My nearly 95 year old aunt moved to Sunrise of Windsor today. Having previously stayed there twice for respite care, this is the ONLY retirement home she would consider when it came time for a permanent move. I can't say enough about the wonderful and caring staff there. Director of Sales Paul went "above and beyond" in making a unit available for her. My aunt was greeted enthusiastically today by the staff, many of whom remembered her from her previous stays (talk about making her feel special!). From the front desk staff (Linda and Connie), Nursing Supervisor Tracy, Paul, housekeeper Laura, all have been so kind in helping me transition my aunt to the next chapter of her life at Sunrise. She is looking forward to seeing old friends, making new friends, and partaking in all the great activities provided there (can you say "bingo!"). Kudos to all at the best retirement residence in Windsor!

This is a place that exhibits love and care on a level I've not seen. They make my mom feel like a queen and she truly deserves it. If you are ever concerned about your parents functioning on their own whether it be cooking, eating, drinking water, bathing, taking medication and driving, this is the place for them. The staff is amazing and I know they will not only be good friends to my mom but with her family as well. Update: Two years later we find ourselves cornered in a mater of 24hrs to make a choice to move mom to the 4th floor (lockdown unit) due to mom trying to exit the building for the second time in 2 years. The first time was still too new even for us we were not sure if she could go our on her own. We were quoted a price for the 4th floor when we first moved mom in but now they had increased the price almost double the quote. Feeling cornered and miss led.

A family member recently moved into Sunrise Assisted Living. I can only sing praise for this community of caregivers and residents alike. Our experience from the moment we walked in for our first meeting to now almost a month later has been nothing short of incredible. Our first thought was this is home. Moving in was easy, elevator available and a cart. Everyone was so inviting and helped to make my brother feel comfortable. Since then staff has been wonderful in meeting any need or request. My brother is thriving in this vibrant and well kept home! I have been performing music at Sunrise since my high school days. I have always found it to be a warm, welcoming community of staff and residents. I am there once or twice a month, and have consistently witnessed the unwavering, caring environment that exists there. Especially so, it's nice to see how hard the staff work to ensure the residents have fun and engaging recreational opportunities, such as the concerts and singalongs that I've taken part in.

This is a long overdue review, and one I feel very necessary after hearing of a very different tale from a friend about a different home. I worked at Sunrise Windsor during the Covid lockdown when staffing globally was a challenge to say the least. I started my career 20 years ago as a PSW, and quickly learned that it was an incredibly difficult life choice as an empathetic human being. Time and money have no place in human care, but that seemed to be the reality in the homes I had been working at, so I coped out and changed my career path. Fast forward 20 yrs in a completely different industry, and not working as there was a world wide pandemic, and seeing a need for folks in the healthcare world, I decided to put that hat on again. I came to work at Sunrise as a fully certified PSW with honours and many other certifications. Sunrise still made it mandatory to go through all of their training, which at the time I thought was overkill, until going through it all and realized the training had a lot of focus on dignity, human rights and actually caring for the residents you are invited to share their home with. I am not at all diminishing the medical aspect here, or all the practical care involved, it's of the utmost importance. But what I experienced in the past was only that and not the bedside human being care that is HUGE. I am a huge fan of this residence, The staff is fantastic and care about the folks who call it home. Which at the end of the day when I am looking for a home for one of my loved ones or myself is a priority. There is much more I can go on about, however the idea is as long as love exists, it will translate in every other thing done. Well done and thank you to the staff of Sunrise Windsor, and much love to the residence who call it home.

Hi my name is Sue. I've been doing chair yoga exercises with the residents at sunrise for 5 years now. I find the staff very accommodating for myself and with the residents. I have seen some residents come and go, however, there are some residents who have been coming to my chair yoga class for 5 years. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I always ask the residents if they like the food. I never get complaints and they are very happy with the food.

The only retirement home that I know of in Windsor and Essex county that can handle all aspects of care, including using lifts to get people in and out of bed, which my dad needed before he passed. My husband and I have been living at Sunrise for 8 months now. Our experience has been terrific. The management and staff love their jobs here and it shows by how they treat the residents with such care. We are not left to pass the time in our room, rather the management organize events such as games and bus trips on the Sunrise bus to different places within the city and areas surrounding Windsor. "Sign up early so you don't mis out". Our health is their utmost concern, and the staff includes nurses 24/7. We are at peace knowing this is where we will live out our our days!

One of the best place to work as the top management takes utmost care of residents, their family & friends, staffs, volunteers and most importantly the vendors, suppliers & contractors. There is a cute pet bunny for residents and staff. Activities and programs are always exciting with full of fun. During pandemic, complete provisions of PPE for each and every member is provided without any compromise in quality and cost of the products. Food services are the best in class. Facility is properly maintained and feels like a real palace from inside. Sufficient parking for everyone. Gaint Canadian flag and Runrise's flags always furling high- shows corporate strengths and solidity of capabilities. Smiling faces of the staffs tells inside stories of the facility. Care facility seems best in class, and all the sections of departments are fully covered including cohorts during Pandemic as well. Company maintains its reputations by delivering with signature qualities. Amazing company and full proof security 24x7.

I have worked at Sunrise of Windsor for 17 years, I have grown up here and Sunrise supported me through many of life accomplishments, offering me opportunity for promotions, flexible hours to complete nursing school and tuition reimbursement. Offering me a full-time nursing role right out of school, and offering many opportunities for growth since. Even assisted our family financially support our family had a very difficult healthcare situation. welcoming our dog in for visits and my children love to visit The people I work with are like family we work closely together and care for each other - I truly believe Sunrise finds so many special people with the biggest hearts and brings them all together under the same roof, and I'm blessed to be apart of this team. I also recommend Sunrise to live we love our residents and family members as our own, and promote advocacy to meet all of each individuals needs. we have even used Sunrise for our grandmothers respite stay after a hip surgery and she was well cared for.

I cannot say enough good things my family and I have experienced with Sunrise. My first experience with Sunrise I showed up unannounced and the two gentle-men Paul & Raymond arose to the occasion to show me the best of what Sunrise had to offer and have continued to support my mom. Since then, Sunrise has become my co-team partners in meeting my mom's needs and wants. On the anniversary of my sister and her son's passing I placed a last minute call to Sunrise during a stressful time and asked if they could face-time my mom with my family at the cemetery. They not only made it happen they did it within 90 minutes and provided her emotional support. They've made special arrangements for my mom to display her outdoor manger at Christmas and statue with flowers in the gardens. When my mom was having difficulty setting up her t.v. her support staff and Justin would patiently take the time to assist her even though they had done it multiple times. When she wants to bake they make it happen. She's met with the chef Kirk many times expressing her likes and dislikes and he was patient with her. They take the time to listen when she's sharing stories from her life, showing pictures of her children and grandchildren and provide comfort when she's missing her family due to the pandemic. When I have concerns about my mom's health the nursing staff take my concerns seriously and get back with me promptly with results and/or suggestions. Even when the supporting staffs are busy they still take a moment to ask my mom how her day is going. The Covid Pandemic has been challenging for all of us, but I've seen first hand how Madeleine and her staff have kept my mom, the residents and each other safe. Even though, my mom was having difficulty being isolated in her room for a period of time, they did it to keep her safe, and we are so glad they did it, because my mom is still with us. And, lastly, I absolutely appreciate the concierge ladies. They're genuinely warm, hospitable and loving human beings. They are patient and always have a smile on their faces.
