From the moment, my father was placed at Elderwood Greece, after a month’s Long displacement,we knew we had found exactly where he should be. It started with Sheila Turner, the wonderful administrator and HillarySchmartolla-Brooks, The director of nursing; who made us feel not only welcome, but supported and cared for. My father announced to us in 24 hours that he didn’t want to leave, stating that he had found his home. Now, if you believe that people end up exactly where they should be, then my dad is exactly where he needs to be. The beautiful picture window in his room, overlooks the same woods that he played in as a young boy. Thank you to Sheila and her amazing staff for their wonderful care of our dad! Elderwood was recommended to my mother and me as a good option for our family member. We got a great feeling the moment we turned onto the drive and our experience just got better and better! We didn't have an appointment, but within a few minutes we were meeting with Sheila, the Administrator. Sheila provided us with all the information we needed which included giving us a tour and introducing us to the staff and residents. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the building was clean and homelike. We looked at another facility, but it didn't compare. The next day Sheila met our family member and us at the hospital and guided us through the process to get him admitted. He's been there two weeks now and we couldn't be happier. I should add that I was licensed by the NY State Department of Health as a Nursing Home Administrator in the mid-1980s. Until retiring, I spent my entire career in senior care in Ohio, New York and California. I know what to look for. I don't know where Elderwood is finding these wonderful people who work for them, or how they are doing what they do at the rates they are charging. I'm just glad we were recommended to Elderwood and hope that our family member is able to stay under the professional and loving care of the staff for as long as possible.

Our mom had a fall in her home and we decided it was time she moved out of her home. She's 92 and in good health but needed some care and overcite. She's been at Elderwood for just over 8 months and we love this place, but more importantly she likes the place too. They are very attentive to her needs, everyone is friendly and personable. They have a lot of different and fun daily activities that keep the residents active and engaged. I'm not sure how many words I get, but we really are pleased we found Elderwood and know our moms in a great place.

They took care of my grandma for 6 years, all the way up to her last breath. I highly recommend this place, these workers care and the nursing staff is phenomenal. My grandma had Alzheimer's and they knew exactly how to care for her. My grandma was always laughing and joking around with the staff.

My mom has been at Elderwood - Greece for five years. From the beginning, the staff welcomed her with open arms and showed her such love and caring. Over her time there, mom has suffered some challenges with her anxiety but Erica, Jill, Hunter, Bonnie and the incredible team there always found a way to pull her out of it. Everyone, from the Chef to the receptionist, to the Director, they all take an interest in mom, sometimes calling me to let me know when she needs a "pick-me-up." We couldn't be happier with our choice to have mom stay at Elderwood-Greece, where activities, field trips (non-Covid days) and everyday support fill her days! Ray Fradella

I cant say enough to Erica Rosa, Jill Bassett, Shauna Fitzgibbon Tanya Surowy and many other staff members . I've made beautiful friendships with them! My mother was a resident for about 6 months until it was necessary for her to transition to a nursing home. During that time the staff always went above and beyond helping and caring for mom with all her needs. The facility is wonderful and any staff I dealt with were always respectful and professional. I would absolutely recommend Elderwood Village at Greece.

The best assisted living community in Rochester! My Grandmother has lived here for over 5 years and I could not ask for better people taking care of her! Everyone is extremely friendly and they take care of the residents like they are their own family members. There is a nurse that manages all of her medications and we never have problems. Grandma has actually been able to decrease some of the medications because they got her back to a healthy state. We moved her in because My Grandfather had passed away and she was lonely at home and then had a stroke and needed help, I don't have much family up in Rochester so this was the perfect place for her! She has made so many friends, the activities are wonderful, the food Is great and it is always clean and bright! I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for assisted living for a friend or family member. The price is great they have option to add on services if they are needed. We love Brookdale West Side!
