Anyone who says that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth hasn't been to My Second Home! The environment is so homey (comfy sofas, framed photos, lovely art on the walls, a piano, a kitchen) and the staff so patient and creative that visiting always feels uplifting and positive. It's comforting to know that it actually IS possible for seniors to stay connected to their families and to age with grace and dignity! But what REALLY makes My Second Home incredibly special is watching the joint activities between the seniors and the preschoolers from the day care center located in the opposite wing of the same building. When "grandparents" and "grandchildren" get together for reading or music or art projects, it's truly magical to behold. I hope and pray that my loved ones or I never suffer from dementia but if we do, I feel grateful that a gem like My Second Home exists as a beacon of caring and hope in Westchester.
