June 2026
Friendliest place I have ever experienced. The staff go out of their way to greet me and take care of any of my needs. The rooms are private, large and kept extremely clean. I have been here over 10 months and based on my medical prognosis; I will be here for some time. Other than my movement limitations, I have no complaints. The rehab center has cutting edge equipment which was instrumental in the improvement of all of the injuries necessitating my stay at Chesterwood. I look forward to my continued stay at Chesterwood.

Therapist were amazing and yes if I didn't get him dressed they did. Not nurse or aids. We would not have survived without our therapist for sure. We had an aid called Q was amazing but had hardly any help. Never hardly ever seen a nurse. They would come in on their phones etc. I for get the nurse we had our last day but she was very good with our family member , took her time and spoke to him. I hate I don't have her name. This place needs to hire more people and quit padding their pockets.

I have good help from good people. I have made good friends and like living here.

I cannot say enough good things about Chesterwood Retirement Community. They offer a wide range of services, and the food at Jimmy's is so good, as it is made to order each time.
March 2025
Chesterwood Continuing Care Retirement Community (separate from the Advanced Therapy Center) is a wonderful place to send your loved ones. The staff all around is super helpful and friendly and the place really is such a fun and welcoming environment for everyone young and old. They try to be accommodating and put the residents first, which is hard to find these days. The therapy team is also excellent! Would recommend!

Chesterwood is a beautiful facility that provides excellent care!
May 2024
Long term care is a tough business but at Chesterwood village my mom is known, loved and cared for by all the staff!
May 2024
Chesterwood Village is one of only a handful of Skilled Nursing / Rehabilitation facilities I would trust to care for my Mom. It is modern, clean, and well-kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only constructive feedback is to improve the quality of food and for the kitchen to follow dietary restrictions/modifications as listed.
March 2024
I appreciate all the wonderful care given to my father while at Darby Place. It is a beautiful facility. A special thanks to Riley in activities who significantly improved his quality of life in his last several months. The full time nursing and STNA staff were very attentive and easy to work with. I would like to thank Ozzie, Cathy, Lisa, and Kim from the nursing staff. I would also like to thank Sandy, Ira, and Betty from STNA too.

Great community, with great people! They do an excellent job providing care to the residents and families they serve.

We had a positive experience while my mother was in Rehabilitation at Chesterwood (October, 2022). Everyone was solicitous, answered our questions. My mother was always clean and dressed each day. The personnel in Occupational and Physical Therapy were accommodating. The Social Work manager also answered questions and helped us understand the next steps after Mom's release. As my mother's health has deteriorated over the last year, we are considering the Memory Care Unit at Chesterwood.

It’s just ok. I think staff nice! However they are short staffed.
November 2023
Clean Nursing facility. Friendly staff
September 2023
Most of the staff does their job very well! A Cna/nurse/helper name Patricia does not! Either is judgemental or don’t care. Something needs to be done about her attitude and work ethic. Even found out a couple other employees have complained about her and spoke of her needing to be written up/ reprimanded or let go. I will try to update in future of some instances that she has not performed her job duties or description. One is her lying about situations. Want to make sure I have correct info before I go into more details. Beware of this employee!

5/14/22...We stopped by this afternoon to visit a family member who is here for therapy. She seems to be happy with the care she is receiving. The facility is beautiful too. We only interacted with a few of the employees. All of them but 1 was amazing. We genuinely appreciate the professional & kind staff! ™ Now, Ms. Elizabeth Rapp, is another story. She could definitely improve on the way she interacts with certain people. When we came in, she was snarky, huffing & puffing about doing her job. When we were getting ready to leave, my fiance stopped by the desk to give her some important paperwork to copy & add to our relative's chart/file. There was a woman at the desk in front of us who was treated with the utmost respect & kindness. Once it was my fiance's turn to talk to Ms. Rapp, out came her fangs again. When she got back to the desk, she was complaining about the copier not working & how she tried it a few times & it got stuck. My fiance confirmed with her that she wasn't able to copy it. He said he'd copy it elsewhere & bring a copy on his next visit. For the most part, I'm all for "killing 'em with kindness", but Ms. Rapp even makes that difficult. If she doesn't care for diversity, she should consider another job where she doesn't have to interact with the public. I'll be calling on Monday & discussing our entire experience with a supervisor. My fiance also mentioned that the staff he interacted with yesterday (including the front desk staff) were professional & friendly.

Following double bypass I transitioned to Chesterwood Rehabilitation. This was a wonderful experience that got me back on my feet with convidence. If I could have I would have preferred to stay longer. thank you to the staff for your patience.
May 2021
My wife was admitted to Chesterwood recovering from a hemmoraghic stroke. The staff has made us feel like family. The care and concern they have shown goes above and beyond what I would have expected from a rehab facility. I would definitely recommend them to anyone seeking rehabilitation services. I have to update my thoughts about Chestwoods advanced therapy center. The nursing staff doesn't follow requests from the therapy department. Numerous times therapy has had to get my wife up, dressed and out of bed. This took the entire time of 45 minutes allotted to provide therapy for her to recover from a hemmoraghic stroke. She also received more therapy time per day from TriHealth on Dana. Instead of progressing to the point of being able to come home, she has declined in her ability to function. I have had her transferred to Encompass at Drake who have guaranteed me that they will be able to turn her around and have her back to and beyond the ability level she was at TriHealth.
May 2021
Chesterwood was very highly recommended by a lot of people that I know in the healthcare world and I was highly dissatisfied/disappointed with the nursing department. The therapy department was great and would have been a lot better if nursing worked with them and followed through with their requests.

My grandma lives at Chesterwood Village and I couldn't be happier with the experience we have had. Although it has been a very hard year with covid, the staff has really come through and taken fantastic care of the residents. My grandma is always well taken care of, says that she enjoys her meals and looks great when she leaves the beauty salon! Overall very positive experience.

In December 2019, a close relative of mine had a stroke and we were fortunate enough to have Chesterwood Village accept her into their facility in January after her hospital stay. I cannot say enough good things about the facility, the care team of nurses and aides, the therapy team, the receptionist and the activities team, and everyone behind the scenes that have helped in one way or another to care for the needs of my relative. Every call I’ve made, every email I’ve sent has been accepted and responded to with respect and response to the best of their ability. When the pandemic hit and all of the news reports were reporting on how the virus is hitting nursing homes and long term care facilities, I was beyond nervous. From the beginning and to this day, Chesterwood Village has gone above and beyond to protect their residents. And when my relative had a fever, they quickly responded and moved her to a quarantine wing, took a COVID test and had chest xrays taken immediately. As it turned out she had pneumonia and went to the hospital but was back at the facility in 3 days. Had the staff not reacted so quickly to care for her, her pneumonia could have been much worse. Today she remains a resident recovering from her stroke, receiving incredible therapy and care. On day one when she moved in, her right side was completely paralyzed with the only movement being her right thumb. Today she is toileting on her own from her wheelchair and can walk with a walker with some assistance. I am forever grateful to EVERYONE at Chesterwood Village for their dedication to keeping their residents and staff safe and for all they have done and continue to do to care for my relative.

I'm extremely grateful for all the staff that's been working with my mother. She was at Chesterwood for rehab an had excellent care. She has said that she will be back if she needs anymore rehab in the future. Thanks to everyone at Chesterwood Village!! ‘‘

My mom has lived at Chesterwood Village for six years. She loves living there because the staff and other folks that live there are all her friends. It is a wonderful caring community. She feels safe, happy and taken care of at Chesterwood Village.
February 2020
Chesterwood was a great place for my grandparents to call home for almost 20 years. Finding a place where my grandparents could age in place was very important to them. They took full advantage of all of the amaneties offered, and loved watching all of the new facilities open from the ground up. From living in the independent living cottages to being able to stay in the rehab facilities when sick or injured, Chesterwood had everything they needed. If you are looking for a place for you, your parents, or your grandparents... Chesterwood will help you find great placement!
December 2019
The facility is welcoming and a pleasant place to be. The staff are caring and generally concerned for the well being of their patients, but one staff member told me that he works 70-hour weeks. I have to question whether he's able to give quality care to his patients if he's working that many hours. The food service. however, is abominable and terrible. I would give it 0 stars if I could. The food is served in limited quantities in the dining room. Arrive 15 minutes after starting time, and there are very slim pickings. No salads. No hot choices. What is served is not well seasoned, not at proper temperature and not appetizing. The in-room food service is even worse. The food sits on cold plates on unheated carts and is served when someone gets around to it. For what it costs to reside in this facility, the food should be both nutritious and well presented and a highlight to one's day. That's not the case here -- at all. After all, eating should be a joy and one of the things that residents should be able to look forward to. I am not expecting a five-star restaurant quality meal (although for what we pay to be here it ought to be), but even fast food, school cafeteria, or even military MRE rations are better and tastier than what's served here. You really need to take a very close look at your food service offerings -- either scrap it and start over, outsource it, or have it catered by a competent outside contractor.
November 2019
So lucky to have ended up in the brand new Advanced Therapy center at Chesterwood Village in West Chester Ohio, after breaking my right femur & right wrist. It had only been open a couple of months and was still working out a few of the details. But my stay was pretty spot on! My room was spacious & bright. The nurses and STNAs (aids) were well trained & attentive. The food was surprisingly good!! And of course the in house therapy center was great!! Thanks Chesterwood for a wonderful experience at a very trying time.

I Iive in the cottages and have loved it from the start. My husband and I are always busy with one of the many activities available to us. We are a family here at Chesterwood!! The picture is of one of our Thursday night dinners at the club house, when we all enjoyed some fun with each other. The closeness and warmth added to the activities; the theater and popcorn and outside entertainment, all at our finger tips makes Chesterwood the place to live. Come visit us, stop by and say "hello".

March 2019
The care has really gone down with many new staff. The food served is cold and not cooked half the time or just not edible. It is also served an hour or more late and my father is a diabetic receiving insulin. It used to be good, not sure what happened. Also, if you call the facility you rarely get through to anyone. Would be happy to share my experience with the owner but I work during the day and can't get through to anyone on the phone. Several residents are saying they have filed complaints from what I'm told.
October 2018
Beautiful new facility, great people.
August 2018
When my sister and I toured the facility before her hip replacement surgery we were very impressed. However, now that she is a patient we are not so thrilled. She was transported into her room on Thursday evening. They brought her a meal promptly which was great. Then we sat and sat and sat waiting to hear from someone, anyone. Only after I tracked down a nurse did we get info on how to adjust the bed, use the call button and get the air conditioning going. Because we sat for so long after the ambulance attendants put into her room, she needed to lay down. There was no help to be found. She was so uncomfortable and in pain by the time someone did come around to help her she was in tears. Perhaps the fact that it was close to the weekend had something to do with it , I am not sure. Also, now that she has been settled in for a couple of nights it has not gotten a lot better. Loud voices in the hall the first night and last night staff was using the empty half of the semi private room as their lounge. Therapy has been practically non existent so far. We are hoping for improvement come Monday but I won't hold my breath. And I certainly at this point won't suggest anyone use this facility. After posting this review, we received a visit from those in charge. Apologizing and promises to do better. Nothing improved, in fact it seemed to my sister that it got worse as if she were being punished for the complaint.

I spent some time volunteering here around Christmas and I must say, everything is very nice and inviting. They have their own church, post office, movie theatre, resteraunt, and much more. Not to mention the staff was extremely friendly and caring!
August 2017
My husband has been there in rehab for over 2 weeks now and I visit him several hours every day. If certain things could be improved (food served cold most of the times, noisy corridor -it seems to me, there are a lot of professional visitors and practical seminars going on-), I am happy to have chosen this facility for my husband. The place is clean and attractive. All personal, from house keeping/laundry person/social workers/admission/therapy team and purely medical are extremely devoted and reliable for which I am grateful. Regular attached/visiting Dr is also very good. I would like to give personal thanks to Aid Tray for her great job and patience and most especially to Nurse Stephany for her constant work, professionalism and ears to my concerns.
