The building is full of roaches and other bugs. There are rats larger than a kitten. I see roaches in the hall, both the bathroom vanity and kitchen sink. They’re on the walls. Cigarette smoke in the bedroom, and my connected neighbor doesn’t smoke. The drugs are bad. There’s young and old people who are the worst individuals on the planet. I’ve resided in less than stellar buildings, but this takes the cake. I’ve been robbed more than I can count, with the home break ins. The old folks carry on just as bad as the younger ones. Drug deals are done in the open. The so called security cameras are a joke, and not being monitored. The staff does not care, period. I’m subjected to the smell of a barn daily. The building refuses to do anything about it. Theft is very common in the building, which includes vandalism and other. One minute I have heat, the next minute it turns to air. I’ve had about three different stoves. A package was stolen from inside my apartment, and because the worthless detective with a badge says he couldn’t see it on camera he dismissed what I said. When dealing with criminal, deliberately deleting footage is real, inside jobs are real.

The new management here is horrible. Far from the compassionate people who were here before capital realty took over. The entire renovation left several with severe anxiety and complaints about issues during that time were completely ignored.

To think these use to hotel rooms! Funny thing is... its completely more complicated then a hotel. But just as good. The 2 floor chandelier is old has a lot of history but it's the 1st thing u see when the front door is opened. As you walk past the front desk and make it to the elevator there is a sitting area. Tables for chess or checkers or cards. That would be a good place to hang.

Looking forward to the renovation of the Mayflower Manor. Lived here over 16years. Love my apartment. Love living downtown close to Lock3, The Civic Theater, and many great restaurants. Even though I was disappointed that past owners let things go downhill, I am hopeful for the future here at Mayflower Manor.

One of the most significant events in American spiritual history occurred here in 1935. Bill Wilson made a series of phone calls from the lobby of the Mayflower and fortuitously made contact with Dr.Bob. This eventually led to the creation of Alcoholics Anonymous and writing of the Big Book. Visiting this place filled me with humble reverence and keen awareness that God truly does work in mysterious ways!

A quiet renaissance is being planned for the 1931 Art-Deco masterpiece of South Main Street in Akron, OH, the former hotel where Alcoholics Anonymous was founded. After many false starts from past deals that fell through, The former Hotel Mayflower has been acquired by new owners who will oversee a $10 million dollar renovation.
