Reviews Courtyard at Mount Tabor
October 2024
I love living here! I moved in in August of 2021! Tarrah and all the concierges are wonderful, but, of course Tarrah is my favorite! My favorite place is the gym and exercise classes. I have hired the MBK Fit instructor, Lynden, as my personal trainer. So smart. I thought I could learn to walk with a cane on my own instead of use a walker all the time. But, it had taken me fourteen months just to walk 50 feet, and she had me using my cane in TWO weeks! I also like the movie theater and the church services here - they have Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish.! And, the residents respect each other.! Darius is great for medical transportation and the Activity Directors, Graham and Dawn, take me and other residents to FM once a week, and other fun places.

This place is wonderful and Riley has been the greatest person to my Mom and to me. She has been there through the move and beyond. I am forever grateful to her and the staff and everyone there.

I love living here at Courtyard at Mt. Tabor, and my favorite concierge, Tarrah, can assist me with many technological issues and answer many questions. The other concierges are also very helpful and able to answer and assist in many ways, both technologically and with all their wisdom and knowledge. This was absolutely the best move I ever made, to sell my house, consolidate my bills. The other residents are friendly. Of course, my very favorite room is the fitness center and participating in exercise classes and having the opportunity to lead some. I can watch the movie in the theater every night and there are church services for Protestants, Catholic, and a Jewish service as well. Yes, I can still cook in my own kitchen, but, I can also go to the dining room, if I don't feel like cooking. Yes, I very much like my HOME! Susan Shank (Resident since August 2021)

Jezzamee at the front desk has been especially helpful and friendly! I really appreciate her attention to issues I had with my mother. This has made a difficult time easier for me. Thank you!

The memory care has gone downhill since the change in management. There has been a very high turnover in staff. This did not happen under the old management. Multiple times I've tried calling there and no one answered the phone. My dad tested positive for Covid and we were not told until days later. We found out after we had taken him to a doctors appointment and out to lunch. I'm very disappointed especially with the price we pay.

My husband and I recently attended an Alzheimer Fundraising dinner at Mt. Tabor. The food was delicious, and the service was great. What we most noticed was how attentive Braden Thomas was to the people in the dining room. He continually circled the room, talking to individuals (calling them by name) and making sure their dinner was to their liking. He seemed to really care that everyone was being well taken care of. Assisted Living facilities need more staff like him.

Tarrah is always so amazing and friendly! She really knows how to put a smile on your face and is always willing to help out 🙂
June 2024
friendly staff that make your experience personable for the residents.
June 2024
The best boss I could have asked for and a great food and beverage manager to help run things properly and efficiently in the dining room, everytime he ask us to try something new in the dining room a lot of the residents tell us how we or Braden did an amazing job setting up the food or dining room.
June 2024
My mother has been a resident there. Just wanted to let everyone know how well she was treated. We would eat there often and the food and beverage staff was above excellent. Always went above and beyond to make her feel special. Foos always amazing. The Manager or Food and Beverage Director talked to us. Seems he has taken it to another level. Nicely done Courtyard!!
June 2024
The environment is so fun while still being professional, all of the residents are kind and respectful. Braden is a great manager and is always kind and extremely understanding of peoples situations. He manages the environment of Courtyard at Mt.Tabor perfectly!

Since arriving here, I have found Terrah to be a valuable asset to the residence. She seems to know all answers to my questions and responds in a positive manner to whatever I ask. Gloria Austin

Great communication and service
June 2024
My wife and I recently had dinner here as part of a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association. It was a very enjoyable evening with music, a raffle, and an excellent dinner. All of the staff were courteous and attentive, and the residents we met were very welcoming. The food was delicious and we were especially impressed with how the chef and the food services manager checked on us to see if there was anything we needed. The dining room is being managed very well and we look forward to returning.

I have a family member that has been living there for some time, and the food and beverage program has really stepped up since the new Food and beverage Director took over. Absolutely amazing

We recently attended the Alzheimer's Association fundraising dinner & had such a great evening! The food was absolutely delicious & the service could not have been better. This was not our first dinner at the Courtyard at Mt. Tabor, & we're aware of the improvements Braden Thomas has implemented. His staff is welcoming, accommodating & professional, & there is a fun & friendly vibe in the dining room. We look forward to returning!

I am the Lead concierge at courtyard and I love it! I see how much the directors care about not only the staff but the residents!!

My mom has been living in the Independent Living building for just about a year and we can't say enough good things about her life at Courtyard. I think the best review I can leave is to share what mom says, which is that she loves living at Courtyard. She often shares that she feels safe and that there is a wonderful sense of community. She says everyone is so friendly and helpful--both staff and residents. She appreciates that there is always something going on and it's so easy to participate when she feels like it. She mightily resisted moving away from her condo to live at Courtyard, but within 2 weeks, she told us how glad she was that we insisted she move. "It's just a really great place to live," she says. We also want to express our gratitude to Kristie, the Director of Facilities, who is quick to reach out with any concerns that come up from the housekeeping staff. Whenever we have put in a request for some issue in Mom's apartment, someone is there within the hour (and usually within 5 minutes) to take care of it. As well, Tara at the front desk is an absolute wizard--friendly, efficient, and taking care of a dozen things at once. Whenever we have a question, Tara always has a helpful answer. We know that a caring, dedicated staff is helping to look out for mom, which takes so much worry off our shoulders. We could not be happier that Courtyard helped my mom transition to her good life there.

The best, solved the problem satisfactorily in five minutes.

What a wonderful facility and community! My mother in law for the last year has currently resided in independent living. Each day she meets more people and shares her life experiences. The staff is fantastic! They seem to take pride in their work and care about the population that they are serving. Kristie is the director of environmental services which seems to do a lot of everything. She is awesome and so is her staff! Literally, if you are looking for a place for your aging parents or yourself, you should take a tour with Kevin!
May 2024
My mother has been in Courtyard Independent Living for 1.5 years. She reports enjoying the friendly, caring atmosphere. Food is good and activities are interesting. As her family member/caregiver, it has been challenging to get information directly from the facility, which has been frustrating at times. The newer management company has modernized many aspects, which I really appreciate.
May 2024
Kristie was wonderful helping me with my flowers.
May 2024
Great staff. Great residents. Great atmosphere. Great food. Lots of activities. Just a fun place to be!

My mother-in-law for the past year has been in Independent Living. The facility and community are fantastic. Within the past year, she has met many people and shared life stories with her new friends. The staff are outstanding. Kristie, who is the Environmental Services Director, seems able to do just about everything; she and her staff are awesome. In fact, the staff of the whole community really take pride in their work and it shows. You can tell they care about the residents and ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable living situation. If you're looking for a safe transition for yourself or a loved one, I highly recommend setting up a tour with Kevin. Our only regret is we didn't move my mother-in-law sooner.

Kristie is amazing and has outstanding customer service

Kristie has always been amazing. She is forward thinking with a prattle approach. Thanks for everything. Scott

I just moved my Mom into Park Memory Care at Courtyard last week. It started out well during the search. The facility seemed very nice and everyone was helpful. Once I signed the contracts and paid the first months rent, it all changed. I was trying to get information and copies of the contracts and no one would return my phone calls or emails. On the day of move in, I was rushed through signing the service agreements and that was it. We were just left to sit there waiting for the movers to arrive. They did not assist her in acclimating to the facility. No mental or physical check in was done. I was told they did take her vitals later. We took possession of the apartment 10 days prior to move in. Yet her cable was not setup for 2 days. I have been there 4 times over this first week. Her bed is always unmade, her room is not kept up. It is cold only 66 degrees in her apartment. There is a resident that goes into the others apartments and takes their stuff. Then the aides have to find it. When I visited on the weekend after not being there for 2 days, I found her lamp broken. Her clock radio on her nightstand was sitting in a puddle of water that had been spilled. Fortunately she had unplugged everything as well. I do not know when these things happened. I wouldn't mind paying their premium prices if she was receiving premium care but she is NOT. She is not receiving adequate care at all so far. They seem to have excuses for many things, "The phone system is wonky", there are issues with receiving emails due to security, The scanner is not working, etc" I did finally receive a copy of the contracts after emailing the executive director last week with my complaints but have not seen any improvements so far.

My parent has lived in the community for the past 3 years. 2 years at Park (Assisted Living) and 1 year at Pavilion (Memory Care). I would like to clarify that the majority of med techs, caregivers and front desk staff have been wonderful. The leadership, however, has been in a constant state of flux, with Pavillion Memory Care going on its sixth director in just over one year. The egregious turnover has has left my family feeling extremely uneasy about the management of our loved one's care. I have reached out to leadership multiple times in the past year to discuss these frustrations. Unfortunately, it's always with a new face, making the same promises as the last. I will update this review if/when meaningful changes occur. Update 10/2023: I met with CMT's Executive Director a couple of weeks ago. She was very open about the challenges she & her team inherited as the old management company departed earlier this year. I appreciated her transparency & her compassion. I'm hopeful that this new leadership team is qualified and motivated to resolve the staffing issues and rebuild trust with residents and their families. Moving a loved one into memory care is an incredibly scary and difficult thing to do. Despite my frustrations and uneasiness over the past year, I still believe CMT Pavilion is a good choice for those in need of a local Memory Care facility. Just be aware, they are still working out a few kinks.

Been here for a few weeks. Amazing crew that seems efficient, busy, and at the same time friendly and helpful. Being new, there are lots of questions that are quickly answered. A very clean facility with good meals and lots of activities. The apartments are large enough with enough storage. Well planned complex with nice grounds and walking paths. Though it's my first experience, it's a good one.

Over all our 8 years of living here have met our needs and have enjoyed it. A lot 0f changes recently and not all for the best, Am concerned about the future and the oversight of MBK

My mother has lived in the independent living section (her own apartment) there for 2 years. What a wonderful community of residents and workers. There is also an assisted living section and a memory care section. There are tons of activities, a gym and personal trainer who has trained in senior exercise. the grounds back the woods and have a paved path that goes all around the property for walking, as well as garden areas for the residents. It is in a quiet and established neighborhood off Division St. in Portland. The food in the dining room is incredible--I would rank it in the top 5 places I have ever eaten. Lots of choices and beautiful presentation. My mom eats all her dinners there and some breakfasts and lunches, even though she has a small kitchen in her apartment. The staff is so friendly and caring. What a great place for my mom to retain her independence but have the supports in place for me to be comfortable with that.

My dad was a resident for 3 months (June-Sept ‘22) at the Pavilion at Mount Tabor. This is the memory care wing at the very west of campus. The staff were professional and, more importantly, worked together as a team to ensure that residents are taken care of and that staff support each other. It is a very special place. Unfortunately, Mount Tabor does not take Medicaid and so we had to transition my dad somewhere else.

My Dad moved in here about a year ago. He couldn't be happier!! He lost my Mom 3 years ago and has been very lonely. He didn't consider himself old enough to go into Independent Living but my brother and I convinced him to check it out. The monthly expenses are reasonable, he gets one free meal a day in the beautiful dining room or delivered if he isn't feeling social. He feels genuinely cared for and has made good friends already. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the market. I understand it wouldn't be for everyone, as it is a very liberal leaning community, but everyone is very open minded to other opinions. The staff is kind and the Kevins are AMAZING!!!!! 5 stars!!

Love love love this place! My dad had a less than stellar experience at other care facilities and Courtyard really blows the other places out of the water. Special shout out to my favorite caretakers Melissa and Angela in Memory Care! Y’all really make us feel like my dad is being taken care of with HEART keep on rockin.

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph this community a few months back and was really impressed with the team and community. I would definitely trust my family’s care to this team. This community was a breath of fresh air!

I cant speak to their actual services, but I stopped there today seriously dehydrated from a long bike ride, and the staff graciously gave me ice water, a large ice pack, and a place to sit and rest as long as I needed. Turns out they may have saved my life, as I had a significant fever when I got home. Thank you. If management is reading this, please give both the woman at the desk and the man who I believe worked in the dining area (6, 11, 19 at approx. 2pm) a pat on the back for their kindness.

Such a wonderful place. My fiances grandmother has been there since last November. She started in independent care & moved along to the memory care. The staff is so genuine & kind. As someone who delivered pizza for 7 years to places like this on a daily basis I can tell you from the moment I walked in the door I knew it was a great place. There was no odors or overwhelming smells of urine filling the halls & there was no staff who walked around looking like they hated their jobs because they had to be there to put in their time for their cna. Everyone looks happy, well cared for & content. Although no matter how great of a place, its still always hard walking in to the memory ward seeing scared & confused residents waiting by the door for someone to come get them, but the staff treats them with such compassion & has such patience for these people that they truly do care for. They treat them on an individual basis to meet each ones needs. My 2 1, 2 year old daughter loves to visit grandma during happy hour where they have drinks & snacks & an entertainer. They are always putting on exciting events for the residents!

The staff here is so caring and competent. I felt privileged to know them. My father-in-law did not stay here long, but that was because of his escalating dementia, not their quality of care. The staff bent over backwards to assist us, but in the end they could not create more beds for Memory Care. I would tell anyone with a relative looking for independent, assisted or memory living to look here first.
April 2017
I have never been more proud of a community of people during such an unprecedented time. In the golden years of seniority when things become fun and relaxing, our residents have shown grace and patience as we have navigated through COVID-19. Our staff have been diligent and helped wherever needed to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep each other safe. This community is unlike any other!
