Very clean and nice…great activities coordinated. Food …not the best but manageable. Also, please advise taxis and such that Assisted Living pick up is NOT at 1613 main, but is the first right off Heritage…consider a directional sign. I originally went to the wrong entrance because that is where Google Maps takes you to, and so did my cab (A&D) today. Cab did not show up so I hiked around to that main entrance marked with the "1613" and FORTUNATELY flagged cab down as he was leaving …whew- made my bus!!

I find as a relative of a current resident in the independent living area that the services are consistently sub par considering the substantial amount of money that the residents pay to be there. Food and services are of course effected by staffing shortages; as with many places. But the facility should be able to pay a reasonable wage to correct this. I can't help but think that this is adversely effected by the goals of the corporate office in Texas, or wherever it is. Are there also shareholder concerns? I doubt the company would be involved unless there was significant profit.

The staff is great at Heritage of the plains. I think they really do care about the residents, which I love & appreciate. I do get a little concerned about turnover, however.

My mom's apartment was lovely. Employees friendly and helpful. Dining room another story. Food came to table ice cold and congealed. Mom states the food is often almost inedible. It looked like reheated leftovers. Pasta was chewy. Inexcusable for what your tenants pay. This was the Mothers Day Special Dinner.

I just rented an apartment for by 78 year old brother in law at The Plains and I have to say the experience was truly exceptional. The sales director was extremely helpful in answering all my questions, tracking the process for me and following up after ever discussion. She was really great when she met by brother and spent time with him going over everything. The place is really beautiful inside and out. The grounds are well manicured and there are lots of residents enjoying them throughout the day. I am really thrilled i was able to get him into the The Plains. It was a big step up from the other assisted living locations nearby.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I did learn some new coping skills that have pushed me to help me move forward rather than backwards or stagnant. I did fulfill my weekly goal and I am so happy that I did!

Very pleasant property with town homes, independent and assisted living apartments as well as a memory care facility on the property. Pleasant views of the surrounding hills and adjoining forest. Very competent management. Clean and well maintained. The residents I spoke to, most of them long term residents, are very happy with their arrangements.
October 2022
Clients need a much better diet with less prepared instant meals. It seems like the ordering process is askew and staples such as eggs, English muffins and cheerios are often not available. Are you kidding me running out of cheerios? Kitchen is a mess and cannot serve meals without the assistance of regular aids. Serious issues for our elderly.

A year ago we moved my mom and brother to the Plains to live in the Independent Living section. They were received with open arms immediately and made friends quickly. I say that because my brother is intellectually disabled from birth and although very functional, needs much grace and the community embraced him and even encouraged my mom.Toward the end of 2020, it was evident, mom needed more individualized care. With ease, she was able to transition to Assisted living and my brother came to live with us. Again, the staff and residents stepped up to make this transition as stress free as possible. Whenever I need my concerns addressed, I felt heard, understood, and answered in the way that helped me as the concerned responsible caretaker. If a community family is a part of your values when looking for a new home for yourself or your loved one, I would recommend you take the time to tour and check out this high ranked place. Although no place will be perfect, it is evident that the director and staff work hard to do their very best to make this feel like home to the residence. The residents, as well, are intricate parts of the whole community living atmosphere and they do a fine job emulating acceptance and care.As a final note, COVID brought many changes everywhere. Because of the way this facility handled the challenge, the community experienced a safe environment. As well as reduced regulations when possible. I love the fact I can still visit my mom within the bounds of their required guidelines. This makes even the challenges of the times, perhaps a little more bearable.Thank you Trudy, Jesse, Mary and all the staff. Your passion for the senior community shines brightJohn and Robin Grenier

My mom has been at Heritage for two years, first in Independent Living and now in Assisted. Over the last year, COVID has made life for all difficult, but more so for facilities like Heritage.Executive Director Trudy Cloudy and her staff have been working tirelessly to protect our parents health and they are doing a great job. It is complicated and there are unknowns and new rules. These things have made it harder for residents to relax and enjoy their surroundings, but Heritage has done all they can to make it livable.COVID vaccines are being administered and hopefully the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight. Already, the dining hall is re-opened, as are more activities. Someday we will be able to visit without restrictions, and life will be back to normal.Through it all, Heritage showed care and concern. That is what counts most.

I interned alongside the activities director, Deborah Ziegler while in college and my experience at the The Plains was amazing! Deborah and the rest of the staff care so much about the residents and providing them with fun activities, experiences and increasing the overall well-being of the residents. I loved my time at The Plains!
January 2021
My mother-in-law has been there for 9 years, first in Independent living, now in Assisted Living. Both have been very positive experiences. She gets wonderful care, nutritious meals, and they have a wonderful, caring staff. Her medications are properly taken care of and administered, and if she needs a doctor, it is immediately arranged. No one who lives there has had covid, and that is huge for us. We feel very she is very safe and happy there.

I have worked at Heritage at The Plains at Parish Homestead for 5 years starting as a Activities Coordinator and presently the Community Life Director. I witness every day a hardworking staff willing to help out where needed. An amazing Executive Director, Trudy Claudy, who has an open door policy, supportive, knowledgeable, and fair. Residents who are doing their best to meet the challenges during this uncharted territory we are navigating. We are all in this together; staff, residents, families. We are human and we all make mistakes, but make no mistake about it, this is a caring community and I am fortunate to be a part of it.

My mother-in-law moved in a couple years ago at 89 years old after deciding it was time to sell her house and live in community. She is quite independent even now after celebrating her 91st birthday this month, and truly enjoys all the activities that the Plains offers! Daily exercise, meditation, coffee hour, happy hour, bingo, movie day, etc.In fact she cant understand why more of the residents dont take it vantage of everything LOL!She was 20 minutes away from family and now shes within minutes of everyone! The staff are very kind and very helpful! This has been an all-around perfect match for everyone!!

Excellent facility with a responsive and caring team. My friend moved first to independent living 2 years ago and then in the last year to the assisted living wing. The management team and the direct caregivers have been so very helpful and kind. The facility is well maintained. I highly recommend The Plains.

Thank you for all the thoughtful procedures observed over the past few months. I am very comfortable with the restrictions. Even though the restrictions have eased a bit, I am still not ready myself to be around others. When one hears about so many deaths in nursing homes, it is wonderful to know that in communal living at the Plains, you have taken appropriate action to keep all your residents safe - serving meals in individual apartments, checking necessary visitors temperatures and masks at the door, only allowing entrance at the main door, etc. Thank you!
