Both of my grandparents have been at Doverwood multiple times over the years . We got off to a rough start, my mamaw fell and broke her ankle , threw a pulmonary embolism and got very sick , BUT with all of that being said , there were staff members that treated my mamaw amazing No place is perfect , and I do believe that higher management could improve , but Dawn was a blessing ! She checked in every single day to make sure everything was going smoothly , or what could be improved. There were aides and nurses that I will never forget that treated my mamaw just like she was one of their loved ones and there were some that could have some serious need of improvement. Overall my mamaw was happy there for her extended stay with therapy . The facility is pretty and usually pretty clean . Just like any facility , there’s always room for improvement, but overall they tried to do right . If you’re looking for a rehab facility I would recommend this facility , but also recommend advocating for your loved one no matter where they go !

Overall I had a pleasant stay at Doverwood. I was in for a good while as I was unable to walk at all from surgery on my foot from a not at fault car accident. It was very intensive surgery with major damage done to the bone that holds everything together in the foot and repairing & repositioning all my tendons and ligaments. It caused permanent damage that will change my mobility from then on. I stayed at Doverwood after my second operation. It is a beautiful building and even a movie theatre inside. The staff there from physicsl therapists, housekeeping, laundry service, kitchen workers, activities, aids, nurses & office staff and maintenance people were phenomenal and very attentive to my needs. They were hard working and I couldn't have made it through my stay if they hadn't been. They made a time of difficulty in my life more bearable. I had a lot of fantastic physical therapists, nurses and aids. I would recommend Doverwood to anybody who needs to be in a nursing home for therapy.

Just spent the weekend in and out of Doverwood visiting a family member. The facility is beautiful and smelled great every time we visited. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant, especially Tanisha. She spent extra time running after an alternate meal when the delivered meal didn't appeal to our family member. She even helped us convince our family member to eat, explaining how it will effect her strength and healing if she doesn't eat. Excellent customer service!

Physical therapy staff on a scale of 1-10 is a 20!! Very empathetic and understanding therapists. The nurses are very good, as are the aids. However, the timing on the medications could be better. Otherwise, out of a 10, I give them 9.9.

The Christmas decorations are amazing. All of the units are decked out for the holidays. It is fun bringing the whole family out to visit grandma!! All of the staff from therapy, housekeeping, nursing, & the kitchen have been a blessing to my family.

Social worker never calls you back. They don't notify family about what's going on with family member. Nurses don't answer calls either.

My mom was at Doverwood for a few weeks before moving to assisted living. Angela, who is a physical therapist at Doverwood is amazing. I felt like she truly looked out for my mom, and even made sure to introduce her to another patient from the same assisted living facility so my mom would have a familiar face shen she got there. Angela, if you see this, I am truly grateful for you!

I have spent many hours in the Rehab 1 & 2, and longterm care units. The staff is always friendly and responsive. They go out of their way to support others and create a positive environment for both the patients and those visiting. It’s clear that they care about the residents and work well together as a team. I’ve always had great experiences here and truly appreciate their professionalism and warmth.

The housekeepers are so welcoming and nice and all I see them doing is working so so hard keeping the front so clean, keeping the bathrooms so clean, the residences rooms at ALLL CLEANNNN!!! The whole place is CLEANNN and BEAUTIFUL!!!! The laundry person was also so very nice and helped me find where I was going cause I didn’t know, she also is a hard worker everytime I come in to see my family member she’s always out in the floor with her cart stocking ALLL of the closets making sure they ALLL get filled and stocked making sure they have all that they need to take care of business! I don’t care what anyone has to say the housekeepers and the same laundry lady in the mornings that I come see my family member they are always working so hard and I needed to make sure they get a good complement for the hard work I ALWAYS see them doing.

My great aunt went to Doverwood Skilled Care in Hamilton for rehab after her hip replacement and the experience could not have been better. The facility was always clean and welcoming and the nursing staff were some of the most attentive and compassionate people I have ever met. They made her feel comfortable and cared for and really treated her like family. The therapists were great too, they encouraged her and pushed her in the right ways and helped her regain her strength and confidence much faster than we expected. The meals were also really good, tasty and balanced and something she actually looked forward to every day. From start to finish Dover Woods gave her such a positive environment and her recovery was fantastic because of it. I highly recommend this place.

I was there during the COVID pandemic, no visitors. The physical therapists spent the majority of their checking their phones. Not so cool. I would love to be able text my speech therapist, Erin. She was a bright light in my day.

I was not walking or climbing stairs or standing on my own after my abdomen surgery it took these ladies hard work and dedication and determination to get me up and going again never giving up on me everyday getting me up and going and my guiding light to get me back to me again. As an ex nursing home administrator, I was extremely pleased with the care and services I received from Doverwood. The highlight of my experience was the physical therapy department. This department not only provides good services, but a great atmosphere and a friendly environment for those patients that are in there they’re very competent very friendly and work well with the residents nursing staff here has been great and extremely responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this facility for short term rehab stays.

One of the most unique nursing homes in the area. The realistic touches of outside society such as the cinema, the pub, and the restaurant make this facility one of the best for your loved ones. When other facilities might have you feeling confined and depressed by the same bland walls, Doverwood Village separates itself by adding these interactive areas for the residents. These additions encourage interactions among the residents which is one of the most important preventative measures regarding cognitive decline. Definitely recommend adding Doverwood to the list of facilities to tour.

Doverwood is a very accommodating facility with cozy nooks to enjoy coffee or hot chocolate with your loved one in. The lobby and halls make it feel like a real quaint little neighborhood with activities (even a theater!) and a warm friendly staff. Highly recommend!

I was very happy with Doverwood. They worked hard to get my grandpa there from a facility that didn't want to give him up. Everyone I talked to there was kind and helpful. It was very clean but didn't feel sterile, it felt like a lived in and welcoming place.

This is the BEST place and experience we have had compared to the other facilities my uncle was at. The staff and facility is TOP NOTCH AWESOME. The facility smells really clean, floors are clean, walking in feels like you’re at Disney. I just can’t say enough GREAT things about the people at Doverwood and the facility. From day 1 have been very impressed, the therapy staff has been very knowledgeable and very professional. They are interested in the pts well being and they show a lot of patience. The time is used in the most beneficial way to help with a speedy recovery. Nursing staff is very professional acting and looking, very knowledgeable. Issues of concerns are noise during the nights and answering of call lights.

My 3 week stay has been a good experience. My room was really nice. Beautiful view of distant parts from top of hill. The physical rehabilitation dept. was fantastic! Especially Jill, Katie, and Keesha who were assigned to my rehabilitation. The others were great too. All worked together as a team! Nursing staff and many of the aids were very caring. At times the overnight nursing station, anxious to nearing shift ending...got very excited and laughed and cut up very very loud especially between 5 and 530am. Not all overnight shifts. I myself was concerned about some of the other patients who weren't needing and or wanting a very early wake up call.....The landscaping is beautiful. The activities center led by Jessica, was fun!. All the different activities and the love and caring was never ending. I would definitely recommend the Doverwood to family and friends as a stopping place while healing. Thank you all so much! The facility itself is ok but unfortunately the care is subpar. If your family member needs after stroke care I would not recommend this facility. In fact like others reviewed, they let my father fall twice requiring a trip to the ER. This facility lacks the trained staff to serve their patients needs. Countless times we were told since my father was a fall risk they would make sure his room would be near the nurses station, this never happened. They state a daily cleaning of the patient and help with brushing teeth. (This didn’t happen) Towels and washcloths would not be replaced daily, we had to do ourselves. Witnessed countless times, over 30 min call light response time. When we tried to address with management all they did was make excuses. They will never learn if they don’t listen to their customers.

I am here at Doverwood doing rehab for a broken hip and shoulder I’m going to be here a while and I’d like to compliment Everyone that works here for their concern and Caring and gentleness. I especially would like to complement Angela, who seems to be very knowledgeable in every department. She's exceptional help to me personally because of the care I need. I’ve been calling her, my guardian angel, and I don’t know what I do without her!

I've enjoyed therapy especially because of 3 people that make it better.. those people are Jill, Katie and Keesha. Jill and Katie challenge me on a regular basis and I am getting better. Keesha has been very helpful to me. On my therapy days she not only comes and gets me, she helps me get dressed and wrap my legs. These 3 girls work very hard and they need to be recognized for the outstanding work that they do.

The care was nothing like 4 years ago. You wouldn’t think that a place could change so much. The therapy was adequate The nursing staff showed little interest in the patients problems. I would give it a one. The aides for the most part were always very willing to help.

My mom just arrived. I am hoping for the best. I will say it's very clean and smells fresh. The room is clean and has a mini fridge that is nice. I like the single rooms, so no roommates. The only thing I saw was that there was no place for me to sit.

I've been a guest since 3/10/2013. There were excellent examples of good help, but there are staff that shouldn't touch people or take care of others.
