I honestly can’t say enough good things about The Fountains at RiverVue. My 93-year-old mom moved in last summer, and from the very beginning, she felt genuinely welcomed. It just has that kind of warm, friendly atmosphere. What really stands out is the staff. So many of them have been there a long time, which says a lot. You can tell they truly care. Over and over, we saw people go out of their way to treat my mom with kindness, respect, and real dignity, and that meant everything to us. There’s also always something going on - activities every day that are actually interesting and fun, not just filler. My mom also loved sitting out on the patio in the summer, reading her newspaper and chatting with other residents. It just feels like a community in the best sense of the word. Looking back, my only regret is that she didn’t move there sooner. It was such a positive change from the increasing isolation she was starting to feel at home 'aging in place'. Very grateful for this place and the people in it.

One of the reasons we chose the Fountains for my mother in law was because the cost was reasonable and we were paying for it. Usually when you pay less you get less, but that was not the case with the Fountains. The staff is exceptional. Many of them are long time employees, which is not typical at assisted living facilities. There is always an activity for the residents and my mother in law loved the food. The facility is over 20 years old and not lavish. However, they made major updates and redecorated while my mother in law was there. The setting is quiet, with many beautiful views. My mother in law loved to sit outside on the front patio in the warm weather and talk and take in the scenery. The facility was purchased by Monarch last, and I was bracing for them to ruin things, but that has not been the case. We are thankful we found the Fountains.

For families that are reading these posts as they do their due diligence as I did for my uncle, you have found the right home for your loved one. From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by Keisha, with her sweet personality and big smile, I felt a sense of warmth & welcome. Katrina (the best), walked me through the process and tempered all my concerns with regard to my uncle and making this move into independent living. It isn't an easy decision to make a life changing event for a loved one. But she put my mind at ease and we moved forward. It was the best decision. From the nursing staff (Millicent & Karen), to the activities director (Regan), to the relations manager (Arielle), to the maintenance staff, they are all simply the best. Honestly, one big family. I have to say it put my mind at ease knowing my uncle was taken care of and excelled during his time at Rivervue. Thank you!

While the location is miles from the city The Fountains is conveniently located a train ride away via Metro North. The grounds are beautiful. The people are caring and lovely. My parents moved to The Fountains in 2018 after living in another assisted living residence in Westchester County. Even with my mom’s declining health, the staff at The Fountains never made my parents feel unwelcome the way the other facility did. On the contrary: this administration, staff and support team were always caring and accommodating. After my mom passed, my dad continued to be surrounded by the kind of warmth you’d expect from a facility looking after seniors. The Fountains Assisted Living Facility is a place you or your loved one can call home from the moment you walk through the front door. The concierge is bright, welcoming and will assist you in areas of need. The entire staff from department heads, nursing team, recreation department, maintenance team, kitchen staff and cleaning crew work together to make sure the residents are happy, safe and supported in any way possible. The Fountains at Rivervue also have a great therapy program through Fox Rehab with two in house therapists including a Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist that are qualified to treat and meet the needs for all residents.

My brother and I went through a very frightening experience when our Mother had a stroke a few weeks ago. When she was released from the hospital I called Monica and Christine at The Fountains at River Vue. They were amazing. River Vue is a beautiful community. The Fountains has become a wonderful home for my mother. She loves the comfort and privacy of her own apartment, has made good friends and feels safe and secure. The Fountains staff sees to all of this, with a diverse offering of outside and in-house activities and such daily support services as she requires. When she was not longer able to manage living alone, we helped her choose an assisted living facility as a new home. My siblings and I are very happy with how the Fountains enables our mother to continue to thrive. We can confirm many of the other positive reviews. As for negative reviews, I can only state that assisted living solutions work best when family stays involved and regularly communicate with staff. Our mother could move elsewhere, but she cannot imagine a better place than the Fountains as her permanent home.

The decision to have my mom live there 5 1/2 years ago has proven to be the best decision we have ever made. During regular times there are many activities and interaction among residents, There are trips to the bank, post office, library and supermarket for those who need it. My parents moved into The Fountains in 2016, after I researched & visited multiple assisted living facilities in the Westchester area. I liked the homey feel here, as opposed to the other places that looked more like a facility. My mother passed in 2017 after a decade long illness and was always treated well by the nursing staff and aides, especially Cassie (she's the best!). My father continues to enjoy living there because there is always something for him to do or someone to hang out with, enjoys the quiet time sitting on the patio, and devours the meals. While he doesn't require an aide at this stage everybody is always keeping an eye on him & just really sweet to him, so that is a huge peace of mind for me. Special shout-out to the kitchen staff who always know what he wants to order; Reaghan for always keeping the residents busy with fun stuff, even during the quarantine; and Keisha, the absolute heart & soul of the place.

What a difference 4 or 5 months can make. If I were reviewing the Fountains a year ago, I would give it very good marks for quality of care and the great staff attitude. However, with multiple changes in the Senior Management - including both the Director and Nursing Department Manager, the quality and feel of the facility have nosedived. This appears to be reflected in the significant reduction in occupancy rate. Highly recommend you keep looking.

My father has been there only eight days now, but in that short a period of time he has come to regard The Fountains at RiverVue as not only a great choice in assisted living, but a home in place of home. The entire staff made his transfer from his home of 60 years (after a detour through hospital and rehab) a painless experience. He is very happy about the food and dining (we agree, after enjoying Father's Day evening in their dining room!) and that makes him very happy. We know he is safe and being well cared for. His apartment is spacious enough and has a terrific view of not only the gardens but the village center of Tuckahoe and the river (Yes, it's true -- "a river runs through it!") as well. We hope his stay continues happy and without any miscues.

Choosing the right Assisted Living facility for a loved one is a hugely consequential decision. I could not have done better than my choice of the Fountains. My 84 year old aunt moved to the Fountains in 2015. She had recently come out of extended rehab, was weak and under weight, and no longer able to live alone. As with most families that are new to assisted living, I didn't quite know what to expect with such a dramatic transition for my spirited and independent aunt. The results were both surprising and heart warming. Not only did my aunt return to a healthy weight, her interaction with the active community at the Fountains revealed a different side of her personality that was more engaged and confident and happy than I had seen in many years. My aunt regularly bragged about apartment cleaning and laundry service, enjoyed the shuttle service to local stores and took up new hobbies. None of this was an accident. While the Fountains management is made up of departments, they work together as a seamless, integrated whole, ensuring that each resident is given the best opportunity to enjoy life with dignity and respect. I was an engaged family member, and was pleased and gratified that Fountains' staff were readily available for consults or to answer questions. To a person, they are courteous, professional and dedicated. In that regard, I would like to recognize the Fountains' Executive Director, Stephanie. In a previous role at the Fountains, Stephanie became an indispensable component in assisting with management of my aunt's well being. She is smart, experienced, pro-active, and deeply empathetic. Indeed, Stephanie was as much a resource to me as she was to my aunt. As Executive Director, Stephanie brings these qualities to the management of the whole facility, which should provide all resident families with comfort and confidence. This kind of dedication extends to each of the Fountain' staff. Keisha, who manages the front desk, is a larger-than-life personality whose optimism, patience and humor sets a tone for guests and residents alike, rooted in a deep professionalism and caring. Amenities are often showcased as the lead attraction in assisted living facilities. They are certainly important, and the Fountains has its share of standouts. But the true worth of a facility are in its people. Experienced, caring, dependable, responsible. The Fountains has mastered the magic to make this crucial piece work for its residents, and it is why the Fountains should be a first stop if you are choosing assisted living for yourself or a family member.
