Buildings are buildings but a community is made by the staff & residents. Brookdale Findlay is top notch, so happy picking this location for care of loved ones! We enjoy our visits and the staff make it feel like we are coming home. My brother loves everything about Brookdale, and my mom did too before her passing.

Direct care staff and managers go out of their way to make residents feel safe, respected and cared for. They meet individual needs and provide activities/crafts that are engaging and appropriate!

My Aunt has been at Brookdale Findlay since March and she is the happiest I’ve ever seen her. All of the staff is wonderful. One standout employee is the activity director, Debbie. She is pure joy. She genuinely loves the residents and her laugh and personality is contagious. She is an absolute blast! She makes me want to move it. She is so warm, friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much for loving and caring for my Aunt Donna.

My beautiful (92 years of old) mom’s health began failing very quickly (Alzheimer’s and congestive heart failure) forcing my siblings and me to find living arrangements with outstanding professional care. This was incredibly difficult for me because I had promised my mom, I would never put her in a nursing home, but we wanted to keep her and my stepdad together. So, we began the search for assisted living facilities in the area. Based off my limited knowledge of assisted living vs nursing homes and all the negative media of nursing homes, I was skeptical to say the least. We visited three facilities before we made our way to Brookdale Assisted Living in Findlay, OH. The first contact I had was with Beth. Beth was incredible. She spent countless hours answering our all our questions and going above and beyond helping us, going as far as giving us a tour on a Sunday. Of course, finances were an issue and she provided us with financial aid options outside of Brookdale that may be able to help. Alyssa then worked with us on billing questions and issues. Due to health changes, monthly costs needed to be adjusted. Alyssa always was great at helping me work through those issues. My mom was also in Hospice care, so they worked with the nurses at Brookdale on her care for the time we had left. Donna and her team of nurses are highly trained but also provide the residents with care and love. Whenever my mom pressed the call button, they answered immediately and then responded appropriately based off her need at the time. The nurses’ aids treated my mom with the gentlest of hands. She was all but 90 pounds and very unstable on her feet. But they not only took care of her physically, they made connections with her mentally/emotionally as well. One example (out of many) was when we were visiting one evening. Cari walked by the room and told my mom she would be back when her company was gone. She said she had a picture of her cat she wanted to show my mom. My mom LOVED animals and cats especially. Cari had taken the time to connect with my mom to find out her likes even through the obstacle of dementia. Tom keeps the facility clean and beautiful on the inside and outside. They help to take care of the residents’ apartments by making the bed each day and weekly cleaning. This was a huge help as neither of my parents were able to do cleaning tasks. There is an outside square area where the residents and their families can go outside at any time. The residents created above ground garden areas to plant vegetables. What they grow, the cooks prepare for meals and the residents love it! My mom and stepdad didn’t make it to many of the activities due to my mom’s health. But, what I do know is that the activities director, Deb, is amazing. We would walk through while they were working on a craft project, playing bingo or just hanging out in the dining area and the residents were always having a great time. They also take monthly trips outside of Brookdale which look amazing! Deb’s energy is like no other and her love for the residents is clear. And they LOVE her right back! My mom passed away at Brookdale. I made it there in time to be with her and to see the nurse and nurses’ aid’s level of professionalism in caring for her as she passed. I was so thankful for these two ladies for their professionalism but mostly for their care and love for my mom. I will never forget these two ladies. Honestly, I could write a book about the short 3 months my mom was at Brookdale. (My stepdad moved closer to his daughter after my mom’s passing). I wish I had the space to list each staff member by name and what I appreciate about them. The love they have for the residents is evident with every interaction. I was talking with Beth after my mom’s passing expressing the appreciation and gratitude I had for every staff member and what they did for my mom. She chuckled and said, We aren’t perfect. I suppose that is true, but they were perfect for my mom.

Highly recommend Brookdale Findlay for any loved one that needs assisted living. My mom has been there close to 4 years and loves it there. Obviously, since I visit regularly, the staff knows me by name and treats me likely family also. The whole staff is very professional, yet friendly and fun to be around. I never had to worry that moms being taken care of. The cooks make homemade meals each day, laundry is done for mom, activity schedule is awesome. They take residents on little road trip several times a month, and mom loves that. With her dementia, she needs reminded of things she’s done, but I know she always enjoys herself as she’s a people person ! Kudos to Brookdale ’–

The current Brookdale staff in Findlay, Oh is just fantastic! My mother -Adabelle Hartman-who will be 100 in Dec has been there for a number of years and has received compassionate and loving care from this team! Alisha always keep us well informed and is there for us if we need anything. They did a heroic job during Covid in keeping everyone safe! I so appreciate all of them showing such kindness to Mom and our family. They deserve a five-star rating! ❤️

My mother in law loved it at Brookdale. My husband and I were very impressed with the care and attention the residents received. It is a very loving and friendly place. My mother in law enjoyed playing Bingo and painting. She would joke with the caretakers there all of the time. I was very happy to see the cleanliness of the rooms and the care with which they gave her. At the end, the staff could not do enough for us. They kept her clean, comfortable and made sure they moved her periodically. No words can express how happy we were with her stay at Brookdale.

My father-in-law was here for the last year and 1/2 of his life. The staff was always very attentive. We were notified every time there was a concern regarding his condition or care. I have personally eaten then several times with him, the food was fine. These are older people and they do cater to what they like to eat. Yes my father-in- law had a few falls. But this was not the staffs fault at all. Dad still tried to do things for himself, but was not very stable on his feet and would refuse to use the call buttons. As far a stimulation and activities. They have organized exercise time, activities and music. I never had any major concerns for dad's care.
