We looked at a few memory care communities around Beaverton, and Waterhouse Ridge just felt different right away. What stood out most was how active and engaged everyone was.. there’s always something going on, whether it’s music, activities, or just people spending time together. It didn’t feel quiet or stagnant like some of the other places we visited. The staff clearly puts a lot of care into creating a positive environment, and it really shows. We feel really good about choosing this community.

Moving my mom into memory care was a difficult step, but Waterhouse Ridge has been such a relief for our family. The caregivers are incredibly patient and kind, and they treat residents with real compassion and respect. Every time I visit, I see staff interacting with residents in a genuine way, not just going through the motions. The communication has also been great, which gives us a lot of peace of mind. We’re very thankful to have found this community in Beaverton.

We toured several memory care communities around Beaverton, and Waterhouse Ridge really stood out. The biggest difference for us was how engaged the residents were, there’s always something going on, whether it’s music, activities, or social interaction. It doesn’t feel quiet or stagnant like some other places we saw. The team clearly puts a lot of effort into creating a positive environment, and it shows. We feel very confident with our decision.

I moved my mom here a few months ago and I’m really happy we chose Waterhouse Ridge. I looked everywhere around town and didn’t feel particularly energized by many of the places, although they were nice. After visiting Waterhouse, it felt different and more community-like. Although the transition has been challenging, I’m happy we’re in this new phase. I have an enormous amount of respect for the staff; they’re a rare group! They each connect with the residents in a unique way and it's been a wonderful surprise to see my mom engage with the community there.

We must have toured every memory care community in the city before we found Waterhouse. We knew this was our place the moment we walked in the front door where we were greeted with smiles and hospitality instantly. This community is not like any other community we had visited. Walking through the doors we heard laughter and live music. The residents were so engaged and interactive, nobody was sleeping with their head on the table or walking around dirty. The staff were very engaged with all of the residents and it just felt like walking into a great big happy family. This was the best decision we have ever made. If you are searching for the perfect place for your loved one you must schedule a tour and experience the magic yourself.

I visit several friends”many of whom I’ve known through church for years”across multiple communities in the area, and I can confidently say that Waterhouse Ridge is by far the best. Every time I visit, the residents are truly engaged in meaningful activities, and everyone looks clean, comfortable, and happy. The community has such a vibrant, uplifting atmosphere. They do weekly outings, and they have live music four to five times a week”sometimes even more! Recently, I attended their Friendsgiving celebration, and it was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. You could tell it was a true team effort. All the residents were smiling, surrounded by family and friends, and it genuinely felt like being at Grandma’s house for a big Thanksgiving gathering. It was beautifully put together, very well attended, and deeply appreciated by everyone there. I would highly recommend Waterhouse Ridge to anyone looking for memory care for a friend or loved one. This community doesn’t just provide care”they create moments and experiences that allow families to continue building lifelong memories together.

I won’t say any community is perfect”there are so many moving parts day to day that perfection isn’t realistic. But Waterhouse Ridge truly feels like a well-oiled machine. Any time something hasn’t met my expectations, I’ve reached out, and the team has responded quickly and professionally. I’ve seen improvements immediately, and that level of responsiveness shows how much they care. This community consistently meets my high standards for caring for my loved one, and I’m grateful for the dedication they show every

My mother and I visited a lot of communities before we chose Waterhouse. We wanted only the best for my father. When we toured Waterhouse we instantly could tell that they were one of the best. They had live music and the residents were clean and happy and very engaged. We looked at past reviews and then we met with the ED to ask questions. She made us feel very comfortable with our decision and we decided to move forward. My dad has improved by leaps and bounds. My mom is able to visit and be a wife again. My dad has a lot of new friends that he enjoys spending time with. The staff are already like family to all of us and we are so grateful that they had an opening when we were looking. This was the best decision we ever made.

My mom has lived at Waterhouse the past 9 months. She is receiving compassionate and attentive care from the dedicated staff of caregivers. Our family feels she is in a safe and nurturing environment. The activities and enrichment provided is excellent especially made fun by activities leader Diana . A full day of hands on games, crafts and mental and physical activities with weekly live entertainment makes this place different than other memory care facilities. Waterhouse has made big strides in hiring quality staff in key positions in the past 6 months and positive changes are evident. Memory care is a challenging environment to manage and lead, and it’s not going to be perfect, but there is passion and commitment amongst the employees. I confidently recommend that you come take a tour when looking for a home for your loved one.

I am the brother of a resident at Waterhouse Ridge, and I cannot express how grateful I am for everything the staff and management have done for my family. We had some unique and challenging circumstances, and it was a lot for the team to manage, yet they handled everything with patience, compassion, and professionalism. The executive director truly went above and beyond to support my brother. I honestly don’t know of any other ED who would have put so much extra effort into ensuring he was safe, supported, and cared for. The care staff were equally incredible”helping my brother contact me when he needed to talk, and always treating him with kindness and respect. I also appreciated that the executive director consistently took the time to speak with me directly and keep me updated on my brother’s situation. Because of the dedication and heart shown by everyone at Waterhouse Ridge, I would highly recommend this community. They truly go the extra mile, and my family is deeply grateful.

After my father died, I moved my mother to memory care in Beaverton in April 2023. Even though Waterhouse Ridge had a very low review score, I chose it, because at the time, it was clean, it didn't smell, and it was close to my house making it easier to visit my mother. Since that time, the management and care staff have completely changed. The current management staff have addressed the issues which were present when I first moved my mother into the facility. I have found the current caregivers, to be very attentive to my mother's needs and to treat her like a family member as opposed to another old lady with dementia. My mother passed away 2 weeks ago, but I'm glad I had her in Waterhouse Ridge and I certainly would recommend this facility to my friends and family who were in need of their services.

Waterhouse Ridge is a mixed bag. The strength is in caregivers who deeply care for residents and are skilled at engaging them in a caring and meaningful way. Other caregivers are less amazing and just seem to be waiting for their shift to end, but that is to be expected from an under-paid (and often under-trained) workforce. It is a difficult job. If your loved one is relatively stable and doesn't have medical needs, this is a good environment for activities and social engagement. There are a number of younger, more active residents that make the environment vibrant. However, there are serious training and communication issues among management that trickle down to staff. Many staff members are not properly trained and management fails to take responsibility. Meeting basic medical needs seems to be a struggle here (issues include prescriptions not filled in a timely manner, poor communication with outside medical providers, and lack of qualified staff to evaluate/handle medical issues). Turnover is high at this facility and it is clear that whoever is at the top of this organization is only interested in profit. The facility itself is well-designed with nice indoor and outdoor spaces but it is run on a shoestring budget. After hours they keep the front door propped open with a ballpoint pen rather than staff a nighttime receptionist or install a proper secure entrance. The ratio of staff to residents is bare minimum and outside of M-F 9-5 there is no one on duty who is qualified to take responsibility for the care of these vulnerable residents. There are serious issues with sanitation. Residents' rooms are often filthy and are never deep-cleaned as promised. Laundry is often mixed so you will find your loved one's clothing and bedding disappearing. Housekeeping is NOT a strength. There is a lot of potential here in this facility, but sadly it is wasted by greedy executives who care more about profit than people. Very disappointing.

My Mom was a resident there. She was so unhappy at her former assisted care home. I moved her to Waterhouse Ridge this last summer, and she lived out the rest of her life with loving care and comfort. The staff took excellent care of her and worked well as a team with hospice, ensuring loving care and support in her final days. I recommend this home to anyone looking for a caring, clean, experienced facility for your loved one.

What a beautiful and fun community! The residents at Waterhouse Ridge are wonderful, the staff and managers are amazing and the owners TRULY care about the residents and staff. I see some negative reviews from years ago but I must say, this is not the same Waterhouse Ridge they are referring to. Stop by, have lunch and meet our new Amazing chef who’s preparing fresh farm to table meals for the residents or join in on one of the many activities taking place daily.

We've sure had some issues with staff not responding to some critical needs. Feedback is given and things like broken toilets take 4 days to repair after continual hounding. Staff seems to turnover a lot and the skill level of the people in the care areas does not seem to be at the appropriate level. The facility is very nice, but other issues are very concerning. Rethinking placement here. 🙁

A word of warning to those interested in this place (because a tour of the facility will be very attractive). We were duly impressed by everything they showed us (the empty section with model rooms beautifully furnished) and chose a large private room that was in a wing yet unoccupied. We were told it would be another month, maybe two, until that wing opened up, but the room would be reserved for us. In the meantime, our mom was put into a "shared" room by herself, but rather than being charged the fee for this smaller size room, we are having to pay almost $3000.00 more for the FUTURE large private room we are "GOING" to be moved into - - - that was the deal we signed on for, thinking it would only be a month of waiting, 2 months at the most, until she could move into the room she selected. So - - we waited one month, then two months, then three months, then four months, and now going on five months, with no end in sight, still paying close to $7000.00 for a room that rents for $4400.00. I think this is their little scam going on - - to promise something and never deliver on it, but still charge the additional 3K to "reserve" it until that wing is opened - - well guess what? The facility did not pass inspection by the state licensing bureau, so now they have closed off any new move ins until they've been cleared by the state and passed their licensure inspections... meaning, they are NOWHERE NEAR being able to open the new wing, BUT are still charging us for the big room we may never have. The facility is beautiful, but understaffed, with underpaid, unengaged caregivers and too much turnover. New employees with potential tend to leave for greener pastures, maybe because they see incompetence in management... who knows. We made a mistake moving here and feel we are being ripped off - - hopefully this review will spare you the same grief.
