I've become very familiar with The Richmond Retirement Residence over the past 18 months that my Mother has lived there. The level of care varies with the level needed by the resident. Independent living is the goal but assistance is offered on many levels. The employees from the food servers to the room cleaners and office staff are all friendly and attentive to needs. The quality of food and selections are top notch. The rooms vary in size but are complete, clean and bright. My only negative is the availability of parking although most times there is a spot to park. Socialization is important to the residence and they offer various programs and outings that keep residents involved.

My name is Larry & my sister is finishing a 2 week Respite Care stay at the Richmond Retirement Residence. All staff have been very helpful & willing to do whatever it takes to make her stay fun, secure & filled with the services she requires. We have recommend to family that she stay there at the end of the Respite stay and that it becomes her new home! Thank you Richmond people!!

My sister who suffers from dementia has been a resident of the Richmond in Belleville for the past 2 years. The care and understanding the workers and management show is amazing. My sister always tells me how clean it is , how good the meals are and how lucky she is that we chose the Richmond. It’s very hard to make the decision for a loved one such as this but the Richmond makes you feel you have made the right decision.

We moved our Mother here in June. I find the staff here very friendly. The residence itself is clean, tidy and well kept. They have been very supportive during the transititon. I have seen the food and she quite likes all the dinners, the other residents and is very content which gives us peace of mind. Its wonderful.

I've been to a few retirement homes in Belleville and the Richmond retirement home is one of the best. Friendly staff and lots of activities for the residents. The rooms are cleaned properly compared to other retirement homes I've seen and if any repairs need to be addressed it is done quickly. I would highly recommend The Richmond Retirement Residence if your looking for a place to call home.

My father has been here a little over a year, and I truly believe choosing to move into a retirement residence was the best decision he has made, choosing the Richmond as his home I believe was the reason for this. The family like environment between not only the residents , but the staff also is amazing. You can honestly see that they all truly care about each others well being. One big family. With every family there are black sheep lol, however a black sheep should not be a health care worker I do wish one of the health care staff could smile a little more, and lead by example, it goes along way. Showing a little more compassion rather than visibly showing frustration when called upon by residents. Not just once, on many occasions I have witnessed this These are peoples fathers, mothers, grandmas, grandpas, I’m sure all of them if given a choice would rather be home with their real family. They didn’t choose to be ill, or choose to require assistance. However, it would be like a server at McDonalds getting mad when a customer ordered a burger. Different profession maybe? If we had a do over we would choose the Richmond again, don’t get me wrong. Just wanted to share! Your only as strong as your weakest link

I went to visit some friends at Richmond retirement residence home.I was so pleased to see how beautiful and warm welcoming I felt when I went to a visit. They have done such an amazing job and the dining room is beautiful. they have another room off the dining area. residents can sit and enjoy one another's company and get their drinks from the machines. Great jo, staff, for all the terrific jobs you do each day. The residents are so lucky to live in a beautiful home.

The Richmond is a retirement residence that truly cares. Staff are always friendly and treat everyone in their senior community with respect and compassion - making it obvious they love what they do. The food is delicious and the menu items are made by the chef's onsite - giving the meals that homestyle quality with the finesse of going out to a nice restaurant. There is always plenty of fun activities and entertainment. The Richmond really is retirement living at its finest!

My daughter moved to the Richmond Retirement home in November of 2014 after being involved in a motor vehicle accident where she obtained a traumatic brain injury. The Richmond Retirement home was made aware of the requirements and all her physical needs. Despite this; the home failed to meet those needs and she was evicted from the home in 2020 after she went missing from the home and police found her. There was a failure by the home to check on my daughter when she did not come down for meals which resulted in my daughter who suffers from a traumatic brain injury going missing from the home in Feb of 2020. On return to the home, staff would lock us into the room, tape the door shut, and open the door constantly despite we were made to stay with our daughter as the home refused to take any responsibility for her after she went missing from the home. We were told that the only way she could return to the home is if one of us stayed with her. On one occasion, my daughter's call bell - a button used to signal the nurses when a resident is in distress was not working next to her bed in 2021. At the time my daughter was having a severe seizure. I used the call button several times and when no staff came, I was forced to call 911 myself. I attempted to call the home from my phone and the nurse on duty answered the phone and hung up on me. On more than several occasions, medication errors were made from 2014-2021. On several occasions, nurses would not witness her taking her medication despite the home new that my daughter had a history of mental illness and suicide attempts. I eventually took over administrating the medication to my daughter.

My team at Seniors Relocation Services moved a lady into Richmond Retirement Residence. They said it was a place they'd be comfortable leaving their own family. The staff were friendly and warm.

This home is great if you don’t have issues that require extra care, which we were paying extra for. My mom had a stench of urine in her room and the staff and Manager didn’t address it when I continually brought it to their attention. The manager said to me you know that the girls that are working her have been here for a long time and they’ve lost their sense of smell. I kid you not. Otherwise if you don’t have extra needs, it’s pretty nice.
