at just now engaged and attentive they are. So far, I have no reason to relocate Mother to another place. They are doing an outstanding job! If you are embarking upon the same type of journey as we (wife and me) were, I encourage you to visit this place. They will help you to feel a little less nervous and a lot more confident about your journey. UPDATE 14 Sept 2021, Lisa is no longer there, and we are waiting to see what kind of talent they can recruit. You should inquire about this particular change of staffing if you are starting out on your search for some good place for Mom or Dad. . Still, my wife and I are sticking with Freedom Village. Not a bad choice, in our eyes.

From the first day we met Laura Fanning in trying to set up my mother from Rehab Services to Assisted Living-Personal Care she has been wonderful to work with. Her knowledge, resourcefulness and compassion was outstanding. Initially, her follow up on providing me everything I needed for the application process, getting them moved in, and the room set up was a breeze. She helped to transfer Mom, she even helped getting Moms husband to be my Moms helper. He was set up and moved into the newly remodeled apartment. EVERYONE, from Nursing (Ali), Hospice (Celeste), to Maintenance in setting up the Apt, Food Service, nursing assistance around the clock (too many to names to mention), and facility services were all so friendly, caring and would do anything they could to solve a problem or help my Mom be comfortable. We are so fortunate to have found a facility that cared for our mother like she was their own family member? My family highly recommends that you talk to the staff of Freedom Village if you ever need their services. Anthony Celii

Update: Almost three years now. Continuing to love life here and still making new friends. Ive been volunteering with a local hospice which has taken me frequently into the nursing and memory-care sections. Im impressed by the high level of care they are giving the residents and patients. The new Executive Chef who arrived last year has improved many things in the dining scene (which was already pretty darn good before his arrival). Update: Here a year now and loving it still. We made many new friends - even a couple close friends. The amount of visibility residents have in the overall planning, organization, and operation of the place is wonderful. We had a lot of conflicted thoughts about going to a for-profit place. I think we made the right decision. I just wish the dining service was not so slow. Original review: My wife and I have been here for two months now. Its too early to provide a comprehensive review but here are a few highlights: -The investigation and buy-in process went extremely smoothly. At several other seniors places we looked at, the sales staff seemed like they were selling timeshares. No so here. We felt we were in charge and every question we had was fully addressed. -Move-in was a bit rocky but that was 90% third-party movers and unpackers. -Condo is roomy with lots of windows but with only one ceiling fixture in four rooms, we need lots and lots of lamps. -Access to events and places such as gym and dining is quite convenient. We do not need moving-around things but residents with walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters seem to be having no difficulties. -Food... well, if it were a restaurant, Id give it four stars for food and five for staff. That said, every once in a while the lag between ordering and food delivery is excessive. -Staff are just plain wonderful. They remembered our names from early on. They remember our preferences and our food restrictions. This is getting long so Ill just add that a primary reason for our selecting this place was in the hope of making new friends. We found success there from the first day on.

Placing a loved one in a long term care facility is never an easy choice but I know we made the right choice placing our grandad at Freedom Village. The nurses and aids treat him with dignity and respect and he even loves the food! He has made friends and enjoys participating in Bingo and other games with Devan. We are thrilled with our choice and can sleep at night now knowing he is being watched over so that we do not have to stress sand can visit for quality time.

My family has had a wonderful, caring experience with Freedom Village. My mother is in their long term care unit in a beautiful room with an outside view of the Village Green. The staff is caring, friendly, approachable, and talented. My mother is able to attend Drs. appointments with a companion when we are not able to go with her due to our schedules, and they also arrange the transportation which is extremely helpful. The facility itself is so lovely and we enjoy the dining rooms and the opportunity to give her a change of scenery while walking through the greenhouse and the absolutely beautiful lobby. We also can visit a library. When my siblings visited from out of town we were able to arrange a meeting with the head nurse, social worker, physical therapist and dietitian at a moments notice and were very grateful for the accommodation. I would most highly recommend Freedom Village to anyone searching for an excellent facility. This is it!

Large continuing care senior living community with a large number of independent living apartments and garden style units. Lots of storage space within each individual unit (most I saw in any of the similar communities visited). Assisted living and alzheimer's areas of the facilities connected to main building by indoor walkway. Swimming pool and hot tub available almost 24/7 inside main living area. Gym, multiple dining rooms, library, beauty parlor, wood shop, game room, billiards room, business center, auditorium, garden for residents, small crafts room. Very friendly and helpful staff and residents. Fairly casual lifestyle with some dress code rules for dinner, but does not require jacket and tie. Monthly fee includes 30 meals per month, lunch or dinner. Generally good food, though currently would prefer more inspired vegetable preparation and more offerings of a lighter fare for entrees, though many seafood dishes are presented. Great soups and desserts. Many regularly scheduled performance events, movies and group trips.
