My husband John moved into The Artis after being in a hospital for a month with covid and having Lewy Body Dementia in November of 2022. The staff made the transition so easy for us. They are friendly, welcoming and understanding. John is so happy and so much stronger now. He is always showered, dressed and ready for activities everyday. His hair is cut every 2 weeks and he gets a clean shave a few times a week. I visit often and and the staff knows every residence and most family members and welcome all of us to join in activities and really encourage us to enjoy the time with our loved ones. The Artis is clean, and has a warm feeling. Its built like a home and not a facility. The nurses and aids show so much care towards each individual resident. they take an interest in what each person likes and dislikes The chef is friendly , and the meals are well thought out for each resident's needs. Its hard to place a loved ones with Dementia somewhere. My family and i are so grateful for finding the Artis for John and helping us make the best life possible for us and him as we continue this journey

Choosing to move our Dad into an assisted living residence wasn't an easy decision to make. How on earth could he be as happy living in a new and different place with new and different people as he was in his home surrounded by his family? I can say with 100% faith and a very grateful and full heart, that he has transitioned and thrived at the Artis since the day he moved in over 18 months ago. The staff are outstanding, and he is truly in a beautiful, warm, fun, stimulating, and loving new home. Our family sees and knows that he is cared for above and beyond measure. The entire staff knows him, knows us, responds to his and our needs effectively and efficiently - and we are always greeted with smiles and hugs. Moving our Dad to the Artis in Commack was the best decision, and our family is so thankful for each and everyone of the staff and their expertise and kindness. It is truly a wonderful place.

I have been in the elder care business for 20 years, and during that time, I have had the opportunity to check out many Assisted Living facilities here on Long Island. I must say that my experience with the Artis in Commack has been something special. The facility is clean and new, and the layout and amenities offer so much to the residents. Most importantly, the staff and management of the Artis go the extra mile to make sure all the needs are being met. Customer service is a dying art in todays world, but the Artis continues to show caring, compassion and professionalism to its residents, family members, and those who work with them. My highest recommendation.

The staff are amazing from reception to the janitorial staff to the chef. The director and her daughters are empathetic and kind. They are doing a wonderful job with my mother-in-law.

Cannot say enough good things about Artis!! From the moment you walk in you truly feel like you are at home. Everyone is so welcoming and the community is beautiful!! The attention to detail is top notch; each neighborhood was thoughtfully planned out. Joanne, Jackie and Kelly are one of a kind; you can’t ask for better!!
