On behalf of the Carleton Place & District Civitan Club, I want to extend a big thank you for corroborating with us in last weekend's (October 25/25) Murder Mystery Lunch. From the time of the idea being born to the last minutes of the production, CP Terrace staff were a delight to work with --- so easy to work, such positive attitudes and wow, everything was set up to perfection for us !! Big kudos to the chefs too --- the luncheon was awesome!!!! Look forward to future fun events with you.

My mother recently was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour at the age of 84. She had been living alone for 10 years and I tried to convince her to accept a retirement home for the last 3 years as I know how social she is and loves to be around people. But she was stubborn. Due to her heath I convinced her to visit Carlton Place Terrace. She accepted a room with them. Unfortunately it was a short stay (about 3 months) and passed away from the cancer. But I can tell you I've never seen her so happy in the last 5 years. The entertainment, socializing, group activities, exercise classes and special outings was a blessing for her. Not to mention the food. I visited her every day and can say with confidence she was extremely well cared for and kept active. Dawn the CEO is wonderful and always available. Too many names to mention but the all the staffing was professional and outstanding. Anthony Fritz

I can't say enough good things about The Carleton Place Terrace. My mom has been living there for over a year, and it has been a most positive experience for our family. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Any concerns we have are addressed and communication is exceptional . . . . Staff are quick to make contact when needed, and our comments are always well received. Mom's needs have changed considerably since she has moved into The Terrace, and the level and type of care she receives has adapted as needed. The homey atmosphere is so welcoming; I am often greeted by the aroma of freshly baked cookies, and the range of activities offer something for everyone.We are very grateful for the knowledge, care and compassion of the staff. A very heartfelt thank you.

The staff do their best to Provide caring and personalized service at The Terrace . We appreciate the kindness and attention Dad has received since moving in earlier this year. Any concerns we have had have been addressed promptly and professionally. Thanks to Dawn and the team for all they do !! My parents have been residents at CP Terrace for over a year now. The transition from living in your own home to assisted living is not an easy one for many. My father in particular was strongly independent and wished to remain in is home until the end. At the Terrace, there is a home like atmosphere, not a cold institutional type feel. The staff at the Terrace are excellent. Having spent a lot of time there I have witnessed many interactions between them and numerous residents not just my folks. They show kindness, patience and respect without being condescending. Several staff members have been there for years and it is evident that they have a heart for this type of challenging but rewarding work. (Sharon, Debra & Mary to name a few) . A special shout out to Marie and Alicia who have gone above & beyond. Residents have access to a local family doctor- Dr. Bastin-Millar. She has been great! Caring, kind and very accessible. Management is quick to respond to any issues and concerns. They work with you on all aspects of your loved one's care plan. Management has been transparent in my dealings with them. From my observations they are very invested and hands on around the retirement home. The CEO is very approachable and she has been a huge positive since arriving in May 2023. The past few years have been challenging for healthcare and especially long term care but I would not hesitate to recommend Carleton Place Terrace to family or friends.

My mother moved into the Terrace recently for what my sisters and I anticipated would be a short term respite stay. However, it unexpectedly turned into a terminal palliative care residency. The staff at the Terrace were able to accommodate her change in situation and medical status very smoothly and made her last days as comfortable as possible. This allowed Mom to pass away with a level of grace and dignity that exceeded our expectations. Everyone showed great caring and compassion towards both Mom and our family. Thanks to Dawn, Amy and the rest of the staff for making this difficult experience easier to handle. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend the Terrace for respite care.

The food there is not fit to eat or give to a dog. The care is not good and some of the staff aren't nice and are very rude to the people living there. I had my mom therefor 6 months and I'm moving her out for the money charged for rent and food is far too much for what they are getting it's not worth the money it's too much and they don't take good care or doing anything with the residents. I would think twice of living here or putting your love one here.

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a particular staff member at Carleton Place Terrace. I am new to working in the building and was absolutely delighted upon meeting Liz. This is a woman who is extremely passionate about her job (which in this day and age, is a rare commodity) and demonstrates her caring and compassionate nature at every turn. I've observed her first hand, while dealing with the seniors as well as their families' and I am completely awe-struck. I inquired to see how long Liz had been working at CPT and was flabbergasted to find out she has been there for 15+ years! To see a person who clearly loves their job, as well as all of the people they work with and interact with after working at the same place for over 15 years is inspiring! I'm hopeful that Liz is recognized for all of her hard work and dedication, as she truly deserves it.

Liz was amazing in getting my parents moved in on very short notice and giving them the accommodations that they required. Dad passed soon after and the staff has been extremely supportive to my mom. There were a few glitches but nothing that was serious. Overall, I think this is a great place and they are still working with my mom to make her time there comfortable.

My mom has been here for a few years now. The staff are all friendly and caring. It hit me hard when I dropped my mom back at the residence after being in the hospital for 2 weeks. Everyone was soooo excited to see her, my mom has been a difficult client at times, so I was surprised at the outpouring of love! I would recommend the Terrace for your loved ones!

Recently have started working with Carleton Place Terrace in January of 2021. Since day one the staff and residents have made me feel at home and felt very welcoming. Our home's dog Angel is always there ready to greet you at the door each day. This instantly will put a smile on my face and many others; upon entering into our beautiful home. Our Care staff is exactly what they are called; Caring. They bring joy and happiness to all our residents. We strive to achieve best possible care and to ensure the residents here know they are home.

My grandmother was at the terrace for a couple of years before having to move into long-term care. It was an excellent experience for her, she was very isolated on her own in her home prior and we were shocked at how social she became, eating her meals with new friends and participating in activities especially arts and crafts.

I love CPT... both it's community members and the awesome staff. My husband and I have owned and operated a Life Transitions Services company since 2008 and have been blessed with endless opportunities to transition new community members into their next life chapter at CPT and truly feel they have chosen a wonderful place to move into when doing so. We've worked in 54 communities over 13years and can honestly say this is one of our top 4 and I assure you their are several residents we would never go back to. The staff at CPT are warm, welcoming, fun loving and authentic. We take pleasure in watching them engage and connect with their community members, clearly enjoying what they do and the folks they work with and for. Seeing the same staff faces for years is always a good sign. We love to see the energy and smiles from the community members as they engage in activities planned. The on-line videos speaks to the effort and fun that goes into each activity. The management team has been amazing to us, trusting in us and treating our company like part of their own team. As a result we've built amazing relationships with the staff and many community members over the years. Their approach to navigating the present COVID life chapter has our full support and respect. They've done an amazing job managing something that is so much bigger then us all... so to speak and we trust in that. Although we recognize that you simply cannot and will not please everyone. This is a community that can easily be called home. Thanks to Jeff, Liz, James, Tracy, Mary, Carla, Rose and ALL the CPT staff for allowing us to be part of the CPT 'Framily'.

My parents recently moved into the Terrace and were welcomed from day one with open arms. They have been treated with respect and dignity and seem to be very attentive. They have a lovely suite with ample room to move around with walkers. There are enough social activities to get them out of their room during this lock down times and keep them engaged. The protocols for visitors with the pandemic are stricter than some other residences it seems, but it's keeping them all safe so I appreciate the extra effort the staff are putting in. All in all a positive experience so far.

My mother has been living at the Carleton Place Terrace for a few months now. It was a hard decision, but it was made so much easier by the kind and caring staff. They have been so helpful with the whole process, and have made things so easy and seamless. I know that my Mom is safe and is being so well-cared for. She raves about the food and she loves all of the opportunities to listen to music. She enjoys her daily walks in the courtyard and speaks often of Angel, the resident pup! Her room is lovely and she is very comfortable there.
