When my wife passed I looked around and when I came here I found friendly staff & friendly people where ever we toured. i am living here a while now & the staff is always available & very caring & that includes from the servers to the managers. There are plenty of activities to keep us busy if we are interested. Movies, swimming, exercising, trips to somewhere weekly (in fact next Friday I am looking forward to the Portland Art Museum). The main thing are residents are happy & I certainly recommend the Springs to anyone interested in Independent Living.

My mother was one of the first residents in Memory Care when it was opened in August 2013 at The Springs at Carman Oaks. I selected The Springs for its proximity to our home. But I have since learned that it was the best possible choice for my mother and our family. The caregivers and staff are excellent in every way. In fact, never have I met a more caring and compassionate group of people. Daily activities move along smoothly. The medication management, outstanding activities, meals, and overall helpfulness of the caregivers and staff have given me peace of mind for many years. I wholeheartedly recommend The Springs to anyone looking for superior care in Memory Care or Assisted Living. I will happily speak with anyone who wants additional information from someone very familiar with this community.

This is a highly respectable senior living community with top notch staff and a good resident to employee ratio which enables the residents to receive very good care. The memory care unit is among the best in the state and is indeed a family atmosphere where residents for get they are residents. This is their long term home and you can see the pride on their faces. If you able to find an open room here consider yourself extremely lucky. There is a waiting list just to get in the door.

Carman Oaks is a happy, friendly place to live! Eight years ago my husband and I visited all the retirement communities in the area. Much was comparable, except we saw more smiles, more people talking and enjoying each others company than any others. This atmosphere of friendly cheer fills the building. Carman Oaks is a welcoming home for all who come to visit and often stay.

The Springs at Carman Oaks is Home. I came to Carman Oaks on August 4, 2004. After much searching, my daughter found Carman Oaks. When I came to visit my daughter and family, I visited Carman Oaks and found it inviting and felt it was the residence I was looking for! I immediately paid the move-in fee and, being reluctant to leave the desert, I moved in 2 years later! The administration and staff helped make the move-in very comfortable, although the weather didnt cooperate. Eventually, the sun appeared and I began to enjoy the beauty of Oregon! I felt at home! When my friends would inquire, How do you like it? I, of course, reminded them! Whats not to like? I dont have to cook and clean! The location was also very accessible for me to attend the facility where I worship. I was one mile which I could easily walk and participate in volunteering! Through the years, the life enrichment activities have been excellent. The access to the exercise and pool activities is organized and helpful! I also commend the staff for making it a comfortable and delightful place to live!

My daughters thought I would be happy living here. They liked the location in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood, the peacefulness of the residents they encountered and the cheerfulness of the staff. They especially liked the friendly chattering among residents during meals. I enjoy living here for the same reasons. There is a beautiful walkway outside round the building which includes many benches for sitting, visiting, reading or merely enjoying the fresh air on sunny days and even on the gently rainy ones. I enjoy watching residents care for their raised garden beds and know that I can share with the fruits-of-their-labors. I do spend most of my days on these benches. I still feel that exercise is important for body and mind health. I can use our beautiful pool and gym, both areas have an energetic instructor and daily classes. I can also join the book club, checkout books in the resident run library, take watercoloring classes, attend cooking classes, join theater reading group, watch movies, Ted Talks and shows like Aerial America and attend lectures on almost any subject. A subject just needs to be suggested, and the deed is done. Most of all, I love the off-site activities, be it to the Portland Symphony, Lake Oswego or Broadway Rose theaters, drive to the Coast, restaurants, museums, art on buildings, specialty gardens, wineries and casinos. Oregon is a new state for me, but I am quickly feeling like a native. The best part of living here is that I actually feel that I gained in my independence. I do most everything I did before moving here, except I have new friends to enjoy these activities, and I do not have to find a parking place. And I dont have to drive to doctors appointments or go to grocery stores, but I can. Am I glad that I live here? Yes!! My daughters want an apartment too. Thank goodness one has to be old!!

When you walk into The Springs at Carman Oaks, you get a good feeling. It is an attractive lobby and everything is clean and smells good. I have never met an unfriendly person who works there. It is small enough that it has a homey feeling and most of the residents know each other. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and has beautiful grounds with a nice walking path.

Weve been very happy with the care my in-laws have received at The Springs at Carman Oaks. Weve used all levels: Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. We have lived at The Springs at Carman Oaks for five years. We lived in the First Addition of Lake Oswego for over 20 years in a condo we dearly loved. But steps got in our way. I sang in a Womens Chorus that performed at Carman Oaks twice. Also, I attended the occasional antiques appraisal event held at Carman Oaks. I was impressed with the community and the friendliness of the residents. Joe and I visited together for a tour and lunch with a resident. Our decision was made to make the big move! We have not regretted our move at all and love our life here. Living here is a perk for our children, also, as they know we are safe and comfortable in our home. Our apartment is small but very cozy. We love living on the fourth floor near the library. We have met many interesting people here and made some very good friends. For me not having to cook our meals anymore has been wonderful! There are so many physical and intellectually stimulating activities to choose from, along with musical entertainment, great holiday parties, and beautifully kept and decorated surroundings. We love living at Carman Oaks and would highly recommend this lifestyle to anyone interested.

I moved to the Springs at Carman Oaks in November of 2015. My three years here have gone by quickly, most likely due to my involvement in so many of the activities, outings and special events offered here! The food is delicious and the staff and residents are very friendly which makes forming friendships so much easier.

When my husband and I were looking for a place to live after we sold our house, we had no idea what to look for. We looked at some places that seemed too formal, too expensive or in the wrong location, but when we walked into the lobby of the Spring at Carman Oaks, it was casual, but nice, people were talking to each other and laughing, the staff was friendly with us and with the residents. It seemed just right. It has a swimming pool and a wonderful library. Both of those things were a big draw for us. When my husband passed away this year, I was so grateful not to be in our house alone and have to deal with all of that. I was in a place where I could be alone if I needed, or with people at whatever level I chose. The Springs was a great choice for us and now for me!

Our family has been extremely pleased with our experience at The Springs at Carman Oaks. We whole-heartedly recommend Carman Oaks to all our friends. Every single staff person we have had the privilege of working with has been so kind, compassionate and helpful. That includes the administrative staff, waiters, waitresses, housekeeping, receptionists, EVERYONE. To a person, they have shown they really care about the residents and treat them as their friends and almost an extension of their family. They are the best!
