The staff were very welcoming and kind during the stressful time of bringing my mother to live at Somerset, helping to make the transition go very smoothly. Since moving in, my mother has adjusted nicely, and any questions have been listened to and answered to our complete satisfaction. Mom loves the staff, and the musicians that perform for the residents. The grounds are beautiful and the facility is clean and well maintained.

I moved here with my Wife four years ago, and Somerset has been a big help ever since. I am very happy here, and eveyone is help oriented. We are all Brothers and Sisters and rely on each other. The overall support, and support of Wellness is amazing. I am too busy to go to many activites or outings, but there is something for everyone here!

Our experience with Somerset Assisted Living has been excellent. All throughout my mom’s residency there these past years, the staff at every level has been so thoughtful, so caring and overall just exceptional. Now as my mom is nearing end of life on home hospice, that thoughtful, caring, and exceptional situation has just put my good-will towards this place and the people there over the top and more than I can convey in an online recommendation. I feel so strongly about this recommendation that I am taking the time to write it now even at this sensitive and hectic time. We had experience with other places previously and for us there was just no comparison to Somerset. The management is excellent, the nursing and med staff are excellent, the support staff and kitchen are excellent. For those new to assisted living and looking for a really nice and worry-free place, you will want to consider Somerset. Keep in mind (as we learned), that the first month/s at any place you go will be an adjustment time for you or your loved one (or in my case family) to adjust to the new life and routines of assisted living in general, just as the staff there will need time to adjust to you and your routines. There will be times of frustration for you or your loved one as they settle in wherever you go, but once a routine is established and you get to know the staff it will become a god-send! The quality of the nursing and meds staff will be very important and here is another area where Somerset is a god-send. Lastly, but definitely not least, in fact maybe near the top, would be the quality of the food, the chef and the kitchen staff and not to sound like a broken record but here too Somerset was a god-send for us. A last thing that makes Somerset excel above the competition for us is the fact that they are a large facility so have the scale offer a wide variety of activities, services and importantly friendships.but unlike some of the other places we had experience with, though large, Somerset is not as rigidly corporate, but flexible when appropriate which is often at just the times that flexibility is appreciated most!

I recently had the pleasure to meet with the front desk and administrative staff at Somerset and I was not disappointed. After our conversation, I left the building knowing that the staff is attentive, caring and capable. I would recommend the facility to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.

I love the admin and others in charge. They made the move in for my folks go as smoothly as possible during a pandemic! All seems great from my side, but the one struggle my folks have is the inconsistent time of meals. That's the only reason not a 5.

Somerset provides a welcoming environment for my family member. The administrator, Niare, is attentive and cares quite a bit about the health and well-being of the residents, and it shows. She’s always ready to listen and help with solutions for caring for my loved one. One of the things Niare does is find out what is most important to the resident, and she tries very hard to make their dream or goal a reality. She thinks outside the box and is very patient and kind. The staff tries hard to have my family member feel loved and attended to too, even when illness makes that hard to do. I feel welcome when I come to visit and see how my loved one is doing.

I have had lunch and dinner her numerous times. Sadly the food is horrible, I can't believe what they pass off as cooked by a chef. The Cobb salad had a tiny piece of tomato, a tiny piece of egg, and imitation bacon bits, an olive and maybe a piece of chicken. Their stir fry looked like mush. I have worked in a assisted living facility, and I know that meals can be good, fresh and look good on a kitchen budget. I have never seen salmon served, or any meal that looks like their pictures. I feel bad for the residents that have no choice but to eat there. And get different uniforms for the staff, white polo shirts turn dingy. We had black slacks, black shirts and ties at dinner. These people are paying good money, give them a boost.

Niare FeSter is the manager at Somerset Assisted Living in Gladstone, Oregon. She’s got to be one of the most wonderful people you could ever meet She cares about her residents. You’re not just a number. She’s on top of what’s going on. When I realized my sister was going to have to be in assisted-living I came to see her . She made me feel so comfortable and blessed that my sister was going to be in one of the best facilities in Oregon. Every time I talk to her she is just incredibly reassuring that Hetty will be in very good hands. I can't say enough about the staff at Somerset. It's always hard visiting and placing your loved ones in Assisted Living and it's a not easy reality to face up to. Somerset is really a family place and I'm glad that this was the place we choose. From the second you enter from when you leave you get the feeling that things are as they should be. This is the time for us the kids to pay back and make sure are older loved ones are cared for at the end and Somerset understands this mind set. It's not cheap but it's worth it and I want say to thanks again to the whole staff for caring for my grandma and taking care of her and taking of the family's concerns.
