Just help my grandma move into an assisted living Studio apartment. When we began touring other assisted living in Ashtabula County the Lantern of Saybrook was very prompt with returning our call and giving us a tour. Carrie the marketing director is very friendly, down to earth and helped us with the process every step of the way, and great communication. All of the staff we have met so far are all very friendly and give you the feel like you've known them for years. I feel at ease knowing that my grandma is around good-hearted people.

Not quite sure where all of these wonderful reviews are coming from. I have seen first hand. No one at the desk to let you in on the weekend. Or one during the week. The nurses promise to take care of a problem, but don't. Never anyone out in the halls. It has a ghost town vibe to it. They say procedure hasn't been followed, but it has. There is written proof to prove this. But they blame it on the visitors. The nurses although nice and polite. They tell family they will take of a compliant, but again never do. I'm sure this will never be published as a review. So shame on this deceiving facility.

We are so blessed to have found this place for our father. The staff from top to bottom is above excellence. No one passes the buck and is always to help in any way that they can including maintenance and secretaries. We can rest at night knowing that all his needs and then some are taken care of. Herschel has settled in and we are greatfil that they were patient with him and allowed him to take the time to feel as if it is his home. If you have any questions you are free to reach out to me at maddy2021moo.com and I will be willing to tell you of our wonderful experience here. All of the staff is like one big extended family. This is just what we needed. Thankful and blessed. Kelly Mlack, BSN

I currently am a nurse at the lantern of saybrook and never have I enjoyed a job more than I do this one. The caregivers go above and beyond for not only our clients but the nursing staff as well. The administration does everything thing they possibly can to accommodate my schedule and make sure I have wonderful experience here. They always have the best activities here to keep their minds moving thanks to our fabulous swayas coordinator. I love this place and all of my clients that reside here.

Our father has lived here over 18 months. The staff is caring and look out for him every day. They keep us informed of changes and needed info and are fiercely protective of him, like family. They strive to be 100% to all of their residents. It is a very busy place, but they have more staff then some other facilities he has stayed. I recommend the Lantern Facility to care for your loved ones.

After some research Carl, Carmen passed a while ago and you posted this 2 days ago????????(how is what you posted possible) I think it is a wonderful thing what they do for people BUT not what you do. I wonder what comes up when we google your name? Speaking of research, assisted living homes do not require STNAs to work there.

The Lantern lifestyle is how all assisted living facilities should be. We should be taking better care of our older people, especially this generation because they helped build America and make it what it is today.

Hello everyone. I am a student at Kent State University and I chose to do my internship here at the Lantern. I had a great experience. The program by which they operate is truly revolutionary. The staff at the Lantern recognizes that making the move from home to a facility is one of lifes most difficult transitions. The Lantern is a beautiful building that employs people who believe in the betterment of those receiving care. I could go on and on about how great the staff is because they need to know how much of an impact they have had on me and how much I appreciate them. In closing, I would just like to say that I will remember the skill sets that were instilled in me through this experience for the rest of my professional career. I hope that one day all long term care facilities operate by the same standards by which the Lantern of Saybrook does. Thank you!

It is really amazing to have created such a wonderful program like we have here. Its really something. To see how residents change through out living here is amazing. I love working here and all the employees. They really make you feel like family. If your loved one has Alzheimers they need to be here. There is always hope.

Due to an injury, our father has been in the hospital and at a skilled facility. I have never missed a group of caregivers more then i miss our Lantern family. Dad is safe, clean and being cared for while he is rehabing. The skilled facility workers are caring, efficient and knowlegable. However, it is the intangibles that are missing. The love these people show all of us, not just our father is irreplaceable. They have visited Dad, taken him cards and gifts, listened to me as i whine, weep due to his condition and give advice. They miss him as much as he misses them. They truly care about their residents as well as our family. Xoxo
