Charter is a beautiful facility with new management that really takes pride in their work. My Dad always had a smile while he was there and treated with love and kindness.

The facilities are, indeed, very nice. It is obvious that significant time and care were put into designing and thinking about the physical plant. I was disappointed to find out that they have not done the same with their considerations of anti-psychotic medications for treating elderly men with dementia (who are over-prescribed anti-psychotics even more than elderly women), the only suggestion that they offered me. This NYTimes article from 2008 [link removed] and SO MANY OTHERS are and should be common knowledge for all in 2021. I am disappointed that this facility has not advanced their thinking in this regard or given even a minimal commitment to inclusive excellence either.

They care for my mother very well in their memory unit, and did well my father in a difficult situation. Their communication is good.

My dad was at Charter Memory Care for over a year and was one of the first residents. The staff were very kind and compassionate towards my dad. There were activities going on every day that he enjoyed participating in as shown in the photos on their website. My dad (and even family) made friends with the other residents and their families that visited. I feel like we became a family of Charter. In my dads final days the nursing staff and caregivers gave him great care and made him comfortable. The management team also kept us informed of my dads health as he was entering the last stages of Alzheimers. You could tell the staff really cared as they too had to say good bye to Big Guy as some of them called him. We will miss my dad a great deal, visiting him and seeing our Charter family! Thanks for all your care!

Elderly people need a voice and advocate when living in these types of facilities.My father was also a patient at Charter and I was his voice and advocate. I was there on a weekly and sometimes daily bases to be assured his needs were being met. Any concerns I had were always addressed and dealt with in a positive manner.
