A place that truly changed my mother’s quality of life If you’re searching for care for an aging parent, I want to share our experience, because it made all the difference for my mom in her final years. Before Tennyson Court, my mother was at another facility in Williamsville, where she had become increasingly confused and unsteady; falling often, and in one fall, losing her front teeth. I spent months asking staff there to review her medications with me, certain something in those meds was contributing to it. I was repeatedly told she was no more loopy than anyone else and they would not do a medication review. On my mother’s very first day at Tennyson Court, the nurse practitioner called me. She had already begun reviewing my mom’s medications without being asked and found one, in particular, that is known to cause falls in seniors. She was visibly concerned by it and asked permission to take my mother off it immediately. She then went through the rest of the medications and made several more adjustments. The difference was remarkable. My mother became clearer, steadier, and more herself. If you are struggling to find a facility that really cares and is invested in your loved ones care, I cannot recommend Tennyson Court enough. Beyond the medical care, the staff at Tennyson showed my mother genuine warmth. One caretaker was visibly moved when he learned she had passed. Another told me she had danced with my mom in the hallway the night before she died. These are the kinds of small, human moments that tell you someone is truly being cared for, not just looked after. My mother passed peacefully, and I know without question that her final years were better fuller, safer, and gentler because of the team at Tennyson Court. If you’re navigating this difficult search for a parent, I hope this helps, and I hope you find a place that cares for your loved one the way Tennyson cared for mine.

Tennyson Court was an absolute blessing to my family! We will be forever grateful for the care our uncle received and the attentive caring staff that was there for him during his time of need. We were so fortunate to secure a room at Tennyson Court when my mom needed to go into Assisted Living and then Memory Care. The staff there was always helpful, pleasant and informative. The facility itself is beautiful and well maintained. I can't think of anything that I would change! My mom was indeed fortunate to spend her last few months surrounded by aides that were knowledgeable and I felt who really looked after my mom's best interests and needed care. With all mom's children, out of state, we all had peace of mind that our mom was in "great hands". Thank you, Tennyson Court!

I speak for my entire family when I say how thankful we are for the wonderful care my father receives at Tennyson. The staff is always smiling and so friendly not only to my dad but to our entire family when we are in the facility ( and we’re there a lot lol). Dad has been there for a little over a year and will be celebrating his 101st birthday next month. He is very independent but also needs help with his day to day. They truly care for him as if he were their own father or grandfather. I hope you all know how much we truly appreciate the entire Tennyson Staff for all you do and how hard you work. It was a very difficult decision and i am VERY happy we chose Tennyson.

I've been pleasantly satisfied my wife is at a safe, caring environment. The staff is diverse and knowledgeable of the units mission. Integration is a key to their success. The facility is clean and up to date. So far, it's an excellent choice.

Our mom is a resident in memory care at Tennyson Court. She is so well taken care of. The staff really care about the residents. The activities are enjoyable and stimulate my mom’s mind. It’s a great community. We are thankful Tennyson had availability when my mom needed the 24/7 care.

Our father was fortunate to live here from 2021 through August 2024 until he required a higher level skilled nursing care. For Assisted living and Memory care I do not believe there is a better choice in Western NY than Tennyson. The staff are compassionate, kind, skilled, and always right on top of the residents needs. All of the care, meals, activities, & events to involve families, are done with your loved ones quality of life and enrichment as the priority. The facility is spotless clean and in approximately 3 years I’ve never seen a staff member on their phone or sitting unless they were involved in their work or an activity with a resident. That speaks volumes!!!!

My Mom loves living at Tennyson Court! She is always well taken care of and me and my brothers (who all live out of state) never feel like we are worrying about whether or not she is in good hands, because we see so ourselves every time we go to visit her! The staff are amazing and always have plenty of stories about our mom for us whenever we are in town. The nice thing too is they are always available whenever we have questions or concerns. Thank you Tennyson Court for all that you do!

My mother lived at Tennyson Court Assisted Living for over 3 years until her recent passing. The facility is charming and with the loving care, community and amazing staff (nurses, aides and administrators) my mom to felt safe and cared for with me living 3000 miles away. The team at Tennyson was always available to answer any questions and very responsive in times of need. I highly recommend Tennyson Court to any family needing extra help from an assisted living community!

My dad has lived at Tennyson for one year as of today. I know this because the administration invites family in regularly and provides updates. Communication with family is a key element to their care. My Dad has been to multiple nursing homes and rehab centers over the years with his health challenges. Tennyson is the best location he ever been by a long shot. He says so and our family thinks so. The staff could not be nicer and goes out of their way keep everyone involved. The place is beautiful with courtyards and the inside is spotless. When you walk down the hall, residents pass by and say hello. It is clear that this is a place that nurtures happiness to residents and their families. They have their own wheelchair equipped "limo-bus" to take residents to appointments whenever needed and my dad reports the food is great too. When he first arrived a year ago after a surgery he had a wheelchair and could barely get out of bed. Today (one year later) he has friends and is walking the halls (with a walker) and socializing. He is enthusiastic about his own progress and the staff (and me) are so happy. This place is a gift to him after such a hard battle with illness.

My grandmother has lived at this community for over 4 years. The facility is beautiful and very well kept. However, this appearance isn't what sets this place apart. The care that's been provided over the years has been incredible. Every time I visit Nana their is a big smile on her face, the staff know her by name, and she raves about how much fun she has.

My Aunt and Uncle moved in the week before COVID shut everything down last year. The move was not something that was necessarily pre-planned on their part. The staff was AMAZING and made the transition for them much easier! They listen to your needs and concerns and truly LOVE their residents as though they are part of their own family. They made COVID family visiting as best as could be possible with all the regulations and did their best to make sure the residents weren't too isolated. Can't say enough about how happy we are and have been about my Aunt/Uncle's move into Tennyson!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tennyson Court. After several bad experiences with "five star" rated assisted living facilities, we have finally found someplace that treats my father with the care and respect he deserves. He has been there for several months, and we have absolutely no complaints. The staff is superb - he, and his room, are always clean, fed, etc. Any questions we have had or requests regarding the care of my father have been addressed instantly. They treat him with dignity and respect and, when he is being difficult, they know him and are able to cajole him into what he needs to do. If we cannot make it there everyday,, we do not worry that he is being taken care of. They have so many activities and had a beautiful acknowledgement luncheon for veterans on Veteran's Day at Russells. I attended a Christmas party for my dad's wing last night with him and it was off the charts - absolutely fantastic. If anyone is in the process of trying to find a place for mom or dad, I know how difficult it can be, and I recommend you stop in at Tennyson - totally recommend them without any reservation.

My mother entered memory care recently. The transition from our home to Tennyson Court was not stressful because of the guidance from Susan and her staff. My friend's mom, who recently passed, lived most of her final days at Tennyson until she had to go into skilled nursing. Whenever I visited, I saw caring and compassion from all the staff who interacted with her. My friend's family was happy with her care. As with every elder who undergoes a major change in living, there was an adjustment, but her room was pretty and bright, and she had a view of a courtyard area. It was very homey and clean. I saw the food, which was sometimes delivered to entice her to eat, and I have to say it looked and smelled great! Staff was friendly and efficient, so from what I could see this is a great place.
