When my step grandfathers battle with cancer came to a close and he chose to be comfortable, he said I know where I want to go! take me to colonial courtyard! His case worker contacted them and within an hour, Heidi and Tonya were in his room, asking him what he needed and what they could do for him. They were so pleasant and willing to make accommodations even though we knew he was going to be on hospice and likely not stay there very long. They did not look at him as a terminal resident though, they were excited to have him become a member of the family there. They worked on getting everything ready and stayed in contact with the family. About two hours later, his health declined rapidly and we thought was not going to make it through the night. Heidi reached out and asked if there was anything we needed her to do for us at the hospital! She went above and beyond! She didn’t have to offer that, we didn’t think he would even leave the hospital, but she did, because she cared! And that generosity and compassion is rare, and we will forever be grateful for that! Thank you Heidi! In true fashion though, he pulled through and said I’m going to colonial! And he did that day! They had his room ready, hospice came in, and his stay there met every expectation and beyond. The staff was so amazing and caring! They worked hard to accommodate his every need and the needs of the family. I apologize that I can not call out everyone by name as I don’t want to leave anyone out that cared for him. But the care he received was top notch! I was there when he passed and the staff could not have been more caring and treated him with such great dignity. Thank you everyone at colonial courtyard. Even the residents are amazing! I had my daughter in there one afternoon and she is a little social butterfly! We visited everyone! She loved it so much and so did the residents, we even went back to the dementia ward and she put smiles on their faces! If you ever find yourself looking for placement for a loved one, look no further! This place is amazing and you will have peace of mind with no doubt they are cared for and loved to the fullest. I would give the establishment, the staff, and even the residents 20 stars if I could! Even the pet dog is the sweetest! Thank you all so much! We will never forget what you did for him and us! You’re truly the best!!

What a wonderful caring staff. We could not have asked for better care for our parents. The compassion and friendship they showed them was beyond what we expected. Always cheerful and upbeat. They all made us feel right at home. We highly recommend colonial courtyard!!!

My parents rather abruptly moved to Colonial Courtyard in mid-October after the whirlwind of my mother's injury resulting in hospital and rehab stays. No one was prepared for the sudden changes this type of life event produced and were concerned how our parents would adjust after 70 years together of independent living. Thanks in large part to the warm embrace of everyone I have encountered, I am happy to say they are enjoying their new home. From the administrator, Brandi, to the personnel who administer meds or help Mom with her hygiene, I have experienced friendliness, kindness, care and a genuine desire to serve. I haven't felt like my parents were just a job to them. I was delighted to learn of the Veterans Day program where my Dad was recognized for his service in Korea and thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas celebration dinner held recently. Brandi learned of my Dad's extensive t-shirt collection and volunteered to make him a quilt which you can see on the Colonial Courtyard Facebook page. This is not the kind of facility that gets the stereotype of our parents stuffed away in rooms waiting to die. My parents get weekly medical exams, blood pressure is monitored daily, medications are dispensed on schedule and there are plenty of activities in which the participate, including an age appropriate exercise program. Particular eater that he is, my Dad even likes the food! I am more relaxed than I have been in a number of years about the health, safety and comfort of my parents. Thank you to everyone at Colonial Courtyard.

I highly recommend Colonial Courtyard at Bedford! They're consistently supportive of the people within their care, just like you'd want them to be treating you, your family member or a friend. I haven't encountered a staff member who wasnt friendly. They're always finding ways to keep the group in great spirits and giving them life experiences they most likely wouldn't have anywhere else. They're truly living life to the fullest here at Colonial Courtyard at Bedford.

Going into an Assisted Living facility is a hard transition for families. My Dad moved to Colonial Courtyard a little over a year and a half ago. He had a hard time for awhile but as time went on it became home to him. He made new friends and reconnected with old friends while living there. The staff connected with Dad in conversations about motorcycles, music, and many other topics. They took great care of him. There is always an activity to participate in!! My Dad recently passed away and the staff was a wonderful support to myself and my sisters. I highly recommend Colonial Courtyard.

My mom and stepdad joined the Colonial Courtyard family in May 2025, it was a difficult decision but after these months it has be proven to be the right and best thing for mom and dad! The transition was a little bumpy, but it is with all of us, as we’re creatures of habit, but with the caring staff, the warm and comforting environment, everyone is happily adjusted now. Colonial Courtyard at Bedford offers a wonderful environment for my Grandmother in-law. The activities are engaging and diverse, making it easy for residents to stay active and entertained. The care provided is top-notch, with staff ensuring that residents look their best, always well-groomed and fresh. However, there are a few concerns worth noting: occasionally, nurses may be outside smoking during visits, which can make communication difficult. I know about the smoking because the care aids inform me that is where they are. This is typically the case when I visit around 6pm. While someone else is usually available to assist, it’s not always ideal. Additionally, housekeeping seems to focus more on the larger areas, often neglecting the cleanliness of patient rooms. Despite these minor issues, the overall care, activities and being so close to where she grew up here in Bedford make it a strong choice for a retirement home.

I’m from Bedford and have since moved away. Years ago, While in school, I helped a wanderer back into the building. The resident was so sweet (albeit confused), all the staff was so friendly, but more importantly the atmosphere felt lighter than another similar establishment in the area I was very familiar with. Fast forward 10+ years, I see on Facebook one of my friends posting that he does events for residents here. I thought it was cool until I started seeing the videos he’d post… lunches, photo booths, games with props, theme events, IT MADE ME WANT TO LIVE THERE! The way the staff at CC strive to ensure their residents dont miss out every single thing about their independent lives is nothing short of amazing and imperative! I haven’t seen smiles and laughs in a ‘home’ since trick or treating every year at the other local care facility in the 90’s. While it could seem logical, it is an extremely hard decision as a family to decide the next step for parents, grandparents, or loved ones. Especially when we can’t give them the care they deserve ourselves. But it is overwhelming comforting and refreshing to see the staff not only caring for the residents, keeping them alive, but also keeping them LIVELY. Bravo Bedford Colonial Courtyard!

Excellent community engagement. Took my granddaughter there for Halloween trick or treat. The residents were so cheerful and the staff were great. The one manager even dressed as Santa and had one of the residents with him as an elf. Everyone was very kind!

I just came from a wonderful cookie exchange at Colonial Courtyard, which involved families and friends. The room was filled with stories, laughter, and Christmas music. A big thank you to the employees who go out of their way to care for our loved ones.

I follow this communities page clear from Florida and have visited in the past. I love seeing all of the smiling faces of the residents who live there. Tyler does an amazing job with the activities going on there, I never know what to expect next!!! It’s truly wonderful seeing how involved and engaged the residents are. Jordan is a fantastic nurse and the nursing staff takes exceptional, compassionate care of each resident in the community. Everyone looks so happy and takes pride in what they do. I can’t wait to visit again and to keep following along!!! These boys are incredible!

She always made me feel welcome even if I didn’t deserve it. Thanks Lori. Up dating my review: Today when I was talking to my mom who lives in CC was having a chocking issue. This may be a common occurrence for some older residents but if you live 2000 miles away their quick response is very appreciated. Thanks Brandy and Lori!!

They truly care for their residents’ mind, body, and spirit. Their activities are out of this world and there is always something going on to keep them stimulated and smiles on their faces! I would recommend their community to anyone!

Colonial Courtyard at Bedford is a wonderful place for residents! The staff is incredibly friendly and kind, and always have some sort of fun events planned for residents! They have a gardening club, recently participated in a fun game for national cheese day, had Club CCB which is the equivalent of a club like setting with glow sticks and fun for the residents, celebrated the solar eclipse, there are so many different activities for the residents! Your family members are truly in good hands at this facility! The love and care from the staff can be felt from miles away. CCB was recently voted the best assisted living and best memory care by US News and World Report. With the incredible staff and amenities for residents, there’s no doubt in my mind those awards were well deserved!

I do not live here nor have family that does. I follow this establishment on Facebook and the activities they do and how they keep these seniors active is great. Please give your activity director a raise colonial courtyard. The young man is amazing and I hope he never stops posting in our activity directors desk Facebook group. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a home for a senior citizen that wants to keep active and feel young and alive. I feel young and alive just by watching Facebook photos

My husband and I were very pleased with the care he received during a recent respite stay. The staff is friendly, caring, and competent and made him feel very welcome. The care he was given was excellent. The residents were also friendly and welcoming. The facility is clean and pleasant. One of their greatest strengths is that the staff members treat each other as friends and this creates a pleasant environment for all. We would definitely recommend Colonial Courtyard at Bedford to others.

My mom was at colonial courtyard for a respite stay. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They really took care of all of her needs and made her feel so welcome. In February of 2020 my father will have been a resident of this community for 2 years. He has enjoyed all the activities they have had to offer there. From playing bingo to little road trips that they offer. Now that his health is ailing, he is still receiving wonderful care from the staff and the wellness center there. The employees seem to take an interest in him and knowing what his needs are. They really try to make each resident feel special and try to make it a home away from home. Nice clean facility.

My mother lived here for 22 months until her death in 2017. Now my father-in-law has moved in. If you are looking for a quality care environment for your loved one, I highly recommend Colonial Courtyard at Bedford. The staff is attentive and very caring, the activities are many and wonderful for everyone, the food is exceptional and the “apartments” are very comfortable. Schedule a visit, you won’t be disappointed!
