The activities director Samantha is creative, caring and energetic with a sunny disposition. Resident focused and dementia certified, she gives each person the reality of living happily in their home, with social interaction and a personal touch. She discovers the individuals interests, resulting in healthier, active and more enriched lives. The communities clean and friendly.

The Avalon is a beautiful place for senior living. They offer multiple activities daily from crafts, games, songs, and chair volleyball, a favorite resident favorite! They have OSU tailgates and often include neighboring HS students for activities. There are outings to restaurants, local parks, SourcePoint, scenic drives, and more. The staff is amazing, friendly, professional, and so caring. The residents are nice and family to each other. The facility is gorgeous inside with a dining room on each floor, lots of sitting rooms, a theater room, craft room, little store, a barber shop, and more. They have a beautiful courtyard. Our family highly recommends checking it out for your loved one!

They need improve because they want husband and wife together during meeting. My mom is at the rehabilitation hospital and my dad is home. I'm interested that they move into that place soon as possible. I have a job at OSU. I'm not retired yet. My dad - needs someone watch him. I can't go anywhere if my mom is at rehabilitation. My brother lives in out of state. He does visit here. I hope it helps you understanding. Thanks.

Four years ago, my dear wife was diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer's. I managed to take care of her for some time but it got to the point where I could no longer provide the care she needed. I visited many facilities before choosing The Avalon of Lewis Center which was then called First & Main. I found likes and dislikes with all of them but was so impressed with the key management and staff at this facility. I was given a nice tour and never once felt pressured to make a decision. In fact I made non-announced visits at various hours of the day to make sure I wasn't missing something. I watch this building being constructed and the framing is steel rather than wooden 2x4s like most which to me is a big plus regarding safety. When inside I got the feeling I was in a nice hotel lobby rather than an assisted living facility. I chose this facility over others and my wife has been there almost 2 1/2 years. I visit her almost every day at various hours sometimes late at night so I see how she and others are treated. Only once have I seen a problem when an aid was verbally abusing a resident, which I promptly reported and the issue was properly address and this is good because I have zero tolerance for any disrespect. I feel comfortable knowing my wife is being treated with respect and dignity here at the Avalon of Lewis Center. If you were looking for in assisted-living or memory care facility for your love one I would definitely recommend visiting this community.

It's been almost a year since my Mom passed away, and I should have written this review a long time ago, but better late than never, and definitely deserved. I can't even put into words how much I want to thank Christian, Courtney, Marybeth, Craig, the nurses and caregivers, and the entire staff at First and Main/The Avalon of Lewis Center. Even though we weren't there too long, they were incredibly helpful, kind, compassionate and always looking out for my Mom and our family. They treated my Mom and our family so well throughout the entire process from when we were looking at different facilities, to move in, to while she was living there, and during her final days. Our situation was very unique and difficult, and they even gave us suggestions on some outside of the box ideas to help that were definitely not a part of their responsibilities there. This is one of the worst times in my life but was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a company and wanted to make sure to write something just saying thank you.

My mom has been in memory care for 2 years and cannot say enough on how well she has been treated. The caregivers seem to really care and take good care of the residents. Christian, Craig, Zach and Courtney have always answered my questions and return phone calls promptly. I tell everyone what a great facility it is.

Thanks to the staff at Avalon for taking good care of my mother. I appreciate the staff's efforts to cover for each other to make sure her and the other residents needs are met. I've also noticed an improvement in the meal service and social aspects since Avalon/Grace took over. Keep up the good work!

To be honest I wanted to give First & Main a few months before I gave a formal review to give us time to have the newness go away. But I have to say that they are incredible. We relocated my grandmother to First and Main of Lewis Center from a facility in Troy Ohio to be closer to us. From the first phone call till now I have been incredibly impressed with everyone. They really do care about their residents and their families and have numerous times gone out of there way to help my grandmother and or our family with her needs. If we are unable to do something, they jump on it so quickly. My grandmother also has dementia and we have seen a significant improvement with her overall attitude and willingness to get up each day improve drastically in just 30 days. I doubt my opinion will change anytime, and I would highly suggest this to anyone who is looking for the first time and or looking for an improvement for a loved one. They are great! Thank you so much First & Main of Lewis Center.

I cant tell you how amazing this place is. My mother only got to live there a little over a week before ALS took her life and we had Hospice help so First and Main allowed a woman to finish her life closer to her family and in a place of the highest quality. With Hospice and First and Mains staff working together they maid a terrible final week of life....a little easier to bare. They provided food for my family and although my mom didnt want any puppy therapy their two toy therapy dogs that look like puppies yet are the most well behaved animals I have seen. they brought a smile to my mothers face and provided one last amazing memory with her and her grandsons. Thank you to the staff, from administration, to the nurses and aids. You all were wonderful.

I work close and have watched this place go up. I stopped in the other day on my lunch just to take a look around and appease my curiosity. Joel was the first person I came in contact with. He showed me around the building and with every step you could tell how proud he is to be apart of a place like this. He offered me to stay for lunch. I was hesitant at first, we all have heard of the food that can be served at places like this. He sat and ate with me and had a conversation like we have known each other for years. HOLY COW WAS THE FOOD AMZING. I know as soon as my folks get to the point where the need a place like this I will be running strait through these doors asking Where do I sign?!!!

Absolutely beautiful assisted living facility designed and owned by an Architect. This place is amazing, the memory unit is special designed so the person does feel like theyre in a normal lockdown unit! Private Pay, doesnt accept insurance.
