My wife and I have been here since August of 2021. We love the help-staff, administrative staff and the residents.Covid brought many difficulties for everyone and was no respecter of Senior Living Facilities. I honestly do not know how management and caregivers managed to cope, during that difficult time.With Covid behind us and new changes including update and remodel of much of the building and some personnel changes, we seem to be well on track, again. We love Sherry Summerville, our new executive director, who I believe to be a miracle incarnate. Many changes have been made this last year and we appreciate all staff, activities directors, medical aides, caregivers, kitchen, cleaning, maintenance and laundry personnel. We call our community "our resort"

Sellwood Senior Living is a great community for your loved ones! They have all have been so accommodating and sincerely generous with their time and concern for the residents in this community. The facility is brand new, well maintained, and staffed with friendly people who go out of their way to meet all the needs of their residents. There are game rooms, a theater, a hobby room and flexible dining options with a great food variety! But by far, what makes this place special is the group of people who manage the facility and the many employees from the dining room wait staff to the front desk receptionists, from the housekeeping staff to the executive offices, who really seem committed to making life enjoyable for the residents who call Sellwood Senior Living home!

My mom spent the last 8 months of her life at Elmcroft, and were generally very pleased with both the Elmcroft facility and the staff. The rooms are essentially nice little assisted-living apartments. Not fancy, but tasteful and a far cry from the sterile, drab hospital-like setting she was in at a recovery facility. The dining room is well appointed, and pre-COVID there was always a group socializing in the common room. My mom was a pretty private person so she didnt engage in the social activities there, but it was good to see they had them.The staff is by far the best thing about Elmcroft. Very nice people who really wanted to make her happy and were there for her increasingly to the end. I cant over-emphasize enough how much of a difference that makes in your loved ones situation. As her condition declined, they offered increasing levels of services without the need to move her from her apartment.I wouldnt give Elmcroft a full 5 stars, as there were occasions when call-button response times were not great, which can be important depending on your loved ones medical situation. And my mothers biggest complaint was the food. She was vegan, with a cheese allergy. A pain in the butt for any facility to deal with, but Elmcrofts kitchen just could never seem to get the message not to smother everything with cheese. Then COVID made it so all the meals had to be served in styrofoam cartons, which just made mealtime drudgery. Send your loved one as much GrubHub & Uber Eats as you can!COVID also made the social situation non-existent both inside for the residents and generally no visits were allowed. We only got to visit once she was on hospice, but I understand and Elmcroft did the right thing. Their staff was always masked and they do a good job protecting their residents.One final gesture Elmcroft made really made an impression on me: After my mom passed, we cleared her apartment immediately. But I fully expected to have to pay for the next months rent. 30 days notice on an apartment rental is so standard I just assume thats in the contract. Not only did Elmcroft not charge us for that next month, but they sent a refund check for the week shed paid for but didnt live to see. When your family is grieving, a small kindness like that meant the world to us. It was nice to see that even with a corporate parent, it wasnt just about the money with them.If youre looking for an assisted living facility for your loved one, Elmcroft is definitely worth a tour.And finally Id like to say thanks to all the Elmcroft staff for taking such good care of my mom!

my wife and lived there after her cardiac arrest and the return of her lung cancer and hospice. after she passed away I continued to recover in the facility from two strokes.it is very easy for me to highly recommend this facility. the staff was caring and considerate. the management was stellar in all of the interactions we had with them. the treatment of the covid epidemic was a special challenge for them and they handled it well.nobody liked it of course. the appartment was quiet and clean. they had a lot to offer but never forced and only encouraged. rhey allowed me time to grieve and offered heart felt assistance and that human connection during a tough time.Dr. Ken

Sandy Parker and her team have done an amazing job to get an at risk elder into their community in 3 days from initial contact. It took a village of support, but its happening, and I am so thankful. My mom lives here. Its very cozy. My moms apartment is modern with high ceilings. She stays busy doing activities. She goes to bingo, garden club, rides to various places. The thing I like is the residents seem comfortable and no one looks sad. I notice that it does need remodeling in the main hall but its vacuumed and doesnt smell. Its more like home and not sterile. Its why I like it. My mom was in foster care but hated it. Her health has been better since she lived there.

I have not even visited this location but called for information. It was clear up front that my family member wouldn’t be a good fit for this spot financially. But the lovely woman who answered the phone spent a good amount of time giving me information and alternatives. This was my first call and I so appreciate the kindness and knowledge that I received over the phone. Thank you!

Nice big 1 bedroom apartments. but short on skilled employees. This is not the employees fault, but the large corporate owner, who refuses to put out the money. Its a nice building with wonderful neighbors. The Emeritus Corporation cares more about money than the people they claim to care so much about. It,s too bad for the people that trusted their advertisements and moved in.
