Recent visit with residents for Halloween party. Facility appeared clean and well maintained
March 2022
My mom has been at Haven 4 years and it's fine as far as assisted living goes. They do more or less what should be done but nothing above or beyond. They are short staffed and I don't really think they have conversations with her or help her with anything outside the scope of the basics. She has asked for someone to walked the hallway with her (which would take maybe 10 minutes) but I don't think anyone has. The apartments are a nice size but super dated and the carpet (at least my moms apartment) is pretty gross. We've asked about replacement but haven't seen that happen. They have come in to clean it but at this point it helps only minimally. Average rating here. Pictures were taken 7/9/22.

My sister has been at Haven (formerly Bloom) for around 3 years. She's doing ok. They are short-staffed, unfortunately, so some things are put off, like having someone walk with her up and down the hall So she gets stronger as she spends most of her time in a wheelchair. One thing I think they can and should tend to is keep the place clean (particularly the lobby). It's obviously a high traffic area. The floors there are filthy. All that dirt gets tracked into the residents' apartments, which they don't need. It also makes a terrible first impression for visitors. How can management let this go? If management reads these comments, at least wash the lobby floors (as well as those in the elevators).

Kind, caring and attentive staff. The apartments are large. Communication with families during the covid pandemic has been constant and residents have been kept safe and happy.

I would highly recommend Bloom at Lakewood! Even though my mom was placed during Covid, and we couldnt go inside to see where shed be staying, I know she loved being there! She was so happy there!Katelyn B was just amazing! She made sure I got pics, videos and FaceTime with my mom. Mom had dementia so she couldnt use a phone so this was all very much appreciated. Unfortunately her doctor thought she needed a more secure facility...I wish I could have kept her there.Mom passed in December, but I know she truly thought of Bloom as her home...Thanks to all the wonderful staff!
July 2020
My dad came to Bloom via a nursing home (where he was in hospice for a while) and had very slowly improved to the point he no longer needed such intense medical Care . They did not help make his release easy... And wanted to keep him there longer. He interviewed at several places and was turned down. Blooms tiered program helped him get accepted, and over a series of months require less and less care. The people and Bloom helped him so much. He became more and more independent was able to walk and interact on his own. In less than six months he was able to go home once again. Yes, it was his attitude, but his attitude would not have remained positive if it hadnt been for the help support that he received from everybody from Nick, in maintenance to Kaitlyn who coordinated so many things including communication. They also kept it him and all the residence safe during the covid-19outbreak. Then when it came time to move, everything went so smoothly. They really help you make the best of what youve got.

The Bloom at Lakewood is the perfect place for my Mom. She has a wonderful apartment with her own furniture, excellent care and attention. She is able to go to the grocery store and medical appointments on their bus. She receives all meals in the beautiful dining area and has made friends at the young age of 93. The Bloom is affordable with great amenities.
December 2018
My 90 year old mother is a fairly new tenant of Bloom at Lakewood. Prior to choosing Bloom we visited 5 different facilities in the West Cleveland area. After we finished these visits there was no question that we wanted my mother to be placed in Bloom. After 3 months we feel good that we made the right decision in selecting Bloom. The staff at Bloom from the aides, nurses and administration have demonstrated the kind of care and compassion that we were seeking for my mother. In addition their care and kindness have been extremely helpful in allowing my mother to transition to her new surroundings. This is a big adjustment to make for any senior and the staff at Bloom could not have been more helpful in this difficult process.

Although a bit more expensive than my Mom's previous residence, Bloom provides good value for the price with good, spacious floor plans, very friendly and well trained staff, and a nice schedule of activities and outings. Also, thanks to "A Place for Mom" for getting us together.
