I have lived in independent living for 10 years and enjoy it very much. My apartment is small but just the right size for me. I have made lots of friends, including both new and former staff. I like that I do not have a home to worry about or have my children watch over it when I travel. I enjoy the activities and the crafts. I do not have to do dishes or cook my own meals. They provide transportation to doctor appointments and shopping trips. We go on day trips to different places and experience all kinds of fun stuff. I would recommend coming to check out Bonaventure of Albany if you are looking.

Our mother has spent the last year at Bonaventure of Albany Senior Living Facility. We recently moved her out to be closer’s to family, friends, doctors, etc. It was a very difficult decision to leave Bonaventure as Mom had grown to love the staff and her new friends. We can’t say enough about how pleased the entire family has been with the Bonaventure experience. They have a very professional, kind, and compassionate staff who works hard to create a welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of planned activities, events, and celebrations to engage the residents. Special “shot-out” to the Executive Director, Sky. Her strong leadership skills, kind heart, and hard work have served her well as she has created a very positive and comfortable living environment. Congratulations and “Job Well Done” to Bonaventure of Albany! Mark Baumgartner

A wonderful place for your loved one. Personable staff, unmatched amenities and great care. I don't think there is a memory care in the Albany/Corvallis area that beats what Bonaventure of Albany has.

I recently stopped by Bonaventure of Albany and was really impressed by the size and layout of the community. It’s a beautiful, large senior living campus with a lot of amenities and comfortable common areas. The environment felt welcoming and well maintained. You can tell it’s designed to support residents at different stages as well, with options for independent living, assisted living, and memory care all in one place. The staff member I spoke with in the office was very kind and helpful, and the overall atmosphere felt warm and professional. It’s clearly a place that puts effort into creating a comfortable environment for residents and their families. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking at senior living options in the Albany area.

This is my third attempt to write of the stupendous Boo aventure at my mother’s place of residence at Bonaventure of Albany. I’m not sure why the other rave reviews disappeared but Halloween 2025 is worth every attempt of praise! I can’t think of another Halloween in decades that was as good and fun as the one on Geri Street. My parents, us, our daughter and granddaughter thought every single thing was perfect! The staff’s decoration and devotion to detail transformed an already beautiful facility into perfection for the community and residents. From face painting to Mylar balloons to trick or treating, every single attendee had so much fun! Over and over I heard “this is the best hotdog I’ve ever had!” which was quite a unique compliment among all the other foods and activities! We loved our 90 and 95 year old parents’ happiness and joy as well as pride in the whole shebang. I’ll add pictures as my words are weak to explain what a great time was had by all the community. There wasn’t a complaint or discouraging word among the throngs of attendees. It was a great event and the community present were so grateful to be included.

The quality of care and experience in any community begins with its leadership. Senior management must remain actively engaged with what is happening at the community level, not just at a corporate desk. When leadership loses sight of the people we serve and the teams who care for them, everything suffers. Unfortunately, in recent years, the industry’s priorities have shifted. Too often driven by investor returns rather than the mission of serving seniors. This has led to reduced staffing, increased pressure on associates, and ultimately, compromised care. That is unacceptable. Staff are the backbone of our communities, and residents are the reason we exist. Both deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and unwavering support. I believe it should be a moral and ethical imperative, if not a legal one, that Senior Living remains mission driven, where decisions are made first for the well being of residents and the empowerment of the staff who care for them. Anything less dishonors the very heart of this profession. With that, I am completely convinced that I am not the person that can do this anymore. I cannot continue to support a company and breathe a culture that doesn’t really exist . What’s really sad, is that our seniors need us, and something has got to change, for their wellbeing.

Grason is the best housekeeper ever!! I had the pleasure of meeting him today while visiting my grandma. He went above and beyond to make conversation and make sure the whole place was clean! I will forever be thankful for my choice to bring my grandma to Bonaventure when there are people like Grason working there!

I have to say this place is amazing! I feel like everything was provided to my father on a silver platter. From the moment we walked in the door on our first visit and all the calls/visits and questions after we were treated with such kindness. Brennan and Sky were absolutely amazing and spoke directly to my dad with respect. Definitely check this place out for your family member!

The experience I had with staff at Bonaventure while searching for a place for my mother was outstanding. I can't say enough about the efficiency, cleanliness, peaceful location and genuine staff. The care team and management were some of the best I've had contact with. The residents were laughing and seemed happy and content. Albany is lucky to have this facility!

I am compelled to leave this review as I recently came in to this location after having many nice and direct conversations with management not to mention a lovely tour of the rooms ( pre Covid19 ) to consider this facility for my mom. But my eyes were opened a bit more as I came in to drop something off and apparently I was not remembered as a potential new customer. So my experience at the front desk and then with that same person in management who had been so kind was quite the opposite when they didn’t know who I was. I felt shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated and that possibly I was really seeing a more realistic viewpoint of how things may go there in real time sadly. Maybe it was just a bad day and obviously things have been stressful but as I observed and listened and spent time to think about it after, I thought no, it was probably a blessing in disguise that I was there by chance as a regular person. It’s a difficult thing to trust someone with a loved one and I wanted so badly to believe I had come across a perfect place for my mom (who fortunately I am in no rush to relocate) but, I don’t feel that good feeling of trust now with the staff. Maybe we will have to stop in again and have lunch, maybe it was just the day? I don’t know. The facility is beautiful and perfectly located for visits from friends and family, it seems so much better for so many reasons than other locations but as I sit with my recent visit/experience my gut feeling is that I would be making a terrible mistake which makes me sad as I felt so completely sure they were going to be the right fit. Take time to investigate and observe any of these kinds of facilities, don’t rush. I have to remind myself that they are a “business”, not home. It will take a lot to change my perspective at this point. Maybe when my mom visits it, she will love it, but I will be on my guard.

When looking for a senior independant living environment for my mother-in-law, we did our due diligence in visiting a number of places in the Lebanon, Corvallis, Albany area. The visit to Bonaventure really sealed the deal for us tho! Yes, the facility is beautiful & well-appointed ... the food good... TONS of activities, many of which are designed to include family & friends of the residents. But what really sealed the deal for us was the staff -- the attention by the staff to my MIL has been wonderful. She feels secure and safe and that her well-being is being looked after by the staff. A special shout-out to Angel, who helped all of us navigate thru this transitional time. During multiple phone and in-person conversations with her, she was continually patient, kind, informative and showed such a heart to find my MIL 'the perfect apartment' right off the bat... which she did!! Angel's enthusiasm for the well-being of my MIL extends out to us as well. My MIL has been living at Bonaventure Albany for almost 4 months and is truly happy.. we know Angel's door is always open to any questions, suggestions or comments.

I have a family member who lives in Bonaventure of Albany, older friends who live there as well, and I have volunteered on numerous occasions for various events. Furthermore, my work takes me into this community on a regular basis. I have seen this Senior Living Community in action in a wide variety of contexts and I like what I have seen and experienced. They are a growing community with competent caring staff. Looking forward to my next visit.

Too high priced for what you..don't...get. Meals are skimpy, and take way too long to get to you (we have sat many times for nearly an hour for dinner) If you don't sit near the kitchen, they pretty much forget about you or ignore you. Food appears to be mostly premade or canned. Apparently, housekeeping gets around 1/2 hour at most to clean an apartment? And then, the only thing I see cleaned (in my folks apartment) might be floors slightly vacuumed and shower/toilet cleaned? Absolutely no dusting or any other cleaning that I see. (I clean homes myself, so I can tell that very little effort or time is spent). This place also a accepts small dogs, but does not provide any place to take dogs to toilet or play that is safe for both dog and owner. Being this building sits along an extremely busy highway, one would think, at least, a short fence would separate the building, parking and highway. But there is none. Personally, it scares me, knowing someone's small dog could very easily escape the hands of a resident and run into the highway with their owner taking chase! To me, the safety of the residents does NOT come before the "curb appeal" from the this highway. After discussing this with my own mother, who has a dog, she WOULD run after pup into that street. There is no encouragement from this place for their residents to enjoy the outdoors during any nice day, at their own leisure. The "back patio" off dining hall has no seating for enjoying meals unless there is an "event". A resident user friendly BBQ would also be nice since no BBQs are allowed at apartments. An area to putt a golf ball, play horse shoes or something...ANYTHING...would be really nice to offer the residents since many do not get out. How about a small garden area?? These folks come to live here to retire...give them a HOME they can enjoy. Not an apartment to waste away in. Being from Central Oregon myself, we have looked at places here and all of the Independent and even Assisted places have these "extras".

I have spent endless hours at Bonaventure of Albany because my mother has been a resident. There are some wonderful aspects of this senior living community. A wonderful hairdresser on site, good front desk coverage during daytime, and a pleasing visual environment, a nice recreation calendar and occasional outings for residents. There are problems, particularly with the meals. Dinner is the absolute worst - not sure where to find seniors who want chili dogs, clam strips, sloppy joes, and other pre-fried foods that are simply warmed for dinner. They have fired and hired multiple chefs but still the dinner meal, in particular is really terrible. They pay the lowest possible wages and have a hard time keeping staff of any kind - so housekeepers, waiters, assistants are all there for short stays because they are always on the hunt for a job that pays a living wage.

A really nice looking place, but very poor in ensuring there is enough staffing to actually provide adequate services. They run out of items frequently, basic items like ketchup and ice cream. Meals can take up to 45 minutes or longer. Much is promised but poor in actual delivery. The floor staff do their best but they need more teammembers to do the job safely and timely.
