The Bristal is wonderful. It’s nice to know that my mom is cared for and has social interactions every day. We initially worked with Tiffany, who was so caring and attentive. Thank you to Tiffany, Jennifer, Maddy, Marcel and the rest of the Bristal staff.

My father had advanced PSP and Alzheimer’s. His hospice nurse recommended bed rails due to fall risk. The facility refused to allow them. Shortly after, my father suffered a fall that contributed to his passing. Separately, I filed complaints with the New York State Department of Health regarding care issues. The investigation substantiated my complaint and resulted in findings related to quality of care, including issues with responsiveness, timeliness of assistance, and overall resident care. After his death, the facility pursued $8,000 in prorated rent for his final month. I understand the progression of my father’s condition, but refusing a basic safety measure recommended by hospice, combined with state-validated care deficiencies and aggressive billing after his death, is unacceptable. Families should be aware of how situations like this are handled.

My 96 yr old Mom had a fall over the Christmas holidays that left her with a broken femur and the need for a walker. She was at a rehab but needed to transition to assisted living ,and did so very reluctantly. Tiffany and the team went above and beyond to resolve any transition issues promptly. She definitely did not want to be anywhere but home. She is coming to the end of her short term stay, and has nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and the facility. If she did not have a home to return to ,there is no doubt she would choose the Bristal in GC. I must also note that she says the food is excellent and believe me..that is a 5 star rave ! In addition, she mentions how wonderful the housekeeping team is. Always cheerful and welcoming.

The Bristal Assisted Living in Garden City has been such a relief for our family . The staff has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring with my aunt, which made a big difference during her move. Everyone we’ve interacted with has been warm and welcoming, taking the time to answer questions and check in on how my aunt is settling in ’. Special shout out to Tiffany, Rachel, Jennifer, for coordinating everything for my aunt, even prior to the actual move in date. Another shout out to Suzanna, Glen, Taiquan, and Naz for going above and beyond to help my aunt feel comfortable and cared for ©. The food is amazing, and my aunt actually looks forward to mealtimes now, which says a lot about the quality and variety of what they serve . Between the good meals and the friendly dining atmosphere, it really feels more like a community than a facility . The building is clean, bright, and inviting, with plenty of spaces for residents to relax or chat with others . There are lots of activities and things to do, so my aunt can stay engaged and social instead of feeling isolated . Our family feels a real sense of peace knowing she’s in a safe place with people who are looking out for her ™. Overall, The Bristal in Garden City has been a great choice for my aunt, and we’re very grateful for how helpful and kind everyone has been ’.

When my sister-in-law needed help in July and I was looking for an assisted living facility that would admit her within our admittedly limited time frame and accept her cat, The Bristal at Garden City bent over backwards to help us. Everyone went out of their way to make this happen for us and I couldn’t be more grateful. Recently she had a hospital and rehab stay and when it was time to return to the Bristal that same commitment to a caring community was front and center. You can’t have a better recommendation than an Alzheimer’s patient who couldn’t remember that she lived there before but could remember the people who cared for her and was so happy to see them again, then you know they really make a difference in the lives Of their residents.

The Bristol at Garden City was an incredible experience for my dad when he came to stay with me in NY. Tiffany and Rachel made the whole process smooth and easy, the staff was friendly and kind, the grounds are fantastic and offer a variety of events and activities that my dad really enjoyed. I have recently visited the Bristal to see my friends grandmother. It was way above what I was expecting. My friends grandmother is so happy there. I was thrilled to see that. My friend and her family tells me they love it there for the grandmother. Upon entering the staff was very pleasant and helpful. So I can see my friends grandmother is around wonderful people. If I had to recommend this place to one of my family members I definitely would.

Our Aunt is in the memory care unit at Garden City. We are extremely happy about the attention she receives from the entire staff. Communication has been very good since she arrived in May. They ask detailed questions about the individual to try and make them comfortable. Memory needs are a challenging group and the staff do an excellent job directing this group. I can see how kind they treat everyone. Also, passing through to the Assisted Living side, I had the pleasure of attending a concert one afternoon. The staff were cheerful and helped to make the event a success for all. I can see that outside events are planned, if the residents want to attend. The food prepared looks delicious. If I have any concerns, Wellness has been quick to provide assistance. We are very happy with our choice to use the Bristal Garden City.

I am a resident here at this community for 6 months now and like everyone else I was a little skeptical as to what to expect. My concerns were how I would fit into the community since I’m a younger person and coming from being solely independent how I would adjust. So far I have been SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. The transition to this type of lifestyle was easier than what I expected and the staff was very accommodating. I love what I’m able to do during the day like movies, rummikub, social hours, live entertainment and special events. My family is able to visit whenever and they love that they have peace of mind knowing that I’m living so comfortably!

There aren’t enough words to describe how happy we are with The Bristal @ Garden City! Our family was concerned that our mother would have a difficult time adjusting to this new environment. She lived alone and primarily spent her days watching TV but now she participates in activities, watches movies, plays bingo and most importantly, she is meeting new people that she enjoys spending time with. The staff went above and beyond to make sure her transition was comfortable and easy and they continue to be warm, welcoming and caring. Our mother loves her newfound independence. She recently said I feel like I’m back in life again. What more could we ask for? We are so grateful she is in such great hands!!

My mom (at 93) moved into The Bristal on 2/1/23. Before that, she was quiet and lonely. Our experience at The Bristal has not only given mom a new lease on life but her children as well. At her age, her husband and forever friends are gone. Mom has made new friends and socializes like never before. The staff is so compassionate and tentative to her, she loves the attention. They truly care. You can see they take pride in their jobs and are happy to be there! Beautiful smiles are everywhere! Mom laughs and enjoys herself more than we could every imagine. I toured this week and was pretty impressed with the community. They had a live singer performing, we stayed for an early dinner and had a great filet mignon! The community was gorgeous and we would love for my uncle to be closer but unfortunately he’s moving out of State. Thank you Bristal!

Mom was sad and lonely at home and could no longer cook for herself without burning food on the stove as well as in the microwave. She could not remember basic things, she would say I don’t know what deodorant looks like’. She would place dirty clothes in the dryer; she would forget how to operate the machines. Once in the Bristal Garden City she blossomed! She loves the activities, especially looks forward to the exercise classes. The staff is excellent, she loves the meals. She has friends now. The bus rides are wonderful, and she is looking forward to swimming in their outdoor pool once the summer comes. Mom’s energy is amazing now. I can’t thank the Bristal enough!

The Bristal is fantastic From the moment we first met with them to moving my mother in and getting her settled, the staff is as first rate as the surroundings. Everyone wants to make sure you're comfortable and getting involved in the myriad activities. The medical management ensures that my mother gets her medications as scheduled, and the pull cords in the bathroom and the bedroom means we don't have to worry - bc if my mother needs assistance, she pulls on one those cords- or on the pendant they all wear - and someone is alerted and sent to assist her right away. We could not ask for a better place. It's peace of mind for all of us and you cannot put a price on that.
