I have a cousin who has been a resident of independent living for almost 2 years. She is in her mid 80s and moved from a house and felt it was time to enter into a senior community. From the first time and our meeting with Jan Unger/Sales Director, everything went very well. I must admit he was very personable and knowledgeable. He gave us the tour, answered our questions and did not pressure us for a commitment. After we digested the area and the amenities she decided this would be her new home. Even to this day Jan has been very helpful and makes everyone feel good.

Atria is the absolute best. I couldn't ask for a more nurturing and caring set of staff. Everyone who comes here, stays here and loves it here.

I live at The Atria Woodlands Assisted Living Facility in Ardsley NY and have been here several years. I can't say enough good things about it. I did an extensive search, with my family, of the places like this in the Westchester area, and am happy with the decision. I am younger than most people here, in my mid – 60s, with needs of my own. Older people are well taken care of, but as for me, I really like to MOVE. I'm delighted to enjoy exercise like Boxing, WII Bowling, and some balance bars that feel like I'm dancing. I thank God every day for a place like this and hope that other people will be happy in their own search for a new home.

Atria Woodlands has been very helpful to us during an emotional period. My mother moved here two months ago and had a difficult transition. The Atria staff have all been friendly, patient and supportive as she acclimates to her new home. Jan Unger, the Sales Director, cares about each new resident and continues to check in to ensure my mother has what she needs. The residence and grounds are clean and well maintained and the meals and desserts are quite tasty which is a happy plus!

When I started my search for the "perfect" community my mom would feel at home in, I honestly didn't know where to start or even what questions to ask. As with most big family/life changes, the layers of emotions made decision making feel hard and I ended up picking the absolute wrong place for my mom to move into at first. I got swept up in superficial things - and after only a month, it became very clear my mom needed to move again. But things happen for a reason, it was with that first experience, we were now armed with knowing what to look for and what to ask. That's where Atria Woodlands comes in …beginning with Jan Unger, the sales manager there is wonderful. Jan took the time, several times in fact to answer questions and provide so much knowledgable and thoughtful insight into the community. He truly goes out of his way and helped my mom have a smooth move in. During the settling in period, we got to meet the rest of staff and discovered that the entire team is outstanding. Everyone has been warm and welcoming, from the front desk to the friendly servers (serving delicious food btw), to the great housekeeping team- everyone … has been great and has made my mom (and her little dog) feel at home. We are so happy to be part of the Atria Woodlands community.

I can't say enough about Debbie and the rest of the amazing staff at Atria Woodland's memory care residence. My brother is happy, safe, involved and comfortable since his arrival earlier this spring. It means a lot to his family.

Two months ago, I moved our father with dementia to Atria Woodlands -Life Guidance (memory care). Debbie Maraj-Somar gave me a reassuring hug and said, "He's going to be fine." He's been better than fine! He is smiling, interacting with others and is healthier. I credit Debbie and her staff for creating a caring and calm environment, with teamwork and quick response time for resident needs. Debbie's professional attitude embraces energy, joy, and respect for the residents. I am grateful and can recommend Atria.

Mom has only been here for a week but Jan is great and goes well beyond the scope of his position. Very helpful in settling mom in. Mom seems very happy and that's all we can ask for.
March 2024
The Atria at Woodlands was a wonderful chapter in my mother's life. Moving up from S.C., my mom was naturally nervous about this new change, however our first meeting with Jan put her mind at ease and fortified our decision to rent in the Independent Living housing. The Atria at Woodlands is truly a wonderful community. The properties are always well-manicured, and the buildings and dining rooms are clean and accommodating. The most important aspect of the Atria at Woodlands to my family is how great the staff is with our loved ones living there. The staff has always been courteous, helpful, and understanding and would often go out of their way to help. Another big thanks to Jan Unger for always being available to my mother from our first day to even this morning… Great job Atria!! E Olson (resident's son)

My mother moved into Atria Woodlands two months ago and the staff have been so helpful and kind, supporting her through what is/was an understandably difficult transition (my dad passed away just eight months earlier). My sisters and I are especially appreciative of Jan Unger and Maria at the front desk, who have been so great -- very positive, friendly, patient, and solution-oriented. My mom says the other residents are very friendly and welcoming; she appreciates how nice and down-to-earth everyone she met is.
February 2024
My dad was at the Woodlands Atria for about 1 1/2 years in the memory care facility. Debbie is in charge, she is wonderful. Everyone was very caring and attentive. My dad was very happy with the food and care that he received. No place is perfect for a situation which is very difficult, but I knew my dad was happy and well cared for

The life guidance at The Atria in Ardsley where my mother resides impresses with its dedicated and compassionate caregivers, whose professionalism shines through their kindness and patience. Their genuine concern for the residents creates a warm and supportive atmosphere that fosters a sense of security and well-being. Additionally, the facility's cleanliness is impeccable, reflecting a commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment conducive to the health and comfort of its occupants. Overall, the combination of attentive caregivers and pristine surroundings ensures that my mother receives the quality care and respect she deserves.
November 2023
HORRIBLE PLACE! The woman assigned to us was Kelly and when I tell you she had the WORST ATTITUDE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED FROM A PROFESSIONAL CAREGIVER! Absolutely no bed side manner, irritable whenever you asked her to change something, was saying things under her breath as if I couldn't hear them. Genuinely wanted to report her to corporate, still may. The only reason I gave it a star was because the activities director was so sweet and attentive. Other than that, I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
November 2023
The staff at Atria Woodlands has gone above and beyond to ensure that exceptional care, courtesy and attention was given to my family member. I would recommend Atria Woodlands to anyone looking for an assisted living or independent living community in the Westchester area.
October 2023
The Woodlands Staff truly is compassionate at every level. The Independent Living Community presents like a resort with Daily Activities that are on par with a Cruise Ship. The apartments are well planned out , complemented by a very safe Senior Friendly bathroom design. The Restaurant Staff loves what they do and it shows, the Chefs are terrific. Special shout out to Jan who was our Sales Liaison. He did not hand us off after the Sale but has stay involved and supported our Mom with her successful transition into the Community…Keep up the good work!!!
September 2023
From initial contact through the entire move in process the staff and accommodations here are fantastic. Mom has settled in quickly and she absolutely loves it! What more can one possibly say? Visit the grounds and don't hesitate to ask the residents as well! We are thrilled to see Mom blossom as we always knew her. Thank you Rob and the entire team.

July 2023
Nelson & Lisa Zayas 23 N Main St. Pine Plains, NY 12567 To Whom It May Concern, I wanted to take this moment to express my deepest appreciation to Jan Unger and the staff of Atria Woodlands. Our family has been looking for a place for my in-laws Iris Silva and Sergio Vasquez for about a month. This journey has led us to some very depressing scenarios which included separating them. It had become a very daunting task as their issues and needs were quite diverse. My mother-in-law, Iris, wanted to retain her independent status and enjoy her life cooking and entertaining. My father-in-law, Sergio, on the other hand was experiencing the onset of dementia and was unable to care for himself. This was a situation that I was sure could not be unique to our family, however, in the places we were looking prior to our visit there seemed to be no easy answer. We were very pleasantly surprised when Jan greeted us with a warmth and understanding that we had not seen in other facilities. He listened, he was attentive and generous with his time while we asked all our questions. I felt that he understood, and we felt comfortable. We were able to see three rooms and when we saw the last one, we knew we had found the best one for them. Room 1333 with its beautiful view and a patio included a gate leading to the gazebo was just what we needed for Sergio. A place for him to sit and watch the birds under the careful eye of his devoted wife. This was an answer to our prayers and Jan was again helpful in explaining what needed to be done next. At no time did I feel pressured or confused or worried about our decision. Instead, we put a deposit down immediately and I felt tears of joy knowing we had finally found a new home. A home that we want to visit them at. A home that we are looking to spend Thanksgiving at. A home. Thank you
May 2023
Our mother was Atria for 5 years and sadly passed away very recently. The care and support throughout her time there was excellent. Our family would like to to thank the entire staff — particularly Matthew, Maria, Debra, Beylka, Mike and George, along with so many others - for being wonderful partners in our mother's journey. Atria is beautiful and caring community that is committed to proving an outstanding experience to its residents. With new management in place, this already great community is becoming even better, thanks to innovative new programs and visible improvements everywhere.

There is a New Sheriff in town at the Atria Woodlands, his name is Rob Tennant, and he is the New Executive Director. My Mother has been a resident for a number of years at the Atria. Over those years, we have seen changes, good and bad. Rob has only been there for about 2 months and positive changes have already taken place. Rob has the knowledge, insight and desire to make The Atria the Best it can be. He has a Wonderful staff that is willing to succeed in his mission. Rob is hands on with everything that is going on, day to day. He brings excitement for what he can do now and in the future. I appreciate his desire for the community and I am looking forward in seeing, all the good that he will do in continuing to make the Atria a Great place to live.
April 2023
Atria Woodlands is beautiful and welcoming. They have made my mom’s transition into senior living seamless. Jan in particular went above and beyond to help me move my mom and help her feel comfortable. We look forward to many years of happiness ahead for my mom living at Atria!
April 2023
The staff and residents are wonderful. I visited many locations for my client/friend and the Atria at Woodlands provided the most comfort and support for aging in place. It’s walkable to town for those wanting to have a destination for dining, banking, pharmacy and medical services. The facility is affordable and located in a beautiful section of Ardsley. You never feel alone ! A perfect place to live!

The staff is excellent and truly care about the residents
March 2023
I believe that family is the most important thing in life. Therefore we should take a good care of them. However, is not always easy to do that. This is why Atria Woodlands is a great option for my family. I was so impressed with my visit to this Community. The staff and residents appeared so happy. There was this vibrant feeling as I visited. I found it to be the best place for my loved one. The professionalism of each of their staff is remarkable.
March 2023
My mom has been at Atria Woodlands for a little over two years now; first in AL and now in Life Guidance. I can only say that our experience here has only gotten better and better. The Life Guidance, especially, is far superior to some others that we've looked at. The staff is very caring and really knows the residents individually, their needs and preferences, etc. The activities are great, as well as the new activities director. My mom used to just want to sit in her room all the time, and now she is involved in many activities and has made friends. The care is also very good. It gives me such peace of mind to have my mom at such a wonderful place! also also very high q

My tour was purely informational & Suzanne couldn't have been more helpful! The property was lovely, as were the 3 different residences she showed me. If/when the situation arises, this would be a first call.
February 2023
Our 94 year old mother started in Independent Living at the Atria Woodlands three years ago and just moved into the Assisted Living building. We couldn’t be more pleased with Atria Woodlands and neither could our mom. Fabulous staff, lovely residents, bright and cheerful apartment. We sleep well knowing she is safe and that she is getting great care and attention. No one could have prepared us for this stage of her life, but the Atria Woodlands is helping us deal and cope with it and ensure that she is comfortable and superbly taken care of.
January 2023
Everything about Atria woodlands has been a wonderful experience so far. The entire staff has been welcoming from day one. The environment at Atria Woodlands is always inviting, warm and friendly. I would highly recommend Atria Woodlands for anyone looking for a senior community for a loved one.
January 2023
My parents moved to Atria Woodlands together in June 2019. In the 3 years they lived there together until my father passed away 4 months ago the facility went through 3 changes of directors, and it was not difficult to figure out why. Just prior to my father's passing Rob Tennant took over as director. Rob is a big part of why my family and my mother ultimately decided to stay at Atria. Simply, HE GETS IT. Emails are returned promptly. Concerns are addressed thoughtfully. There are more gatherings for family members and communication lines are open. Rob helped to make a very sad and stressful transition for my mother as smooth and easy as possible. Give that man a raise!!
January 2023
I can't say enough good things about Atria Woodlands. We had to somewhat abruptly move my reluctant parents to an independent living community after a variety of issues made it difficult for them to manage on their own in their house. Rob Tennant and his team helped us to quickly navigate the move and helped to transition their two bedroom apartment into a comfortable, welcoming home for them. More importantly, once they arrived my parents were delightfully surprised at the accommodations and services. The food is amazing and Chef B, her assistant chef and all of the servers have made my parents feel right at home in the beautiful dining room and they accommodate them in every way possible. The events and services are also top notch with programs that are well thought out and instructors/speakers who are truly engaging. Rob, the Executive Director, who we learned had only recently joined, has made a significant impact and has created an environment where my parents are happy, safe and well cared for with a staff who is hands on, welcoming and accommodating. We couldn't be happier and look forward to seeing how Atria Woodlands continues to transform for the better under Rob's guidance and expertise.
November 2022
My wife and I moved her father into the Atria Woodlands a few days ago. Everyone has been very helpful and friendly. Our salesman, Jan Unger, has gone above and beyond his job and was very helpful in answering any questions we had and ensured that my father in law was comfortable and that he settled in well. The apartment is lovely and the building, in general, seems to be clean and well taken care of.

Mom's been here for almost 8 months, and it seems like it's one problem after another. Since COVID restrictions have lifted, there are a lot of new residents, and it seems she has gone by the wayside. I've been VERY involved in her care and with communicating with the staff, but new problems always seem to arise. There's also been a lot of staff turnover, and it seems that nothing carries over from former to current staff.

Atria Woodlands is a blessing for both my mother and my entire family. I am the daughter of a current resident and have been very happy for almost two years now. Most importantly, my sister and I have peace of mind that our mother is being well taken care of.

Just want to give a huge Thankyou to Debbie ,AKA my Angel, and her team in Life Guidance . I was getting so anxious not being to hug, hold and smooch my dad since March 2020. (unless he was hospitalized) A real torture for my My Mom and I .But, Debbie, she fills my shoes with Papa, while I cant and we text pretty much daily. He is at arms reach of us, but still so far. But its not about me....I know he is being kept safe, hes clean, hes fed and very protected. For this I am so grateful.

I love it here. I have lived in independent living for three years and have made wonderful friends who are almost like family. I love the staff here. I love using the art studio and paint anytime I want!

Following a hospital stay and rehab, I brought my 84 year old father here to live so hed be close by to us. I have only wonderful things to say about the facility (from what I was able to see due to COVID) — its clean and inviting - and staff, who are so caring, accommodating and go above and beyond for the residents. Special shout out to Rosanne and Brooke!!

I am happy to say that my experience with everyone at Atria has been excellent, especially in this extremely difficult time of COVID-19. The buildings have everything needed for a senior active lifestyle and are well maintained for cleanliness. The staff has been very friendly and surprisingly very warm and loving for my Mom; and having the experience of eating there myself, I have found the food and the choice of food to be excellent.

Atria Woodlands is an amazing community to work at. The staff, residents and families are all so friendly. It truly feels like my home away from home. Look forward to each new day when I walk into the building!

My Father IN Law spent 5 years at Atria Woodlands and he had wonderful experience. Warm and kind staff. He made friends with the entire community.
January 2021
Over the last year I have had to move my parents between three different facilites in Westchester. The first place was very disorganized and I found myself becoming a defacto manager of nursing, food and services for my parents ---it made me so angry. The second place seemed good until I discovered that dozens and dozens of residents had asymptomatic covid -- including both of my parents! I finally made the perfect decision taking them to Atria Woodlands. From Day One, the place was on top of everything, and the kindness and 1:1 has been unbelievable. Lauren and her team run a tight ship with incredible compassion. Run, dont walk, to put your parents in this place.
January 2021
I toured this community with an eye towards bringing my mom up from Florida. I was impressed with the attentiveness and friendliness of the executives and staff, the homey atmosphere, and the accommodations. Hope it will work out for me. What a great option.

A dear family friend has been a resident at Atria Woodlands for almost 2 years. She couldnt be happier. She receives wonderful attention, very much enjoys the food and enjoys the activities (when its not during Covid). I can share with you that the administrative staff has been wonderful to me. They are extremely caring , compassionate and are very dedicated to their residents and the residents families. We have been kept very well informed of all information during the Covid virus outbreak. I couldnt say enough about Atria Woodlands and the wonderful people who care for our friend.

What a wonderful community! During my tour I couldnt help but notice the attention to detail on all levels. The staff was friendly and sharp. The environment well appointed and clean. Walked away feeling very comfortable with their options.
May 2020
Wonderful, friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to engage the residents in meaningful activities. The building is well maintained and there is a wide variety of activities for the residents.
April 2020
My mother is in the memory care unit at Atria. I have read through some of the reviews, which I find to be accurate. The initial attention is incredible. Its as if there is this team of people who are going to provide personalized care for your loved one. Especially in the beginning, I would regularly get updates as to how she was doing, activities, how she ate, etc. However, that does die down over time and, even though I actively visit and take her out, any input I received is now at my prompting. There are number of activities listed on the calendar to attend throughout the day at Atria, however my mother does not have access to many of them due to being on the life guidance floor. She enjoys the food and the staff is always kind and attentive when I am there. For the cost of living at Atria, there are a couple of things that are not included which I find odd that I do not think would cost much and only add to the quality of life. have to state clearly that the main, if not only, reason my mother is still at Atria is because of the director of her floor, LUCY. Lucy has continued to check in with me about my mother, when visitors come, andhergeneralmood-functioning. Lucy is a priceless addition to life guidance. Knowing some one cares so much that she will contact me without prompting or prodding is incredible and allows me to sleep at night knowing my mother is safe and cared for. She will also talk to my mother and bring her with her throughout the building so she can get out a bit and socialize moreucys 2 days off may be rest for her but its the only time of the week I feel as though I have lost a great resource and a connection to my mom when Im not there.

The Atria - Woodlands has been a great home for my Mom. She has been a resident of the independent living area and is now a resident of the assisted living facility. The staff has always been exceptionally caring and professional. They make The Atria feel like it's really her home. We'd like to especially thank Sandra McNeish, Claudette Witter, April Williams for being there!

Atria Woodlands is a warm and social community. I have enjoyed living here for three years, have made good friends and feel that all the employees care about my well- being. I truly appreciate the staff as well as the residents. Robert Dejesus: Handsome, well dressed, infectious smile! No problem is too difficult to discuss or to try and resolve. Since he set foot behind the Front Desk, he brings a smile to the faces of everyone that passes by. He is always ready and willing to assist the residents. Just mention the name "Robert" and we feel secure and thankful for his presence.

- Schedule a tour and visit the physical location to make sure community description is accurate.
- Confirm with community manager that living and services required for you or your loved one's unique needs and budget are met.
- Check with state government websites for additional provider licensing and information.

Assisted Living Center uses the term "assisted living" or "personal care" to inform users that a community provides assistance with some Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). It may not meet your state's legal definition required for that level of care.
