We've loved our experience with Sunrise. We compared a lot of similar homes (shout out to Place for Mom for hooking us up with solid options) and immediately liked the 'vibes' here. Rachel and Samantha answered our many questions and guided us through an accelerated move, and our loved one has been in excellent hands for a few weeks now. I've only had great interactions with staff members, and feel confident and thankful about the thorough and compassionate care provided.

Rachel Peters at Sunrise of Abington was such a wonderful resource for our family when we were considering Sunrise. She assisted us in every step of the process and answered questions and concerns immediately, even on the weekends and evenings. She gives you all the relevant information you need or don't even think to ask. Even after my mom was admitted to the facility she follows-up to see how things are going with my mom and how we are doing as a family. I have never experienced this personal attention and dedication at any other facility my mom has stayed in. Honestly Rachel made this experience very comforting and easy for our family. In general the staff at Sunrise of Abington have been great and attentive, but I would definitely suggest working with Rachel in getting your loved one the care they need!

We were looking for a new home for our mother and we had heard great things about Sunrise. We visited and spoke to the representatives and we were very impressed. Staff patiently and kindly answered all of our questions and treated us and our concerns with the utmost respect. We ended up going with a different option but feel confident that had we chosen Sunrise, mom would have been cared for very well and would have been comfortable in her new home.

Words alone cannot express our families” gratification to Rachel Peters at Sunrise Abington Senior Living. She made the transitioning of our Aunt Joan Smyth so easy. Rachel was not only informative in providing one on one assistance in regard to placing our aunt in Abington Senior Living but she calmed Joan”s husbands fears and apprehension in regard to placing his wife in an affordable, home like, warm setting. Joan’s room is bright, cheery and comfortable. The stall and personal car givers are on the “ready” no matter what time of the day or night. They are 100% attentive to our aunt’s needs and does it rluquently and with the utmost care and respect. Our family is blessed with the reassurance that your aunt has adjusted to Sunrise being her home away from home! Happy Holidays to Rachel Peters and the entire staff at Sunrise Senior Living! My mom has been here for over eight years. During that time, I have had lots of opportunities to get to know the caregivers and staff. In a word — they are all WONDERFUL! John, the Director, runs this lovely facility with skill and experience, but never loses sight of the human factor in every situation. Ali, the Personal Care Coordinator, works incredibly hard to make sure every need is met, every problem is resolved, and every resident is treated with respect and friendship. Kathy, the nurse, and her team are attentive and conscientious about keeping families informed when their loved ones are ill, and they are all very experienced in dealing with older residents. As for the rest of the staff — the concierge, the Activities Director, the kitchen crew, the office staff, and so many others — theyre all friendly and easy to deal with, and extremely helpful.Finally — let me tell you a story about the care staff. In 2020 (that dreadful year), Sunrise was forced to close its doors to all families and visitors because of COVID-19 for over a year. I live only ten minutes away and I visited my mom two or three times a week before the pandemic hit, so it was making me crazy that I couldnt come and sit with her in person. However, what got me through that scary chaotic time was that I KNEW THAT MY MOM WAS SAFE AND BEING VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF, even without me popping in every other day or so. That meant EVERYTHING! I didnt have to worry about her. Besides, John and his awesome team did everything they could to help residents and families connect: phone calls, FaceTime, window visits, etcI cant say enough about Sunrise and the incredible people who work there. Theyve become family to me and my mom, and Sunrise is Home. I recommend Sunrise Assisted Living and their wonderful team in the strongest possible terms. Tell them Janet Summers sent you!

My parents both lived in Sunrise up till this past September when my father passed away and my mother continues to live there. My mother has made her own choice to continue to live there as she has made several friends at Sunrise. My father did not pass away from COVID-19, but of his deteriorating condition of dementia. I was unable to see my father until he was transferred to a hospice facility due to Sunrise being on lock-down since March 2020. During Covid 19 the facility has been in and out of lock-down several times. They are trying their best to keep the facility free of the virus, but they have had a few cases of both staff and residents. The pictures you see are of the independent living building which are basically private apartments with some extras included.Sunrise doesnt seem to be able to keep any kitchen help and has had several different cooks and food handlers in the years that my family has been there. The food they serve is very small portions, many times over seasoned.. They frequently run out of the food that they put on their menu for dinner, so residents have to order whatever is left. Clean, friendly, provides cable t.v., housekeeping and phoneI am a retired nurse and I did not choose this place for my family; they picked it themselvesAccording to other residents(who have spent time in the Assisted living building) the Assisted living side has poorly defined definition of what assisted living is supposed to provide.

Our mom spent the last year of her life at Sunrise of Abington before passing away at age 89 from multiple long-term health problems. The staff there took care of her as if she were their own mom or grandmother. Her face would light up when one of them walked into the room. They joked with her, rubbed her back, looked through photo albums with her and took care of her spiritually as well as physically. Many of the people our mom saw every day had been there for a long time, which means Sunrise treated them well. If the staff is happy they will treat your loved one well, and my siblings and I were so pleased with how much them made our mom feel at home. Mom is gone now but my siblings and I consider the people of Sunrise of Abington part of our family.

Sunrise seems like a nice place for seniors in need of assistance in their daily living. I was there for an interview, which I know I did not do so well. With that being said, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. If and when I get to that stage in life, this is the kind of place I would want to live.

My mother's Rolex watch and gold bracelet disappeared as a patient on third floor in sunrise abingyon, pa. Tried to bring them home but she threw a fit. Asked staff to try and get and put in safe. Well, they are gone. Hopefully they have insurance cause my family is going to put in a claim against them. This is not only sad but evil.

I visited your group with my 80-yr-old friends who sing there on a regular basis. We had a delightful time singing with many people, reminiscing with lovely songs, and appreciating the music with sprinkled comments: "He really knows what he's doing." "She is such a good dancer!"
