My mom was at Brookdale for 3 months until she had a stroke and needed rehab. The place was wonderful. The staff is all attentive to their needs, there's always something going on to keep the residents busy. This is my first experience with a nursing home setting and I would recommend it to anyone.

My mom was going to go but decided not to. They're billing me every month for someone who never entered that facility. So wrong on so many levels. Obviously incompetent people running the facility. They don't know she's not there? That tells me they don't keep an eye on their residents. And Brookdale Ithaca is very small

We placed my stepdad at Ithaca Brookdale Crossings last fall after having a less then optimal experience with another assisted living facility. If I could give the Crossings staff more than 5 stars, I would. Everyone knows my stepdad and his little quirks and just how to take care of him and other residents in a very loving and respectful manner. As family, I always feel taken care of too, and my requests to take him out for ice cream in the late afternoon or watch a movie in the evening are not a bother, but a joy to his life. I'm glad we found Crossings and would highly recommend it for someone who was searching for high quality dementia care in Ithaca NY.

Mom was at Brookdale for 4 years in both assisted and memory care. The care was fine if I visited, called and emailed constantly. Then she got an infection and was sent to the hospital. They wanted her to rehab. She did for 3 weeks. They kept telling me she would return to Brookdale and that her doctor would make the decision. They held a secret meeting with the rehab place without telling me. The doctor called me to say that they had no input in making the decision about mom returning to Brookdale. They called during this meeting and asked why I wasn't there. Mom was not allowed to return. I spent 4 weeks (hospital and rehab time) thinking she would go back to Brookdale when I could have been looking for another place during that time. Then they charged me for 6 days for the next month, even though they told me I could keep her stuff in her room until a decision was made. Their own corporate disagreed and deleted the charges. I have heard nothing from them since mom left. They have no idea where or how she is. BTW - some of the things claimed below on amenities and services I never saw or heard about in 4 years. Some staff is lovely but others are nightmares.

Moving my mother into assisted living was a very difficult decision to make. All of the staff at Brookdale takes time to get to know the residents and the staff is extremely dedicated to making the residents feel cared for. All the staff recognize me when I call and every staff member is aware of the status of any resident at any given time. I have been extremely satisfied that my mother is well cared for.

My aunt has been staying there for several years. The staff seems very friendly, and the facility is very neat and clean ( I have seen other facilitates that fall far short ) . My aunt is very happy there.
