Food is excellent. The chef takes great care in asking all the residents about their satisfaction with the food. Lots of variety and options with every meal and very healthy. I would also like to mention one Manager at Crystal View Lodge. She is, in my opinion, the cog in the wheel of the Lodge. She cares deeply about the place. I have witnessed her doing laundry when there is a staff shortage. working in the kitchen, serving food, whatever it takes to keep things running smoothly. One day I let her know that my Mom's battery on her smoke alarm had shorted. She had changed it in the next 5 minutes! Zofia, thank you for all that you do. I am so glad you are there.

Staff goes out of their way to help everyone. Especially Sarah- my wife came home from hospital in the middle of winter with no coat and boots- Sarah greeted her at the van and assisted her all the way to the room- she was in tears. My wife can not eat certain food- there are alternates that she can choose from or they try to accommodate the best they can. My wife says- Betty( Resident Ambassador) goes out of her way to make you feel at home and welcomes you to all activities, and does a fair bit around the community.

Pretty well everything impresses me. I have been visiting for 10 years so it was a easy decision for me. Crystal View Lodge has exceeded my expectations and standard has been upheld over the years. I find the food very good. Community is clean. Lots of activities to meet all interests- great opportunity to socialize. Staff are terrific. One thing that has impressed me. It's a real community. You don't feel there is any division. Everyone treats each other with respect staff and residents alike.

I am happy in my home. Do not want to move away because I have plenty of friends here. The entertainment is great. The food is consistently getting better. I do not have to shop for it, cook it or clean dishes and that is good on me. The staff meet all of my criteria's! The Christmas party for 2025 was today and my brother, who is a resident, and I had a great time. Music, dancing, Santa Clause and a very good turkey meal with all the trimmings. I wish I could transfer some very good pictures of this magic day. I visit my brother almost every week and eat lunch or dinner with him. what a treat. The staff and program administrators show by their actions that they care. The place is clean and the Atrium brings in the sun which warms life. Take time and visit this wonderful independent retirement home.

I had a failed knee replacement. Before the surgery, I was hoping to take long walks after dinner, but my whole life blew up and I could no longer drive a car, walk without a walker, or live independently. I came into CVL with severe pain and feeling extremely disabled and I arrived *most* reluctantly. I did not want to be here! And most of the people are about 15 years older than me. But it's been 6 months now and I feel very safe and comfortable here. The building is pretty and the aesthetics are nice. It's very clean and the staff is wonderful. I'm particularly fond of management and they have gone out of their way to make me feel at home. I don't like the food at all except for breakfast but in general I would recommend CVL highly.

I find this place is clean, staff is very interested in helping everyone and making sure that residence are enjoying themselves. I am Jewish- staff and residents go out of their way to make me feel comfortable, and learning about my holidays and religion. With being Jewish- Crystal View does serve protein meals daily that I may not be able to eat- however there are always alternatives I am able to get each meal. Lorna does an amazing job cleaning my apartment every week and as gone out of her way to make me happy. Residents look out for each other and notice when someone is upset. Logan and Darcy are always there with a big smile on while serving you food! I think Sarah is defiantly a positive addition to the staff. She is perfect for her position here!

I moved in to Crystal View Lodge two years ago and I absolutely love it! I like the people here. They are thoughtful and fun. I love the privacy that they provide. I like the entertainment. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cleaners do an excellent job with the common areas. The food service for lunch and breakfast is done well/ timely. Suppers and weekend staff over all are pleasant and work hard but could be a little more timely. Special mention for Emma, Denzil, Siva, Andrea, and Lorna. The food while not always to my liking, they serve around 130-140 meal per sitting. There is also multiple alternatives with 2 hot meals as well as sandwiches and salads. I have had many interactions with Zofia & Sarah over my 4.5 years and enjoyed our conversations. Sarah has been very helpful and is willing to go the extra mile for the residents. There are a variety of activities for residents daily along with outings to the malls. Bob the driver is great with the residents, kind and patient. They have a Library, tv room with a large screen tv and a bit of a games/exercise room. I would and have recommended this residence to others. Niraj starts my morning with a conversation everyday.

Moved in September 2022. Much smaller than I am used to. Friendly staff and residents. Food quality and quantity has decreased since last September. Light housekeeping has also decreased in quality. Serving Kool aid type beverage in dining room for the last few months and wait staff are told it's cranberry juice. It is not ! I advised management, and nothing changed. ” I moved out in August 2023. Unfortunately things were decreasing in quality. Manager is not sensitive to residents needs. Costs for my unit was to increase $400 per month after only one year. They put most of the increase in service costs so not covered under rent controls. Seems to be a decrease in quality of most services. I moved a bought a condo where the residents are all seniors and am much happier here. I get same PSW service here and can have most things delivered to the apt.

My mother was taken to hospital September 10th via ambulance. She was released at midnight. The night porter was extremely helpful and ensured she got transportation back to Crystal View Lodge. She communicated with the hospital and myself. She made sure my mom arrived back safely. She kept me informed through out the entire process and let me know once my mom was back in her suite. This situation seemed difficult at the beginning but the end result was seamless.

After researching 37 Senior residences in west Ottawa, we landed at Crystal View and we were cheerfully greeted by Sarah for a tour. Great experience-my mother in law loved it and decided this was the place for her. Although she has yet to move in, we have all met Niraj, Zophia and other staff members. They make the place feel like it is home. The residents that we interacted with all appeared happy. Isn’t that what we all want for the later years for our loved ones? We had no idea of what we were doing but Sara was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. My Mother was in hospital and we were unsure if she would be able to return home. Sara knew this and still made every effort. What a great experience we had , thank you Sara and Crystal View lodge. Staff are good. Facility needs maintenance. There were mice in my father’s unit and they blamed him. They put poison under his sink, close to a storage bin with coffee in it, and didn’t advise us, even though they knew that he has dementia and that we manage him. We found the trap ourselves, with a mouse struggling in it, when we were changing his garbage. We were told it would have to wait until Monday when maintenance was back in. One of the women from the desk took care of it for us. After he moved out, in Feb, a full month’s services were taken from his account in April, well after his final payment. This was also after I was first told,by the GM, that he’d only get back a small portion when I knew from our paperwork that it was everything but the rent. I wanted the $ back quickly, he’s a senior on a pension, with his new rent about to come out, and this was their error. I had to argue with the GM and was talked down to about it, my concern was devalued when I wouldn’t accept next month as an answer. I was told that Leo Mirabile, an RVP, would call me but he never did. In the end our credit was applied quickly, with no more follow up, but I don’t like how we were treated.

That place is great. This is the third retirement community we have dealt with over the years. Our mom is happy there. happier now than she has been for years. It has been over a year since she moved in and the staff have been great to her and for her. In all the times I have been there, I have noticed the place is always well maintained, clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is always calm and friendly unless there is a party or some kind of entertainment. My family went there for our mom's birthday. The staff set us up in a private room, and served us like a nice restaurant. They took orders and were mindful of specific eating necessities. The food was good, the service was great and the overall experience has made my family appreciate the services provided by Crystal view.

Words cannot describe how outstanding the care and support my father receives from the staff at Crystal View Lodge at Centrepoint. The staff is caring, kind and Look after the best interest of the seniors. The centerpoint location is impeccable and in the summer there are flowers all over the building and it is so welcoming to families and residents who live there. My fathers apartment is gorgeous and Rafael their property manager is always available to fix anything that needs adjustment. He is super nice!! There are many activities for the seniors such as happy hour, ice cream social, and they also have various singers who entertain them amongst other events. Pictures are often posted on their Facebook page for families to view which is wonderful My father enjoys the food and in fact he gained 10 pounds because he loves to eat the meals. Thank you to Niraj, Zophia, Sarah, Heather and Sherry for always being so amazing. You truly are incredible people and we can’t thank you enough for making my dad feel so cared for. My Mom's staying there and has been there for about a month. So far things are very nice indeed. The room is great, and has its own a/c unit and heating controls. Lots of closet space. The indoor shared facilities are well-maintained (library, pool table, exercise equipment, games room, video/TV room, etc. The grounds are well-tended and they have pretty gardens throughout. I got a little bit of 'Mexico resort' feel from the architecture and layout. The staff are very friendly, and the other residents have been very kind and welcoming to her. The place has a nice feel, in every way. Some of the rooms have their own washer/dryer and oven/stove. The ground floor rooms open to the outside, but also inwards to the main building. The dining room is grand, well-lit and has a nice high ceiling. The food is great, the menu is published well in advance, and the portions are generous. College Square Mall is about 1.6 km away - about a 5 minute drive. I called from home to ask them to help my Mom fix something in her room and they came over to her room within a few minutes. I'm really pleased at what they've put together there. I hope they're still going strong when we need a place.
