My mother moved into Carrington Place in November 2023 and she couldn't be happier. It feels so homey and nice - not at all like an institution. The best thing about Carrington Place is the staff. They are so caring and have gone the extra mile to ensure my mom is comfortable and happy. Everytime I go to visit her I know she is in the right place!

We toured around and looked at other places but as soon as we walked into Carrington Place I knew it was the right place for my mom. It is cute, homey and kept impeccably clean. It feels as if I'm at a cozy hotel nestled into a hill. My mom's apartment is as cute as a button and meets all of her needs. The best thing about Carrington Place is definitely the staff. Every single time I go in they greet me with a smile. They call me if they have any concerns about my mom and they genuinely look out for her. I would highly recommend someone living here that needs the assistance and extra care.

I have worked maintenance here for over 5 years and this place feels like home, not only is the staff wonderful but the residents make me feel like family. Can't say enough about the care, and the food is fabulous. I even moved my Mom in 3 years ago and I no longer worry about her. Best place to retire into.

We moved our cousin in to Carrington Place for respite care and were so impressed by their kindness and the professionalism of the staff. Our cousin stayed. She loves the homey atmosphere, the activities, services on site, and especially the food! We are relieved she is being cared for and the she is safe. Well done.

We moved mom into Carrington in 2021, in the midst of Covid and some bumpy times but the staff were welcoming, warm, accommodating and truly wonderful. To this day I am so grateful to Carrington staff and the peace of mind having mom there brings us.

My mother has been part of the Carrington family since September 2023. I toured many retirement homes before deciding on Carrington. It felt like home as soon as I walked in the door. It is wonderful here. They care about my mom. I have never seen her so happy. She enjoys the activities and even has tried some new ones. Lots of laughter. Top marks for cleanliness and meals. Physical, social and brain activities are always offered. I know my mom is safe and well cared for. Her needs are always met. I want to move here when it's my turn. It feels like a community.

My mom has resided here since 2022. The staff are absolutely wonderful and kind. The building is clean and welcoming. The programs are engaging. Any concerns have been addressed immediately. My mom feels safe here and well taken care of. I am able to leave her knowing she is in the best care. Thank you to the staff for their ongoing support, it's so greatly appreciated!

Our 93 year old mother moved in to Carrington Place in the summer of last year (2023). At at time that can be very stressful for both the elderly parent and the family, the staff at Carrington took the stress out of this transition. Communication was excellent. Responses to our questions were quick and informative allowing us to make the best decisions with and for our elderly mom. The environment is consistently uplifting, helpful and kind. There is so much to do and our mom takes part in several activities. The building is beautiful, bright and clean. While our mom lives fairly independently, she recently required a little more care and attention due to a slight health setback. The nursing staff were quick to shift their approach to the care they offered her. They are beyond efficient. Without exception they keep us well informed of any changes and answer our queries with patience and efficiency. They are consistently kind and compassionate to us and our mom. The PSWs are wonderful. The housekeeping and kitchen staff are consistently great. Paula (Community Relations) deserves a special mention given both she and Janice (receptionist) have fielded a number of calls and emails over the last many months. In short, the care at Carrington is high quality and reliable. The peace of mind this kind of care provides to all of us in invaluable.

My mom has lived at Carrington Place for 1.5 years now. I cannot say enough good things about the people who work there. They are kind, compassionate, respectful and beyond helpful; because it is a smaller residence, the staff know all the residents by name and also the names of family who visit. I always get a verbal update from someone on how my mom is doing, it truly feels homey. The rooms are comfortable and kept extremely clean, my mom and I are both very happy with our choice of residence for her.

STAFFING The Residence is very well staffed, well trained and they make it a point to get to know each resident by name and their specific requirements. Many part and full time employees, as well as key management individuals, exceed expectations on a regular basis which does not go unnoticed and is most appreciated by residents. This is a critical success issue for retirement living and Carrington Place exceeds all expectations - RATING - 5 star ROOMS Various size living quarters are relatively spacious and airy. Trash is picked up daily. Each room is equipped with multiple emergency cords placed at critical locations and all rooms, including the lower level, have a pleasant view. - RATING - 4 star MEALS Three well balanced meals provided daily; most of which is prepared on the premises. There are healthy snacks available, often around the clock depending upon demand, for those who might wish a cup of tea and a muffin for example. Generally, an oversupply of mealtime desserts are also made available along with a large variety of beverages, both hot and cold - there's no reason for anyone to go hungry or thirsty. - RATING - 5 star LAUNDRY A large laundry room is provided and is accessible during regular hours, otherwise by request. The option is available to acquire in-house service. - RATING - 5 star EXERCISE AND RECREATION Overseen by an entertainment director, there are a number of programs available each day and some evenings to meet the needs of all. Availability of qualified instructors is the only restriction to full spectrum needs-based programs year round - RATING - 4 star INFRASTRUCTURE Building is over 22 years old and is well maintained. Leaking pipes are in keeping with the age of the building and are addressed and remediated in a timely fashion. Adequate pest control is evident on all floors. The interior public areas are exceptionally clean and hygienic. Living quarters are individually temperature controlled. The ice storm of December 22, 2013 found the residence without power. Lacking a backup generator necessitated the relocation of residents and it's my understanding the acquisition of a backup generator is being reviewed. - RATING - 3 star SUMMARY No retirement residence is perfect but it would be difficult to find a better run facility at any price in Ontario. There are many other issues I perhaps should have addressed but my intent is to offer a first hand impression of the facilities so my views will, by necessity, be bias. DISCLAIMER All comments are accurate and truthful to the best of my knowledge. Should there be any misstatements, I can only apologize and are completely unintentional.
