Considering new living accommodations after a lifetime of living in your own home is not easy. The people at The Waldorf made the initial tour 100% positive. Walford Sudbury has been a saving grace for my Mom! Previously at another residence, The Walford provided more of an "at home" feeling in a beautiful quiet neighbourhood in Sudbury's south end. The staff are all very friendly & caring and they have such a great time entertaining their residents with activities, musical entertainment and special treats including campfires in season, popcorn and ice cream. Bingo & shuffleboard are two of Mom's favourite things to do here. Trina is simply the best and really takes her job to heart!

My grandfather moved into the Walford last fall. He appeared to really enjoy his time there. ALL of the staff were so kind and observant. They always went above and beyond for him, and for that, we are so grateful. Big thank you to the staff and Trina for making him feel comfortable during his time there.

My parent resides at The Walford Sudbury. Although I live out of province, I feel confident that my mother’s needs and requests are met through the thoughtful attention of The Walford Sudbury’s dedicated staff. Recently, my mother required some attention and not being close caused me some anguish for not being able to support her. Trina, the Activities Coordinator, became my contact and through our communication we we’re able to efficiently resolve the situation. Being able to distantly be involved in my mother’s care through such a caring and communicative staff is invaluable to me. From my point of view, as someone who lives out of province with no ability to just drop in to help my mother, having this personal support from Trina, is in no small part, the reason I have been able to maintain my mother’s quality of life she so deserves. When my mom moved into The Walford last Christmas she was nervous and fearful of the unknown. Trina immediately welcomed her with open arms. Thanks to Trina's events my mom has been more social than she ever has been. She is always talking about the dog visits, the music, the entertainers but especially the ice cream socials. I met Trina at Walford when she help organized our Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. We ended our walk at the residence. We got to chat and found out there were 3 rooms available. My sister & I booked a tour... we were so excited. Trina offered to keep a room for us as we were looking for a room for our mother. We droped off all papers. Trina was superbe, we organized a second viewing with our mom. We visited and were totally happy with the results. Trina was amazing in securing a place for our parent, held on to this room for 2 months. Sadly when the moving date arrived we were no longer looking for a retirement residence but a long term care. Trina understood our delima.. and wished us good luck and hopefully things would be better for our mother. We are so thankful for everything Trina did everything to make sure our mother was welcomed at the Walford, a load off our hearts. Trina certainly went above & beyond to accommodate us. MERCI.

During our regular walk we go upto the end of Walford where it joins Paris Street and about 100 feet on the side of the road we have this stream which will be in full flow during spring and summer. It goes and joins the Ramsey lake. The spectacle is pleasing to the eyes. A few yards towards Regent Street you can see a water park for the children upto 12 years which works during the summer.

My mom lived st the Walford for a few years shortly after they opened and now my brother and his wife are residing there. The staff throughout the years have been absolutely wonderful. Trina is exceptional She goes above and beyond and she puts her whole heart into everything she does for the residents Covid has been rough both on the staff and the residents and hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.

Went on a tour of this place with my grandmother, the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and gave a good explanation of how it would work. The facility was clean and the residents seemed to like it there. We went to the bake sale they were having and again, they were all very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this retirement home. Thank you for all your help with my grandmother!

New management has been great, and Trina, the activities coordinator, is amazing at what she does. The residences love all of the activities and outings she plans - Barbecues out in the country, games nights, she invites outside entertainment in, makes genuine fun for all.

We have entrusted our parent to the care of The Walford. It was our preferred choice in the Sudbury region during our research. The entire Walford staff have always represented themselves very professionally. They are very courteous, considerate and respectable to their residents’ personalities and peculiarities. I consider all the staff an extended part of our family. Many retirement homes are similar but the benefit a staff can bring to a residence is invaluable. The staff reflect the definition of enterprising, undertaking the task, sometimes a complex one, to place their residents in a clean and safe environment. Our Grams said as far back as I can remember that when she was ready to move to a retirement home, The Walford Sudbury is where it would be.... and so she did! Grams has been there for many years now and is always happy and boastful about her royal accommodations. She has a spacious suite, wonderful food service, and many activities to participate in when she'd like, all meticulously prepared by staff for the residents. The last few years have been challenging for everyone, but the Walford has done an incredible job at keeping residents safe and supporting them through a global pandemic. We are grateful for everyone at the Walford and, as always, look forward to our next visit.

I help out as a volunteer with senior activities and would like to say that at The Walford, the activity director and her staff work tirelessly to provide recreational activities for residents to stay busy, happy and healthy. A few examples of activities provided for the residents include celebrating special occasion/seasonal holidays, arts and crafts, bingo, music night, tea parties/socials, pet therapy, gardening and daytime excursions. The care and thoughtfulness of the planned activities engage and enrich the lives of The Walford residents.
