The visit with my friend was awesome. However, the facility was a little disappointing. The second we entered the double doors a strong scent of urine hit us in the face. We turned on another Hallway and bam there it was again. It could have been potty time. But we were there at least an hour. The smell never went away. I'm hoping this was just a bad day and it won't be that way on the next visit. Thank you.

Just did the new visitors log-in system at Cottingham Retirement Community. It is much more advanced than their prior system, providing additional security to the residents and staff. After entering basic information and getting a face scan, I received a visitor pass (which included a face photo) to apply to my shirt/coat. Logging out was easy, and any return visits are now a breeze. The system scans your face and you just need to verify and get the pass. For this to work, front desk staff needs to prompt all visitors to use the system. I too need prompting, as I have not had to check in for so long.

Lovely facility. The staff are kind and helpful. My mother is in the memory care section and her nurses and aides are lovely, compassionate, and empathetic. It's not a brand new shiny facility, but it's clean, in good repair, and very safe for the residents.

My dad has been here for almost two weeks and the experience has been great. The HR team, nurses, and staff have all been very helpful, welcoming, and supportive. The move-in process was smooth and accommodating, which made the transition much easier. I would definitely recommend this place.

I am just getting started here? I have met some great people here? I am happy to be here as well. I will see how things go here. I do not have any family at all? I have good acquaintances here? Yet I will have to give it more time to get familiar with this place. I hope things will improve here soon. It is not easy being alone with no family or extended friends to speak of. All of my friends and family are all gone. I am starting over again from scratch.

My elderly Aunt has recently moved from her 2 bedroom condo into a 1 bedroom independent living apartment at Cottingham. It is a lovely space and she could not be happier. They have Catholic Mass available on Saturday at 3. I joined her for Mass and stayed for dinner after. Ot was all quite lovely. Moreover, she feels safe and secure. All the staff we have interacted with are kind and welcoming.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating for anything my mom needs. She’s lived there over 15 years and has been in all the levels of careindependent, assisted and skilled nursing and has been very well cared for in each. My one suggestion is to have available folding chairs in resident rooms so visitors can sit down to visit, especially since my mom is not mobile any longer.

Everyone is so kind, patient, and genuinely caring ” it’s clear they love what they do. The residents are AWESOME! The floor staff, nursing and patient care is fantastic! The administration is very bad. In over 30 years of practicing law I have never encountered so much lack of transparency and little regard for residents rights. Residents, you all are fantastic! Floor staff is great. WATCH THE BACK OF YOIR LOVED ONES WHEN DEALING WITH ADMINISTRATION.

I was visiting Ivy court to visit my great grandmother I came in contact with a nurse by the name of Dee, the way she helped my great grandmother was amazing her personality, her warming smile, and the way she interact with the residents just puts a smile on my face, just to know the way she cares for my relative makes me feel very happy. Any questions that I had she was able to answer, and if she was unsure she went to go find help. Thank you Dee for all that you do, it really takes a special person to be a nurse,

I wanted to learn more about cottingham, as my mom was interested and in moving from a nursing home to a facility with less care required. No one returned my calls. Ever. Not one single time. Then I finally found out that they do not accept residents with motorized wheelchairs, which was further disappointing.

Cottingham is one of the best facilities I have visited. The staff is very nice and the rooms are layed out well and have been updated with current appliances and fixtures. My Dad even loves the food. They are located next to two shopping centers too. They have shuttle services to local restaurants and Kroger’s. I am very happy he picked Cottingham. Update: Sadly my Dad passed. Our last conversations included discussions around the staff and people at Cottingham. He was amazed how quickly he settled in and how much he still loved the facility.

As any adult child, I was worried about my father's happiness and well-being as he transitioned to a retirement community. The entire staff at Cottingham made the transition so easy. I felt so happy when I walked into Cottingham the day after his first night here and found him exploring the complex with coffee in his hand and a big smile on his face.

I think the staff there really tries to care for the patients despite being under staff at times. My biggest complaint is the laundry service. We lose a lot of clothing and get back alot that isn't ours.

Every time I visit my mother in Ivy court it's a particular nurse who always has such a friendly smile, I believe she told me to call her Dee. I didn’t get the whole tour yet. I was visiting a friend and by the time we ate out and shopped I was too tired to walk the whole place, but I will be back. What I saw was beautiful, and the staff I saw were friendly and helpful. I was particularly happy with the activity calendar - there’s something for everyone. From what I saw everything thing was great. I was only there a short time. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and professional! Unfortunately my sister is under hospice care. The facility is clean and kept up and up to date. Just see for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed. I will see my sister as long as I can. Don't overlook this facility.

I was treated kindly by front desk and nurses station. Sharon, RN has been most kind and helpful every time I have visited. Christine Bush was generous with her time and helped with a Medicaid application. I was glad to meet with the new Director of Nursing. Of course as long as my mother is happy and pleasant, I am always happy to see her.
