I would recommend this facility for any senior looking for a new home. My brother in law lived there after his wife died and became ill with cancer. He was able to continue residing there until he passed away via MAID. The staff were wonderful and most accommodating to my family during this sad time for us. He was treated with respect and kindness with many staff stopping in to say their good bye's. He made many friends there and will be missed by many. My family cannot express enough appreciation for providing him with a wonderful environment in his final time on earth.

A loved one lives at Stouffville Creek Retirement Residence, and I cannot say enough good things about it. She is genuinely happy there, and that means the world to me. She tells me how well she’s treated by the entire staff and often jokes that the PSWs spoil her! From the moment we walked in for the tour, I had a feeling this would be the place she would choose. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and comfortable, exactly the way a home should feel. Sanghita took us on the tour and she was absolutely lovely, making us feel welcomed right away. The food is wonderful (I’ve enjoyed it too!), and the biggest thing for me is the peace of mind knowing she is so well cared for! I’m truly grateful to everyone at Stouffville Creek for creating such a supportive, caring, joyful place for their residents.

My father recently decided after a 30-day trial that he felt comfortable living at the Stouffville Creek Retirement Residence. He really enjoys the amazing meals, his 3 table mates, the friendly staff, and the flexibility of being able to have breakfast in his room each morning. We recently celebrated my parents’ 69th anniversary in the dining hall and the staff went the second mile decorating with a personalized Happy Anniversary sign, table decorations and a delicious meal. A special thank you to Grace, Liselle and Sangeetha who have given special attention and shown care and flexibility to help my dad during this important time of adaptation. Thank-you to all the staff at Stouffville Creek.

Kind staff, super clean, and a great location! Residents and staff at Stouffville Creek are kind and welcoming. The staff here clearly care about the residents and get to know them on a personal level, which you don't see at every retirement home. The entire place is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are finished nicely and are very cozy. The location is great! It's walking distance to very cute cafes, shopping, and a go train station, so you get the benefits of being near Toronto without any of the downsides. Also makes it easy for family in the city to visit. Overall, it's honestly so much nicer than other retirement homes, and you just feel the staff's positive energy as soon as you step inside.

I was surprised to see a lot of reviews here on Google from staff and former staff, not very impartial but hey that’s business. My parents have been in Stouffville Creek at 40 Freel for 8 months the facility already on its 2nd Manager and has had 3 health and wellness managers in the short time. I wonder why? Although they do a wonderful attempt at making seniors comfortable for the money they are mostly not meetings expectations. They have no doctor on site, few trips other than a one van trip a week to the bank, the food is all fried McDonald’s style fast food albeit they recently brought in guest chef who was great. This is a for profit private facility that will cash your cheques and not return your calls. The sales person (Hi Sang) who was so involved in getting my parents and I to onboard has all but disappeared after the cheque was cleared. The overworked Management and staff make promises and often deliver but have a communication issues meaning they seldom return emails unless you relentlessly contact them via LinkedIn and other socials. Frankly if my father (moving him would be a nightmare with dementia) and now mother weren’t so sick and long term care and other retirement homes didn’t have wait lists I’d move them out. My Loft and Ontario Health at Home supports have been rock steady but even they are questioning the ability to partner with Stouffville Creek after staff upheaval, no communication and covid and flu outbreaks this Winter of 2024/2025. The state of private retirement homes are atrocious and this place is perfect example of this. I blame the Ontario Government deep cuts to healthcare and aged care but also Verve Senior Living who have little or no accountability at this property. A 2 bedroom $7400 plus service around 10k plus a month. Good Luck getting a refunds on services missed or customization of your services bc they can’t or won’t make it work. I am hopeful things are improving but it is not without the tireless work of residents kids and POA.

A difficult decision for anyone to make on behalf of their loved ones to opt for a retirement residence and especially during the covid lock-down. Michelle Uniacke made this transfer amazingly easy. I would like to take this opportunity to official thank her and her staff for going beyond the normal to make this move efficient with empathy and caring. Each step along the way she has been there describing what was needed, by when, and the easiest way to accomplish the move. Her kindness and professionalism was evident at every turn. There were no surprises and each decision was made knowing that I had her support and guidance. The communication with general management is stressful and difficult. Communication is not just about newsletters and memos, it is the day to day responses to queries and concerns by management that sets the tone for the environment. The argumentative approach and accusatory tone does little to build relationship. We can only hope that over time management will make building respectful working relationships with residents and their families a priority, rather than an afterthought.

My Mum has been a resident at Stouffville Creek for almost 7 years and has loved every minute of her time there. The staff.. from the Nurses reception...managers...dining room and kitchen....and service staff are totally committed to the wellbeing care of the residents. It has an amazing energy and feeling of friendliness with activities taking place every day. There are weekly outing to shopping or the bank , picnics in the park or bus rides to the local lakes. The residents mingle well either at coffee in the Bistro or outside at the lovely gazebo surrounded by hanging baskets and flowers. Nearby Main St. in Stouffville has many shops and is a great place to take a little walk..not too far! I would recommend Stouffville Creek without hesitation !
