My mom has been a long time resident at Palermo Village. She has a beautiful suite with a great view that she has been able to decorate and make her home. The on-site leadership and the whole team are very engaged in looking after the home and the needs of the residents. The condition of the home is very clean and almost looks like new. Residents have input and direct line to Management through a Resident Council. There is a good selection of food choices to meet resident preferences. All in all, it’s been a great place for her to call home and she feels very at home in such a warm and caring environment.

I moved my mom into this retirement home and she is thriving here! She tells me daily how much she loves her new home. She is kept busy with activities from morning until the evening. They were able to accommodate her vegetarian needs which was huge for her. The staff and residents are so wonderful, warm and friendly and she has made so many amazing friends and memories already!! From the front desk reception to the servers, the nurses and everyone who works there.. they are amazing! Special shout out to Kaytee and Prit for making her feel so welcome from the start° Just wanted to add to my review that Jerwin helped my mom immensely by contacting me when she fell. His quick response allowed my mom to get the care she needed promptly. The entire nursing team at Palermo is amazing!!

My mother had an excellent respite stay at Palermo. She enjoyed her two weeks there, and we would easily recommend Palermo to friends and family. The suite was spacious, the dining room was lively, the menu was varied and delicious, and the common areas were immaculate and elegant. Most of all, we appreciated the staff. All of the staff we encountered were kind, caring, helpful, and attentive. Management staff are organized and possess exceptional communication skills, making it a pleasure to correspond with them. Palermo has been amazing for my mom, she moved in about 6months ago, she is always saying how she enjoys it. We toured other retirement facilities, but fell in love with Palermo and its staff. Prit (manager) was Very accommodating and understanding my moms needs And was able Help us get my mom into a suite before she sold her house. Also, it is very clean and all staff is extremely friendly. The cuisine is very good. Every time that I have joined her for dinner or lunch I have left pleased with what I have eaten. Every time I ask my mom, how was dinner or lunch? She says it was delicious The Chef is doing an amazing job coming up with different meals all the time and the Waitstaff is extremely friendly and knows everyone’s name. I am very pleased with what Palermo Has been doing with my mom. She has been extremely happy and enjoys living there I have already been recommending Palermo to colleagues of mine so whose parents are ageing and looking into retirement facilities. My mom is in the right place with Palermo and I trust that they take care of her. I would give Palermo 10 stars if there is an option.

What a vibrant and welcoming community! My Dad has been looking for a new place to call home and we have hit the jackpot! We toured a lot of retirement villages, but shout out to Kaytee T who asked my Dad first thing (after offering him his favourite beverage and some snacks) what his interests are rather than pushing the Palermo program on him. This remarkable approach made my Dad feel so comfortable and seen. This community truly has a welcoming spirit, my Dad has only just moved in and on the first day he was invited to have lunch with another resident. The activity schedule is jam packed! There are many opportunities to socialize and be active. Painting, axe throwing (foam- lol) weekly outings No more SAD Saturdays! The weekend calendar is filled with a beautiful variety of enriched events, so if I can’t visit, my Dad has other things happening. This is huge relief. My dad is a big music lover (growing up he was the one with the guitar, singing around the campfire) and Palermo has music in spades! From their glee club (grab a chair and sing oldies together) to ukulele sessions or actual music performances there’s something for everyone at any level and interest. A lot of their initiatives are resident lead (and staff supported) which is so refreshing. Every staff member we have encountered from reception to maintenance to hospitality ALL acknowledge you and say hello. (Am I at Disneyland?!) It’s evident the team really care and go the extra mile to make feel residents included and valued. I appreciate that they speak to my Dad (and all residents) with dignity and respect. I’m excited and relieved to see my Dad flourish and thrive at Palermo and truly live out his golden years. ’’’’’

Have run into many of the staff here who give me the impression that they were born for the type of work they do, which is not easy. Courteous, caring, helpful and kind are just a few of the adjectives that apply to them. Management staff are also available and will go out of their way to help resolve any problem which might arise. From the first day I walked through the front door at Palermo I had a wonderful feeling about the place. Very homey and friendly and oh so comfortable. Now after 4 years living here I must say those feelings still persist . The staff cannot be beat””always ready to be of help and a great sense of humour. Making a person feel like part of the family. Having a wonderful property to enjoy and walk around””-giving that feeling of being in the country, certainly adds to its uniqueness . Spent a great deal of time checking out retirement residences in Oakville. The value, location, entertainment, food, and other Amenities drew me to this location. However it was the staff that made the difference. I once read on a church lawn a sign that said happiness is not doing what you like it's liking what you have to do. It would appear that everyone who works here loves being here and that translates out into a positive and wholesome environment that makes it truly a pleasure to participate in. It's like being in a 5 star hotel where you know all of your neighbors and everyone is your friend. Cheers eat your heart out. Oh yes and $3 beer on Fridays what could be better. Update: Been here one year still sane (mostly) having a blast. Food is awesome and the staff outstanding.

I’ve lived at Palermo for 6 wonderful years, and I truly feel at home and safe here. The community is beautifully maintained, inside and out. We have two gazebos and lovely flowers that make for peaceful walks and quiet places to sit and enjoy the day. One of the best parts of living here has been the friendships I’ve made. I love chatting with my neighbors and taking part in the entertainment and activities”whether it’s golf, games, or outings on the Palermo bus. The staff are kind, respectful, and always call me by my name. The managers have an open-door policy and are easy to talk to, and it's due to Sandra the General Manager's leadership, with her i feel everything runs smoothly, and she is very helpful with any concerns I bring to her. As for the food, I enjoy it overall. While not everything is to my taste, the kitchen is always accommodating and makes sure I get something I do like. Palermo has become my home, and I truly wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

My mother-in-law Marlene spent 2 weeks post hip-surgery at Palermo Village and was extremely pleased with her time there!! Here are her comments: Everyone was very welcoming and the care was amazing. The PSW support was wonderful right from the moment she got there from the hospital. One PSW in particular, Millie, provided the best of care with her positive attitude and enthusiasm. She had her down for dinner to meet the other residents and get social time in within 2 days! The suite she was in felt like a home away from home, having a spacious design, an automated reclining chair, an accessible washroom and kitchenette. The dining experience was excellent with a varied menu that was well planned and always delicious. The activities that she participated in during her stay included attending the church service in the chapel, accessing the library and visiting the gym along with the larger social activities. There was always a schedule of events posted and staff support and encouragement to join in. Thank you to all the staff at Palermo Village for making her transition back to mobility a safe, comfortable and enjoyable one. xx From Marlene

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit Palermo to explore its luxurious amenities and services that have been highly recommended. Palermo Village Retirement Residence offers state of the art services for its residents and staff and have a sense of community amongst everyone who is a part of this retirement community. The residents are genuinely well taken care of and I can see that they are comfortable and happy to be living in such a high quality of life. The dining area is impeccable for its hygienic and classy dining experience, not to mention the scrumptious food by their culinary chef! There is a lot of love and warmth throughout the community and a sense of belonging and safety. All the rooms, regardless of staff room or executive rooms, are very immaculate and tastefully decorated to feel a sense of homely comfort and I wouldn’t batter an eyelid to highly recommend Palermo to my friends and their families either. I must say, Sandra, the General Manager, has excelled in keeping the Palermo Retirement community what it is today.

Due to an unfortunate situation last December, I had to make the decision to move my 93 years old Mom to Ontario from Quebec. Needless to say, not easy to do after leaving her hometown and own home. Fortunately my Daughter and I discovered Palermo Village Retirement Residence in Oakville, ON. We were greeted by Linda and from the fist hello, we knew this was going to be a really good fit for Mom. Linda encouraged us to come by anytime and ask questions. We were also introduced to other Team members which were absolutely wonderful. We moved Mom in May 2023 and although Mom had not even visited the location prior to moving in, the transition went fairly well. The transition was better than what we all expected. She met some lovely Ladies, (her friends now) and is very happy at Palermo. Palermo made us feel very welcomed from the beginning and have demonstrated nothing but care, concern and cooperation consistently. The staff goes far beyond their own responsibilities to ensure that our family member are very well taken cared of. The meals are very well balanced and our family members could still keep their ind©pendance by selecting which meal they prefer. Rest assure, they will never be disappointed!. The Residence also offers a wide selection of activities/entertainment daily and 7 days a week!. Something for everyone! All this to say that Mom is very happy to be living at Palermo Residence and the care provided is exceptional, the facility itself is outstanding & very clean and provides a comfortable and safe environment. This facility is wonderful. It has everything anyone could want or need. During our tour, we saw how everyone who worked there knew each resident’s name and greeted them with it. It wasn’t a forced interaction. It was a genuine and sincere exchange, indicating to me the care and compassion everyone is shown. Palermo is in a great location, with peaceful grounds and outdoor areas. There are numerous activities through out the day, no one would ever be bored. They offer shopping trips and other events. The main dining room is beautiful and bright. The menu is extensive and offers something for each palette. There is a library, exercise room, theatre, spa, and on site medical care. We have been fortunate enough to have dealings and more than one tour with Prit. He is the epitome of professionalism, understanding, and compassion. His patience is seemingly endless. He understands the situation and is delicate in his reference to it. He is charming, witty, and a delight to be around. He extends his service to all with follow up and concern. He doesn’t push or pressure anyone, he is fantastic to deal with and offers a high level of customer care and satisfaction. Take a tour and check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

I had the opportunity to have my Mom stay at Palermo Village for a 2 week Respite stay. Well let's say she was reluctant to go however by Day 2 she was loving every moment. She couldn't believe how much she loved being at Palermo. She made friends and enjoyed dining with them and participating in a variety of activities. Everything was excellent from the ease of setting everything up to move in day and beyond. Linda and her team welcomed her like family and were there to answer my many questions giving me peace of mind as I traveled. Richard in the dining room was always attentive and introduced her to her dining companions. I would highly recommend Palermo Village.

I reached out to set up a tour at Palermo and received a response promptly from Prit. We met Prit as we walked in and were instantly impressed by his professionalism, but also casual nature that really connected with my parents. We sat down in the beautiful bistro to talk about all of the amenities and Prit was wonderful. After offering us lunch, we began to discuss the lifestyle at Palermo. He was very informative and easy to talk to. My parents loved his demeanor. We toured a few suites and were very impressed by the quality and size of the apartments. Palermo Village is wonderful - no other way to put it. My dad loved his big windows, and spent much time out on his balcony. All of the staff are so friendly and kind, especially when Dad's health took a downward turn - they provided him with all the compassion and care of a family member. The COVID response was amazing - so safe, and even when the residents were unable to visit with others, the staff kept them connected and engaged. The size of Palermo Village is perfect - big enough for amenities, and small enough that everyone knows each other - a real home. I cannot recommend Palermo Village enough - if you are looking for a new, carefree home - this is it!

I wanted to pass along a big thank you to all the Palermo staff for the support you gave our mother. Our Mom required extra attention and we were very pleased with the gentle and comforting way the staff took care of our mom. Palermo also offered mom companionship and togetherness. Most times when we dropped in, we found mom was involved in friendly conversation with the many residents. Palermo also offered many activities to fill mom's days, from small outings, to movies and bingo nights. She really did enjoy those extras. My Mum and Dad moved into Palermo in March, 2020, just as Covid started. They felt comfortable and welcomed from the very first day. When my Dad passed away a few months later my Mum moved out of Palermo to live with family. When she felt comfortable being on her own again, she chose to return to Palermo. Although we visited several other retirement homes Palermo came out on top. It is a safe, comfortable and caring place.

My parents moved into Palermo when the facility was brand new. There was only one other man and one lady already moved in, so they were the second. Once they settled in, their quality of life improved so much. Their two bedroom suite was large and bright and the building was lovely. They soon started enjoying going down to the dining room for meals and in the mornings, my dad enjoyed tidying up after breakfast. My dad became ill a year after moving in and everyone at Palermo was so kind and helpful throughout this very difficult time. I don't know what I would have done without their support. Thereafter, my mother moved over to a one-bedroom plus den and lived there happily and secure in her surroundings. She was so proud of her suite in the residence. I can't say enough about the comfort and help the staff at Palermo was to me for the duration of my parents lives at this residence. I would highly recommend it to anyone whose parents are ready to leave the stress of daily life and simply enjoy each day as it unfolds. Finally, a closing point I think is important. Palermo is a medium-sized facility and as such, gives residents the opportunity to get to know one-another. Some of the residences are so huge they require multiple dining areas and when they get too big, they lose that closeness between residents and staff. It really is the ideal size to feel like a real neighborhood and it has an ambiance that you can feel as soon as you come in the door.

My mother and father resided at Palermo Village Retirement residence and were overjoyed with the openness of their unit, especially the large windows and balcony. All staff were extremely friendly, especially Aimee and Mylene, along with the nursing staff who were consistently professional, caring and compassionate with my parents (A big thank you to Rhincess for coordinating the required nursing care) Kudos to all nursing staff / PSW's for keeping everyone safe during Covid. They both enjoyed the delicious meals in the dining room, noting on a regular basis how much they loved the food. The cleanliness is apparent from the moment you walk into the front lobby, around the hallway to the elevators and up to the apartment. The attention to detail is obvious everywhere you look. Unfortunately my mother passed and we had to place my father into a Long Term Care facility. My sister and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Palermo Village Retirement Residence for providing a superior living experience for both our parents.

It became very apparent when we moved my mother to Palermo Retirement Village that a distinctive characteristic of life at this residence is the sense of happiness and harmony that is felt throughout the home. We took great comfort in knowing that our mother was surrounded by people willing to go out of their way to make every day the best it can be for her in a clean and healthy environment. Palermo's response to the COVID19 pandemic has been exceptional. Even when they had to enforce strict guidelines regarding social distancing, we still felt there was a rich sense of community at this retirement home. The staff are genuinely friendly and deserve praise for their compassionate treatment of each resident. What's clearly noticeable is how care is enhanced with kind-heartedness and a personal touch from all employees “ including dining & kitchen staff, personnel support workers, nurses, maintenance, administrative and management. It is very apparent that staff love working here, and seniors love living here.
