My Mother and Father moved to DAL in February 2023. We were very excited and hopeful based on what we were told about the care my parents would receive, all of the social activities they would be involved with, assistance to meals, assistance with showers 2x/week, laundry 2x/week, bed linen change 2x/week, minimum number of RNs/LPNs and aids per resident levels, etc. Very quickly, however, it became evident that none of this was going to happen as we were told. My parents were stuck in their room for days, meals were brought to their room on trays (not their choice of food items). They had no table in their room so they were trying to figure out where to eat in the room. Physician orders for meds consistently were not retrieved; they went days without critical meds. Showers were nearly non-existent and haphazard. I had to go DAL and hunt down aides (who I usually found sitting on their own, often seemingly hiding) to make sure they provided needed and proper care. I had to put my parents’ laundry basket in the hall and inform workers of the need for them to do laundry. Bed was not changed regularly as in care plan. And speaking of the care plan, none of the workers followed it. I had to call daily to ask the facility to take my parents to activities that were pre-selected for them, and to be taken to the dining room for their meals. My Mom fell often due to safety standards not being followed. Aides would pull her walker such that she had to hurry behind it. My Mom would be left in her wheelchair without the brakes on and without her walker within reach, resulting in struggles to move and in many falls. Workers allowed her to fall by not helping her and then would not report the falls. We even have video of a fall and how the aid reacted to it. When we notified this fall to the facility, the aid and the facility denied the fall even happened, and it had not been reported. Sadly, after being at this facility for 15 months, my Mom passed away. My Dad was not checked on for 14 hours nightly from 6pm to 8am; he was not toileted during this time, and there certainly were not “eyes” on him every 2 hours as required. I went to the Nurse Director who stated that she was aware of poor care at night and was going to look into it. Nothing changed. I had my Dad checked for UTI, which was positive. I had PT ordered, and it was PT that found and reported a bed sore to me, not the aides or nurses who should have found the bed sore. Next my Dad’s UTI went into pneumonia, sepsis and death Keep your loved ones out of this facility, which sadly seems to be how all of these facilities are operated. They tell you wonderful things that they will do for your family member, but they do not do what they say; rather they say what you want to hear and then totally fail to provide loving, caring, beneficial care. You have to maintain constant oversight and be a constant reminder to the facility and staff by calling, visiting and checking on them daily. Highly recommend you put Ring (or similar) video cameras in your family member’s rooms, as it is the only way to help you see what really is happening (and not happening). You have to advocate for them 24/7 or they will be left to manage on their own. This facility does not provide true assisted living or proper human care. We could share a lot more, in detail, of our experiences, but we will leave it to the above for now.

It is so difficult to trust your loved one's care to others, especially when they are suffering from dementia. This place was such a blessing to our family during some truly difficult times. The care and kindness they showed to my mother was extraordinary and I will always be grateful to them for all of it. The place and the grounds are beautiful, but the staff are really what makes it special.

When my Mom could no longer live by herself, I visited several assisted living locations and felt strongly that Dublin Assisted Living and Memory care was the best choice for her. Hands down the welcoming, caring attitude of the staff (administrators, nurses, care partners) at DAL stood out to me. I knew Mom was safe and cared for. I sincerely appreciate all DAL did for her and for me.

We recently relocated to Ohio to be close to family. My husband has dementia, so I needed to find the best facility in the area for him. I did some research and toured several facilities before choosing Dublin Retirement Village. It has been a perfect choice for us. It is a safe environment with a caring, professional staff. The memory care area is clean, bright, and homey. The vintage decor is an added touch. There are daily activities and special additions like milkshake Mondays and root beer float Thursdays. An incredible bonus for us is the nature preserve directly behind the facility. Weather permitting, we take walks on the wheelchair friendly paved paths. I highly recommend Dublin Retirement Village!

I would highly recommend Dublin Retirement Village in any of the areas of care. My grandmother lived in independent living many years ago, and I know she was pleased with the staff, personal rooms, amenities, activities, etc, and so was our family. Because of this, when it became time to find a Memory Care space for my mom, Dublin Retirement Village was on our list of places to look into. Is it easy to get to this point? Not at all. Did I drag my feet? Yes. But ... when it came to what was BEST for my mom (and my dad), DRV Memory Care was hands down the best "home away from home." The accommodations were lovely and provide just what my mom needed. The staff was professional, friendly, and they ALL treated my mom like family. It is impossible to find a place that is exactly like home, but it put my mind at ease when I saw how my mom was cared for and spoken to. Sadly, my mom passed away from Alzheimer's disease in June 2025, and when that happened, the staff was caring and warm to me and my family. My dad continues to visit the staff and residents there, so I know that even 6+ months later, the Memory Care space continues to be a wonderful place for those that need it. I am really grateful for those that run, staff, work at, and support DRV Memory Care.

My mom moved into Senior Star Memory Support two years ago. Our journey to get to that day was long and difficult. We toured three memory support facilities and Senior Stars stood out in so many ways. I could tell by the large open and inviting spaces that this was truly special in how they approach care. Stepping into the lobby, a beautiful space with comfy couches, chairs, fireplace, grand piano - and best of all, a front desk staffed with the friendliest people. A quick look to the right, and there is the Senior Star Cafe, a trendy space with coffee/tea/hot chocolate, fancy water (always something special to add fresh flavor), popcorn machine, treats, fresh fruit, sandwiches and an array of seating options that truly invite you to gather, sit, and chat. There are daily puzzles to try, newspapers, books, and a large screen TV that always is streaming something interesting to watch or learn. Further to the right is a beautiful dining room and and a private dining room that any resident or family can reserve. While Mom is in Memory Support, she and I come to the front to sit and enjoy these amenities. We love to sit and chat with the Assisted Living residents and their families. Family is also welcome to dine in the dining room for any meal. We love to do this and do it often! Mom's apartment in Memory Support is truly her own space. We brought in a few of her things to make her happy. Her window looks out toward the park and has a pine tree with birds and squirrels. We put up a bird feeder and struggle to keep it full with all the critters that visit. The nursing staff is awesome. They provide professional care at all times. We know them and they know us. I ask questions all the time and they always take time to be with us. There are two dining rooms and they are designed so that all the residents, regardless of where they are in their journey, come to the dining room and are accommodated with exactly what they need. This is special and unique. Ask Mom, she will tell you "Any time I don't have to cook, I'm happy." She loves the meals and getting together with her friends. Ask Mom about the activities, she will tell you she doesn't have time to be bored. Zoomba, trivia, bingo, baking club, happy hour (yep, they have real happy hours) movie nights, lectures, travel talks, Jeopardy watch parties, birthday parties, and so many holiday themed parties. So much going on all the time. Mom now feels comfortable going on outings in the shuttle to fun events, this is something she truly loves. Someone is always playing on one of the many pianos, or picking tunes on the juke box to play as they shop and play at the Country Store. The hallways are wide and invite roaming for residents that are feeling restless. Everywhere are sensation stations to stop and explore. Lots of jewelry, hats, cookware, clothes, blankets, trinkets, to pick up and explore. My favorites are the baby changing station, the wedding dress, and the tool station complete with hardhats. So many things to keep busy. Beautiful patios, a secure garden space in the memory area has a classic car, many seated areas, raised gardens (gardening club!). Beyond the building I take Mom for walks in the park - just right there! This is truly an ideal setting. My last message to you - yes, its difficult, no it's not home, but, ask Mom - "If I can't be in my house, I'd rather live here." She has so much more enrichment now than she ever would living at home (not an option) or with me (always an option, but she politely declines, loves her apartment!) And every Friday there is a Caregiver Support Group meeting. This is run by the head nurse and it is the opportunity to bring up ALL things weighing on your mind in a very safe space to share. Incredibly beautiful group of family that care for each other.

I highly recommend Senior Star at Dublin Retirement Village. I have had family in both independent living and memory care for over 2 1/2 years. The staff is extremely friendly and they feel like family to us. The care workers in memory care pay close attention to the residents and they help them participate in many activities throughout the day. They handle my mom’s meds so one thing I don’t have to manage. There are fun events throughout the year for independent living and assisted living that my entire family attends, including my kids. The property is beautiful with a gorgeous patio out back with a nature preserve. We are happy with our loved ones there!

The decision to move a family member into a Retirement facility is not an easy one but from our first visit to DRV, my parents and I were certain this was the place for them. They moved into Independent Living at the end of Covid. Of course, there was an adjustment period to moving from your own home into "apartment" living but once they they figured out dining, activities and getting to know the staff they really began enjoying their new life. They were in IL for about a year and a half, then moved over to Assisted Living as my mother's health began to deteriorate and needed more help with daily tasks. After 6 months, my mother passed away and we moved my dad over to Memory Care. He had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s several years earlier and it had progressed. It takes special people to take care of these individuals and over the past 2 and a half years, my family and I have been amazed at the love and care they have given our father. There are always bumps along the way as your family members’ health and cognitively changes but there are different strategies that can be put into place to better care for your loved one. The management team is open and willing to assist with any concerns or needs you may have, you just have to reach out. Being involved and present at DRV will further enhance both you and your loved one’s experience as everyone wants what is best. My father passed away recently, and we really miss our DRV family.

When the time came for my parents to move to assisted living. From day one they were wonderful. All the staff worked very hard this was during COVID. As things progressed with the passing of my mom and my dad was moved to memory care. I work in the medical field and have worked in long term care. I have never been to a facility like DRV. They kept us in the loop with my dad. The Crew was awesome and they took such good care of our dad. If we had any concerns we could just talk to Liz, Paula and care team. They listened and together we would get it worked out. When it came time for my dad to pass. Their support was so comforting and they were in and out during the process. Some of the care partners ( Ellie and Rachel RIP)came to the funeral home which was amazing. This is a hard job to do and they did it with such grace. I would recommend and have to the DRV to friends and coworkers. I again would like to thank these wonderful humans for all the love and care they gave not only to my parents but to us the family.

My mother was at the Independent Living side of Dublin Retirement for 91/2 years. For that period of time I give the facility 5 stars. It’s such a friendly place and she was always busy with activities, outings, and parties. Everyone seemed to know her name when she moved in and she made many close friends while she was there. The staff and management are caring and friendly to everyone. Once my mom’s health declined and she needed more help I had to move her to assisted living. The managers were very nice and wanted to ensure good care. But I feel there was not enough staff or (care partners) to do a good job. I had to go in frequently to meet with nursing management. The RN’s on staff were always attentive and notified me when anything happened. I felt they were very good. When my mom’s health declined entered hospice she had more attention. I believe they are hiring more staff now and I hope this improves the situation. Overall we had a wonderful experience when she was at Dublin Retirement.

I highly recommend Senior Star Memory Care at Dublin Retirement Village to anyone looking for peace of mind for the care, safety, and contentment of their loved one. I give top marks to personnel, facilities, activities, and all aspects of the community. Administrators, nursing staff, care partners, activities coordinator, and all support groups provide a sincere, loving commitment to the well-being of the residents. Many have shared with me that they chose this work because of previous experience with their own family members. I have experienced excellent communication with all. And I deeply appreciate the fondness my wife has developed for her care givers and nurses. Apartments, bathrooms, common areas (including dining room, activities areas, decorated hallways with multiple, diverse theme stations, and outdoor patio-garden) are all kept clean, well decorated, and secure. Several of our friends who have visited have remarked not only how charming the facility is, but have even commented about a noticeable absence of the typical nursing-home smell. I appreciate the staff’s encouragement for residents to partake in the daily schedule of activities, including chair-exercise and games, baking club, story time, etc. All activities seem to be directed toward stimulating physical and mental health and a community atmosphere. Friendships and bonds made with residents' spouses and family members have provided very beneficial support for one-another, practically and emotionally, dealing with common experiences with our loved ones. Our time at Senior Star has yielded a valuable second family. And I have a peace each day as I leave, knowing that my wife is safe, content, and in good hands.

A little more than a year ago my mom moved from Florida to Dublin Ohio to be close to family. After extensive research on independent living communities, tours, and speaking to residents my mom chose The Senior Star at Dublin Retirement Village and she LOVES it! The reason I give the Senior Star at Dublin Retirement Village 5 Star’s is the Staff, Culture, Activities, and the actual apartments and grounds. During the multiple tours we took with Cara, we were able to meet both staff and residents. What we picked up quickly when residents stopped Cara or another staff member was the staff knows every residents name and the residents love the staff. On the last visit before my mom moved in Dionne Nicol the director told my mom to come to her if she needed anything. I thought yeah right, but a year plus later Dionne is as good as her word and that is the culture throughout the entire team. My mom chose a two bedroom/ bath apartment with balcony. She says the balcony is so peaceful as it backs to the Trabue Nature Preserve. Spring, Summer and Autumn residents utilize the beautiful patio for meals, watching concerts or participating in parties and events. The grounds are truly beautiful. My mom went from sitting in her home with very little activity to a stimulating active life. Amy the PROGRAM Coordinator is AMAZING!!! She plans activities, concerts and leads so many groups, clubs. When my mom moved in Amy quickly got to know her and was able to assigned her an ambassador so she could acclimate to life at the Dublin Retirement Village. Examples: My mom chooses to go to exercise classes Monday through Friday. One of her favorite activities is Chair Volley ball on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday’s and I have to say after playing, it is so much fun!! Once a month there is a staff/ residents game and it is COMPETITIVE as was the game against Jerome’s girls Varsity team. Beat The Drum, Senior Star Showstoppers Drama Club, Chair Tap Dancing and the Wednesday and Friday Happy Hours are activities that she rarely misses. Amy was also instrumental in my mom joining the Dublin Buddy Program where she was matched with a lovely young lady. Over the last 6 months they have attended several fun activities together and last month my mom went to watch the school play that she was in. Bottom line, I am so happy my mom is living close and that she has a full and very happy life at the Senior Star Dublin Retirement Village. Thank you to all of the staff that work tirelessly to make the residents happy and fulfilled.

Their lack of integrity, incompetence, and non-existent accountability to execute basic safety requirements, while a family member repeatedly reached out to an entire organization, including upper and executive management and the local ombudsman with cries for help and documented proof/pictures is appalling. They lack proactiveness, empathy, a desire to provide a positive customer experience, and basic organizational skills. They lean towards medication to solve problems. They repeatedly told us one thing, in terms of medical care and safety protocols for a high fall-risk resident and did not execute what they said they would do. We installed a video camera which showed us proof of this.

As family members, my two brothers and I have made the journey with our parents, beginning in 2013, through the Dublin Retirement Village "Life Styles" from independent, to assisted living, and when Dad passed away, Mom moved immediately to the Memory Care facility. The tailored care given at each of these stages of need was superb, the staff was caring and responsive to unforeseen incidents and continue to this day to work toward bettering the living areas as well as tailoring the care to better meet both collective and individual needs of the residents. Through the Covid pandemic, community and social engagement has been so important. Hats off to the staff at Dublin retirement village. Not only do they provide excellent care but also a strong sense of community. There are so many senior living places to choose from that have really nice buildings and Starbucks in the lobby but when it comes to service and mental care of your loved one, this is the place to choose. Every one of the staff here operates on such a high level from the executive director on down. It’s no wonder that the residents there don’t ever think about moving because of the friends that they have made and the engagement they’ve had with both each other and staff. Hats off to you Senior Star for doing such a great job! P.S. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how good the food is here!

I have family here and am continually disappointed with the cost vs services provided. For Independent Living you’re looking at around 5000 a month. This includes a mediocre dinner a day. It also includes a snack room with coffee and a few snacks. Surprised that the only other included thing is room cleaning. Which is a one time a week sweeping (no moving anything just sweep around it). They also remove trash one time a week. They appear to keep residents fairly engaged but it’s inconsistent and my understanding is that it’s somewhat repetitive. The grounds are nice but the building feels dated. The walking trails behind the building are a saving Grace. Plenty of open air space for a walk. Overall. Overpriced mediocre Senior care with a charismatic director who somehow keeps many of the residents happy enough to stay.

Best way to describe this community: Loving, upbeat, clean and comfortable. Clinical Care: nursing team has been very consistent over the past 14 months. Many nurses have been working with Dublin Retirement for 12+ months, some since the community opened. Very little turnover in nursing. Clinical team knows the residents and assignments well. The nurses work with a rounding Neurologist, OSU Primary Care Physician, 2 CNPs, psychiatry, and podiatry. The community partnerships offer (IN HOUSE ) PT/ OT/ Speech, Skilled Nurse Services, lab, X-Ray and efficient pharmacy services. Administrator is a true team player, you can find her helping on the floor, styling residents hair, assisting with scheduling, serving food or helping in activities. Programs: The best hidden secret! Delay the Disease, Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s, yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba Gold, Gardening, Painting, Crafting, Happy Hours and the list goes on. Residents are happy, cared for and loved at this community. Many residents consider the care givers family. I’ve been able to observe many other communities in the area, this community really does have a lot to offer. I would recommend this community for loved ones and potential employees.

Committed to excellence for their clients and team. This is reflected in the wonderful environment and feeling you get, not just from the beautiful decor, but more importantly, the genuine feeling of home.

Mom lives here. Nice place, people. Food is worse than average but you don't need to cook it. The big difference here is the rooms don't have microwaves but do have stoves! Clearly built decades ago, but well maintained. In a Park setting, but few residents are able enough to enjoy it. .

I am part of the Dublin Shamrockettes dance troupe and we danced there this week. We were well welcomed with very professional staff, fed an excellent meal, and had a large resident turnout. We talk with the attendees afterward and they appeared to love the facility. We are looking forward to returning and would consider it as a future home.

Friendly, attentive staff. Good security and food. There are many activities that include resident family members who do not live at the DRV. Management has worked hard to build a friendly community that is inclusive.

I had time to come in and visit Dublin Assisted Living and Memory Support before volunteering on Easter. I was so impressed with the community and the staff. The community is inviting, from the moment you walk in. It’s bright and open. The spaces are large but not overwhelming. I felt like I was in a five star hotel and the staff didn’t disappoint. They were friendly and kind. They introduced themselves and welcomed me. I then had the pleasure of returning on Easter to volunteer with my wife who works in the community. We had the pleasure of working along side the dining staff to provide Easter lunch to residents and their families. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to many more great memories being made at this community.
