My 97 year old mother just finished about a 5 week stay at Sands Point Rehab Center after hip surgery and a very difficult week in the hospital that left her overwhelmed by drugs and gasping to breathe. Within days at Sands Point we worked with the staff of doctors, nurses and aids and they corrected her drug reactions, the difficulty in breathing and later her inflammation problems. They monitored her oxygen, weight, bloodwork, etc., and week by week she was brought back from the brink of near death to being her old happy self again. Daily physical therapy by a caring group of therapists was also provided. Overseeing our family journey was a very attentive staff of administrators and our case manager Ava Rosan was not only a delight to work with but her diligence in quarterbacking our case was superlative. Any cons? The food - while ample & diverse generally lacked appeal. No rehab facility is going to be perfect, yet given the limitations of these facilities it's nice to know good people can effect good outcomes.

My mother has been in several rehab facilities over the years and Sands Point was the best by far. The facility is nice and the staff really cared about mom's health and well being. Our social worker Ava was knowledgeable, compassionate and proactive, making our experience with Sands Point a pleasure. I would highly recommend this facility.

It's a great place to be on your road to recovery! The nursing team is friendly, professional and treat you with care. The rehab team work hard to motivate and strengthen you. The social work team are very helpful and supportive.

The facility has cared for my grandmother for 10 years. The new management has been a pleasure to deal with. They made some important changes to ensure that all of the residents obtain the proper care and attention. It is clean and does not have an odor. The medical staff is highly qualified and they keep the residents bathed, well nurished. They are attentive to the safety and health of all of the residents.

Following spinal surgery, my experience with Sands Point Center for Health and Rehabilitation has been an excellent journey in repairing my body. The care that the complete staff gave to me was superb. All along I knew the exercises in PT and OT were there for one goal only to get my body back to be ready to go home. All the staff were professional, kind and caring and I noticed they are a cohesive team. I could see that week after week my body was responding to their instruction. Each person stands out for various reasons. If I had to highlight someone it would be Nurse Verni whose smile and good humor brightened every day. I will recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for an excellent rehabilitation place.

You walk in the front doors and everyone is super helpful and welcoming. Top to bottom these department heads are top notch, making this experience easy seamless. Would definitely recommend for your loved one.

went to go see my aunt today had a nasty bullish nurse. She didn't seem she wanted to help my aunt with severe abdominal pain. She was being rude, bullish and nasty in her tone of voice! I didn't react to her behavior but I wasn't happy with it. Nubia and the supervisor Doris were very nice and pleasant. They took the time to come and help my aunt.

There are a lot of great people that work here. Sometimes the part-time staff is not responsive to the patient's needs. And that can lead to very severe problems for the patients. However the regular staff for the most part is awesome. They really tried to keep my mom happy with her pain management while she was here. I would say that they really took care of her and made her last days the best they could be before the cancer finally took her. Thank all of you that work here for what you do.
