I got my cna2 with Lindas program about 5 years ago. I had Ginna as my instructor. Because of these wonderful days. I’ve gotten to work in wonderful specials units like. The Nicu, emergency department, and many more. Many of us have went to nursing school after, Ginna and Linda got us into some wonderful hospitals (due to the respect. These hospitals love Linda / Ginna students). You gain a long term friendships with your classmates (to this day I am friends with most to call my classmates).. I promise you. You will not regret it!

The caregivers at Odd Fellows Holgate Center are the kindest, hardest working people I could have imagined. Theyve taken spectacular care of my mother, who has many needs, for over seven years since her stroke. Its not a fancy place, but it is well-maintained, well managed, and promotes a friendly, loving community. I am forever grateful for the care my mom receives there.

I completed my CNA 2 at Holgate Center with Linda and Ginna. I learned a lot of skills in a short amount of time and I now currently work at OHSU. I am thankful for their support and their teaching abilities. They were able to get me out of my comfort zone to show me how to be more assertive as a CNA. I recommend their CNA training program and their training led me to opportunities at one of the best hospitals in Oregon. They set you up for success and if youre looking for an entry level position in the medical field, this is an opportunity to take.

I dont understand the bad reviews for this place citing bad care or staff. Seems nothing more than bitter old staff. My Mom has been a resident of the Oddfellows Home for about 7 weeks. I see her 1-2 times, week. So, I see a lot. The building needs a little love. But its purely aesthetic. Its actually a really cool building! Beautiful atrium in the middle with a library and plenty of nooks to enjoy a book and a big livingroom if youre feeling social. My favorite things: The staff. Seriously. From director to CNA, to cleaning folx...just stellar and sweet. They really CARE. Mom has cognitive issues and memory issues. They have been superb about accommodating her, communicating with us, and just everything was so easy with them. My wife and I have been looking at assisted living facilities for 3 years because my parents needed help finding a new place, then not. It was a mess. Anyway, I saw plenty of beautiful fancy places. But ultimately the director had ONE INTEREST. $$$$ My parents lived in a fancy for-profit franchise for 6 years and did not get the care they needed. The staff was not good at other places. Rude, always seemed to have better things to do and never communicated with me. Im my moms only child, now. My father passed away last year and my brother 20 years ago. So, its very important that I find a place that has my Moms best interests at heart. With her cognative issues she could be abused or neglected easily. She lived with me for 2 years until her care became more than we could handle. We looked at many small care homes, large ones, you name it. Mom is on Medicaid. Like most middle class working Americans her medical expenses ate up whatever savings she had. Finding a decent home for her was very difficult. Oddfellows didnt make us feel like a charity case or that we were lucky theyd take her. Shes not quite ready for a nursing home, but needs help with meals and remembering things and she cant handle money or bills. From the meeting to see if she could join the community to this day the staff have been very active in her care, very responsive to repair requests, and even made her bathroom accessible. They continue to make us an active part of her care plan and I feel she is in good hands. The activities director, Rhonda, is always updating us and keeps an eye out for my mom as we told her shes very shy and has depression. Some things Ive checked in with my Mom: the food is pretty good and they have coffee, mocha, cookies and icecream available 24, 7. Theres no long wait to eat as theres assigned seating. She really likes her apartment and the staff. And she was a nurse for 45 years. She used to work in nursing homes as a director. Shes picky. She basically seems to love it. Thats important. The grounds are lovely and well-maintained. The facility is directly across from a park, near Trimet, and really cool. Her apartment is absolutely perfect. She has a balcony overlooking the park and a kitchen, but thankfully no stove. Its quiet and the walls are thick, so youre not hearing the TV of the deaf older person next to you. I havent seen any evidence of bugs or mess anywhere. The housekeeping staff seem to be doing great job keeping things clean. And the staff just care. Its so nice. This place has so many extras compared to the fancier places. I cant list them, here. But to me, it is the staff and facility that make it great. The building isnt some amazingly new impersonal luxury hotel looking place. Its small and open, yet warm and homey. I feel very glad about our decision to choose Oddfellows. This neurotic son is glad his Mom is in good hands. Mom seems to like it, too! And really, thats what matters. She is cared for physically, spiritually, and mentally. Thank you, Oddfellows Home!

Amazing place. I worked here for a short period of time and I had nothing but good experiences. The staff, both in the kitchen and nursing departments are very caring and hard working individuals. The residents are loved, respected, and cared for. I would highly recommend this place to someone looking for care, or employment. The managers in the dietary department (where I worked) were very professional and took pride in their work.

I work here. The patients and residents are super cared for. They are listened to and respected. They have 24 hour care and so many staff members there to help. They really care for the residents and want to make it as easy as possible for them. I love working here and would love here as a old person even with dementia. They residents are very nice as well!
