Thanks to the amazing staff at Carleton Place Terrace my mother recovered from her recent fall. She was treated with dignity and compassion. From the dining staff to the nursing staff and everyone in between Carleton Place Terrace was warm and inviting. My mother flourished in their care. She says she is not ready for a retirement residence but hopes that when that day comes Carleton Place Terrace will have space for her. In the meantime she plans on visiting her lunch ladies for the occasional lunch after she leaves. Thank you to everyone from our entire family for giving my mother a safe and loving place to recover.

The staff are absolutely amazing! Our Dad was here for 60 days for respite care (96 years old). Everyone was so welcoming and inclusive. He had a couple of great hair cuts by Sharon in the salon, meals with friends 3 times a day, great live music events, more food than he could possibly eat, great medical attention, especially after a brief emergency stay. The event coordinators, food staff, property manager, the front reception people, the entire staff including the CEO...everyone was available, inviting, understanding, compassionate, while always being professional. Because of this great care, Dad was able to return to his own home after his recovery. Can't thank them enough!

Our Mom moved into CP Terrace over a year ago after a lengthy hospital stay with an imminent discharge. Due to her ongoing and increasing medical conditions she could not safely return home. We reached out to the Terrace and they very quickly assessed her needs, developed a Care Plan and she was comfortably accommodated in her suite. The stress we had felt having to move Mom evaporated the moment she arrived. We all were welcomed with open arms, fussed over and felt like a blended family. The staff notify us immediately if there are concerns and they follow up. The monthly social and recreational calendar encompasses a variety of interests and abilities for all Residents. The parties are fabulous! At the age of 89 years Mom still smokes and the staff ensure she gets out on her patio to do so come "snow, sleet, rain or hail". God Bless them ™. The longevity of staff's tenure certainly speaks to their dedication and commitment to the residents they work for. We cannot express enough how impressed we are with the Carleton Place Terrace. The level of care provided is truly exceptional. We had found the Terrace for a respite stay for relatives over a year ago and they are still there! From the moment they arrived, it was clear that the staff were dedicated and compassionate. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The activity calendar is always full. A special mention must go to the CEO, Dawn, whose leadership is evident in every aspect of the facility. Her commitment and hands-on approach are inspiring. We have witnessed firsthand the positive and nurturing environment that she has created for both staff and residents. Communication with families is excellent, with regular updates. We were always worried, but now we feel confident that our relatives are eating well and receiving not just good physical care, but emotional support as well. The Terrace is now their home and community. If you are looking for a long-term care home where residents are truly cared for and valued, we highly recommend the Carleton Place Terrace.

My mother recently was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour at the age of 84. She had been living alone for 10 years and I tried to convince her to accept a retirement home for the last 3 years as I know how social she is and loves to be around people. But she was stubborn. Due to her heath I convinced her to visit Carlton Place Terrace. She accepted a room with them. Unfortunately it was a short stay (about 3 months) and passed away from the cancer. But I can tell you I’ve never seen her so happy in the last 5 years. The entertainment, socializing, group activities, exercise classes and special outings was a blessing for her. Not to mention the food. I visited her every day and can say with confidence she was extremely well cared for and kept active. Dawn the CEO is wonderful and always available. I can’t say enough good things about The Carleton Place Terrace. My mom has been living there for over a year, and it has been a most positive experience for our family. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Any concerns we have are addressed and communication is exceptional . . . . Staff are quick to make contact when needed, and our comments are always well received. Mom’s needs have changed considerably since she has moved into The Terrace, and the level and type of care she receives has adapted as needed. The homey atmosphere is so welcoming; I am often greeted by the aroma of freshly baked cookies, and the range of activities offer something for everyone.We are very grateful for the knowledge, care and compassion of the staff. My parents have been residents at CP Terrace for over a year now. The transition from living in your own home to assisted living is not an easy one for many. My father in particular was strongly independent and wished to remain in is home until the end. At the Terrace, there is a home like atmosphere, not a cold institutional type feel. The staff at the Terrace are excellent. Having spent a lot of time there I have witnessed many interactions between them and numerous residents not just my folks. They show kindness, patience and respect without being condescending. Several staff members have been there for years and it is evident that they have a heart for this type of challenging but rewarding work. (Sharon, Debra & Mary to name a few) . A special shout out to Marie and Alicia who have gone above & beyond. Residents have access to a local family doctor- Dr. Bastin-Millar. She has been great! Caring, kind and very accessible. Management is quick to respond to any issues and concerns. They work with you on all aspects of your loved one's care plan. Management has been transparent in my dealings with them. From my observations they are very invested and hands on around the retirement home. The CEO is very approachable and she has been a huge positive since arriving in May 2023. The past few years have been challenging for healthcare and especially long term care but I would not hesitate to recommend Carleton Place Terrace to family or friends.

My mother moved into the Terrace recently for what my sisters and I anticipated would be a short term respite stay. However, it unexpectedly turned into a terminal palliative care residency. The staff at the Terrace were able to accommodate her change in situation and medical status very smoothly and made her last days as comfortable as possible. This allowed Mom to pass away with a level of grace and dignity that exceeded our expectations. Everyone showed great caring and compassion towards both Mom and our family. Thanks to Dawn, Amy and the rest of the staff for making this difficult experience easier to handle. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend the Terrace for respite care.

Liz was amazing in getting my parents moved in on very short notice and giving them the accommodations that they required. Dad passed soon after and the staff has been extremely supportive to my mom. There were a few glitches but nothing that was serious. Overall, I think this is a great place and they are still working with my mom to make her time there comfortable.

The food there is not fit to eat or give to a dog. The care is not good and some of the staff aren’t nice and are very rude to the people living there. I had my mom therefor 6 months and I’m moving her out for the money charged for rent and food is far too much for what they are getting it’s not worth the money it’s too much and they don’t take good care or doing anything with the residents. I would think twice of living here or putting your love one here.

They have been so helpful with the whole process, and have made things so easy and seamless. I know that my Mom is safe and is being so well-cared for. Having relatives in other big city facilities, I have been able to observe the difference that Carleton Place Terrace offers, when I attended many meetings and events here. From my opinion, it is all because of the dedication of the Executive Director and her team. They truly care about the residents and treat them like family. It shows in the innovative programming, the safety protocols, and the quality of food. Everything seems geared towards keeping the residents engaged, and mentally and physically healthy. No wonder Carleton Place Terrace fared so well while other facilities struggled with Covid cases.

CP Terrace is always present when needed at community events and celebrations. Having to accept that it is time for a parent or parents to move into a Senior’s Residence is a difficult time for families. As Mom’s Dementia progressed the day came when it was no longer possible for Dad to take of her. Without a doubt, Carleton Place Terrace was the best fit for my mom and our family. From the moment we walked into the beautiful lobby the warmth, understanding and acceptance shown us by Elizabeth immediately put us at ease. We were given time to share my parents story, observe, ask questions, and was provided with all the information about CP Terrace and all that it offers. Elizabeth understood that it was emotionally difficult for Dad, but her experience, assurances that mom would be well taken care of and her natural warmth helped him through the experience. In Moments mom received loving, professional care by staff trained to work with people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Mom especially enjoyed the social interactions, musical performances, manicures, and country drives. The family was welcomed and encouraged to visit and to participate in all the many activities. Dad visited twice a day and he began to feel part of the CP Terrace community even though he didn’t live there. The following spring Dad we had to move Dad into CP Terrace too. Staff recognized the importance and value of keeping couples together and they enabled us to move Mom in with Dad so they could be together again. Mom continued to receive the same level of quality care that she did in Moments, even ensuring that some of the Staff that she was familiar with continued to provide her personal care. Shortly after moving Mom in with Dad we got a call that there was a space for Mom in a Long-Term Care Facility, we had 24 hours to decide. We just got them back together again, we knew and trusted the staff. The CP Terrace Staff assured us that they had the ability to continue to provide all the care for mom as her Dementia progressed and her mobility issues increased. The decision was simple, we kept Mom and Dad together at CP Terrace. Late in 2019, Dad began to fail. The Staff kept such a close eye on him and contacted me immediately when they had concerns. Covid hit early in the new year and CP Terrace went into lockdown. While it was extremely difficult not to be able to see our parents, especially as Dad continued to fail we understood that the Management at CP Terrace were putting the safety of all the Residents and of the Staff taking care of our loved ones first. We knew our parents were being well cared for and safe and we commend the Staff for their diligence and dedication. During the lockdown, the Staff at CP Terrace became family for the residents when families were unable to visit their loved ones. Dad passed in April 2020 of old age. CP Terrace was still in lockdown, we were unable to be with mom. Staff kept a close eye on Mom and moved her back down to Moments where staff/resident ratios are better. We are so thankful for the dedication, hard work, compassion and loving care that all the Staff at CP Terrace provided for Dad and continue to provide for Mom. I can not say enough about Symphony Senior Living’s Carleton Place Terrace. My parents both transitioned to live there predominantly in winter when their snowbird days in Florida came to an end approximately 8 years ago. Dad passed away soon after and Mom stayed. Everyone from the Executive Staff, various Directors, Nurses, Dining Room Staff, housekeeping, and all manor of helpers are friendly, kind, and helpful. They all take the time to truly get to know the residents and help ensure all possible needs are met. They are open to working with the family to make sure their loved ones are provided the best care. Looking after aging parents can be a daunting time in our lives. This has been exacerbated 10 fold with the pandemic. Thanks to their amazing diligence, there has been not one single case of corona virus in this wonderful place. My heartfelt thanks to all the staff who make this challenging time that much easier and for keeping my mom safe and healthy. ~ Willow Vokey.

Both of my grandmothers have lived here at separate times. The staff are kind and caring, there are lots of activities that the people can go to if they want, including live music every week. My grandma was very social and was hardly ever in her room, she played cards with other people every night. When my grandma passed we were able to keep her here and the staff kept her comfortable. It was a blessing to have her pass away in her home.
