Just did a walkthrough, and found it a beautiful, inviting place! We were looking on behalf of a sister-in-law, but I got excited about moving there myself! Friendly staff and wonderful amenities. Lots of activities available. Caters to many interests. Seems like there's always something happening. Resident I talked to loved living there, said all other residents are her friends.

Placed my mother in mental care earlier this year. I've regretted the decision 2 months later. You would think since they have a special wing for "mental care" that they would be prepared for all that comes with someone with dementia. Apparently they are prepared when it serves themselves or when it's easy. Getting calls after midnight to see if I'd take her to the hospital is ridiculous. That's exactly why she's in your care. Do yourself a favor and don't place your loved one in this place. For what they charge it's just a waist. No idea what they actually do with all the money rolling in there but it's apparent the customer comes second or even third on the priority list. Short staffing and some of them just being down right rude or having little to no care for their job tells me they don't make what they should and that administration is making way too much. With that said I have a new place lined up and will be moving her by the end of the month. Stop giving these clowns your money. And whoever from the landing reads this don't bother with that generic response you give on here for all the terrible reviews. It'll just fall on deaf ears.

The Landing is a wonderful place! My grandparents currently live here and the Landing offers many fun activities and services for them. Recently we just attended a pizza night with our family and it was a huge hit! Great food, company, and even live music.

This was such a hard decision. I went to 6 places. I chose the landing. My mom has had amazing care for the past year. . From caring people. It has not been easy. She is moving from her last few weeks at assisted living(they help keep her there as long as possible). Now she is transitioning to memory care. They help they care. It's not easy for families but the staff really tries. They go above and beyond. They offer activities and music. And social activities.

My father is a resident at the Landings. He started as a respite stay but has decided to extend because he enjoys the company of the staff and other residents. So many staff members go above and beyond to make him feel welcome and at home. Carolyn always brings him his favorite sweet treats and checks in on him regularly to make sure he is enjoying his time at the landings. Tiesha greets him every morning with a warm smile when he picks up his papers and helps me coordinate trips to the doctor. Cathy helps with his medication but so much more. She always takes the time to have a conversation and caring words. Maureen goes above and beyond keeping his room in order and always has a smile on her face. I ran into her in the hall the other day and she asked me about my day and said how much she enjoys working there. Omar is always ready to lend a helping hand when my dad is having an issue with his TV or something else that I am not around to help with. Kiki and Alexis aid him with dressing and bathing. They are always cheerful, patient and kind. There are so many others that make his time at the Landings exceptional it is too hard to call everyone out by name!

The staff is very hardworking and dedicated! My mom, who has advanced Alzheimer's, is well taken care of! Her physical and emotional needs are tended to. I am able to come and visit at any time which is usually several times per week. The residents are respected, engaged in many activities, and well fed with 3 meals a day plus snacks. Like any place, there is ALWAYS a shortage of help so the staff here work extra hours to cover shifts! Sometimes there are only 3 staff members to cover 30 residents. I believe if new employees were paid more than $14 per hour, which no one can support themselves on that pay, then they would attract more workers and would not have such a big turnover with staff. Tonya, Kim, Evalie, and IIdiko are among the dedicated staff that are there every day to make sure the residents are well taken care of. Communication between administration and staff needs to greatly improve. There is a systemic issue that needs to be addressed.

When my family made the decision to move my grandfather two and a half years ago into the Landing we were relieved. He seemed to get very good care. He received care we could not provide at home such as PT, assistance with doctor's appointments, meals with a menu, medication administration, and showering assistance. It was expensive, but worth it for my grandfather to have peers and safety. However, over the past two years there have been multiple administration changes and very low staffing. This issue predates COVID and has only gotten worse. It is more expensive and the food, activities, emergent responsiveness and cleanliness have all declined. We have encouraged our grandfather to have patience, that COVID has caused a worker shortage, but after another letter stating another change in administration, we will be looking for a different residence for my grandfather. We are all so sad and frustrated.

The landing of Poughkeepsie is awesome. My dad spent his last year and a half there and they treated him with dignity and respect. He was in the memory care unit and the staff was incredible. They always remembered his name and understood what he was going through. Jennifer and Wendy were so good with him and went out of there way to make sure he was feeling at home. Which is is what it was for him. His home. If I ever get to the point I need this kind of care the landing is where I would want to be. Im so Glad I chose them for my dads final place to call home. Lots of love to the staff. And Jennifer, thank you for the connection u had with my dad. And thank you to the landing for giving my dad a home in his final days.

Amazing retirement (assisted living) community. Lots of activites, caring staff, good food, excellent services and beautiful building too. Highly recommended for anyone shopping for that special place for mom or dad or both!
June 2019
The staff at The Landing are fantastic. My mom has been in their memory care unit for about 4 months now. The staff goes way beyond the basics: food, cleanliness, personal hygiene to offer really caring and hands on personal interaction. They make mom feel special; It makes all the difference.
June 2019
Both of my parents are residents in the memory care unit. I looked into a number of other facilities prior to selecting the Landing. I chose the Landing because it seemed to be the best fit for their needs and the facility was well maintained, the staff was very friendly and myself and my parents were treated with respect. Dementia is a challenging disease. Having both my parents at the same stage of the disease made it more of a challenge. The staff at the landing had not dealt with a husband and wife entering at the same time. They were extremely accommodating and adjust their practices to the challenges my parents present. If you are looking for a perfect place, you are going to be looking for a long time. The Landing is not perfect. But they do make every effort to address issues as they arise and are continually trying to improve on the level of care provided. I highly recommend the Landing to anyone looking for an assisted living community. Just tell them that Greg recommended you.

My mother moved into The Landing the last week of Sept. I am so happy for her. The Landing is absolutely fabulous in every way. Where to start...the entrance is fantastic, concierge service, happy faces, polite and no bad smells. In fact we commented on the smell because it did not smell of urine or cleaners, it just smelled nice. The restaurant was top notch, no assigned seating and open 24/7. I could go on and on, just check it out for yourself. Update11/1/17 Mom was taken out of the landing for various reasons. One being the staff wear gps devices and if they stay past allotted time we are charged. So in addition to regular payment we were given an additional bill in excess of 2,500.

It is my honor and pleasure working with all the staff at Atria Poughkeepsie that have helped impact the lives of our Veterans' Rowing Club members. Each week I work along side exceptional staff, including Karen, Emma and Tony while getting more than 15-active seniors rowing on WaterRower and getting them to lead a very healthy, active lifestyle. We look forward to breaking some rowing records in the near future!

Absolutely love the residents!! Learning from them and hearing all of their stories is a pleasure. 1 on 1 talks about the wars and how life was in their younger days, hearing about their family traditions, knowing what they did for a living, enjoying seeing their smiles when their families come to visit them and having the honor of being the one to take family pictures of them in our beautiful community. I enjoy working with staff who truly care for our residents and always going above and beyond. Always having fun with one another and the residents. We're a BIG family! ?
