We have a term, Heimish that means "like home," and Ateret Avot, where my loved one is staying is just like home. It's quite a small place, but it definitely provides a different kind of experience than many other communities do. It is a community with the sort of comfortable atmosphere that allows the residents and their families to feel like they belong there. It's a busy place, with the people always in action. Everyone is very, very nice here, and very open. It's just like a family, and is indeed very Heimish.

Our advisor with A Place for Mom was very helpful in finding a community for my dad. He seems to be more engaged socially at Ateret Avot. I am not local but I have spoken with quite a few people there and they seem to be very helpful. Allen in particular seems to be a genuinely caring individual. I get the sense that it's more than a job to him.He is always cheerful and accessible. My family that has visited my father says the staff is very friendly.
