I have been at Peregrine Shaker for 2 1/2 years and intend to stay here. I visited 3 other facilities before selecting Peregrine. The administrators, department heads, wellness staff, caregivers and maintenance staff are top notch. They are always available. Our reasonable requests are fulfilled as soon as possible and others are eventually satisfied. There are so many different activities available to us both in house or outside. Taxi service is available for medical and other appointments. The interior and exterior are very clean and maintained in a timely manner.

I can unequivocally recommend Peregrine Shaker. My mother was in the memory care unit and every one in my family felt that she got excellent care. I visited her dozens and dozens of times and without exception the staff was always kind, compassionate and professional. Everyone from my 9 year old son to my 80 something aunt visited and we all feel the same. Thank you Peregrine Shaker.

I moved my mom to Peregrine Shaker late last year -- and the entire search for the right place, the move, the concerns about adjusting.. were so stressful on both of us - but it was absolutely 100% the right decision. A lot of the staff have been there for years (which makes a difference to me, her last home had a really high staff turnover) - and they are all lovely and caring and helpful. Logistically it's great for us as it's so close to St. Peter's medical facilities. They have a visiting PCP whom my mom loves. Since she's been there... I feel like she's gotten healthier - because *stress levels have dropped*. She has fun with the daily activities, she feels safe and supported. And... I bring my dog there all the time, very dog friendly place 🙂 I'm truly glad we found a good home. Thank you.

Outstanding Assisted Living for my brother until he required skilled nursing. ALL the staff became extended family. Administrators were always available for me. The food great. The care wonderful. When my brother moved from independent to memory care, the transition was seamless and staff wonderful. The day he had to move to another facility for skilled nursing was difficult for me and good byes were hard....these folks really care and i'd grown fond of them all. I will miss them. Don't hesitate to have your loved one move here...you won't be sorry.

My mom lost my dad and we moved her into Peregrine so she would not be alone. It took a bit to adjust but it was the best decision we have made. She is very social and needed that outlet. We needed to be sure she was getting her meds and that is all done for her with out worry. Mom is so happy and has a lot of new friends. We highly recommend!

I couldn't imagine my mom living anywhere else. The Director and Staff are wonderful. My mom often comments on how friendly and kind everyone is. I sleep well at night knowing that my mother's needs are being met with the utmost care by very capable, conscientious people. I highly recommend Peregrine Shaker.

Thank you to Jennifer Zacharek and her team at the Atria Shaker! These are trying times for all of us but we just have to hang in there. They have supported the residents & prevented Covid from entering the building! They should be commended for their diligence. My Mom has been a resident at Atria Shaker since November 2019. It has been a positive experience from the beginning. The staff was wonderful - helpful, friendly, professional. It's a beautiful building, very clean, lovely dining room, social areas, and easy to get around. There are numerous activities every day - something for everyone. And it gave us a sense of peace to know that there were staff checking up on her throughout the day - while also giving her privacy and dignity. Community meals in the dining room provided important socialization, and were varied and healthy. Since early March when the pandemic hit New York Atria Shaker went into quarantine immediately. We felt reassured and secure, knowing that she was in a safe place where they were following CDC guidelines, protocol, and taking every precaution. The executive director, Jennifer Zacharek was incredible; sending out regular emails/newsletters to let us know exactly what was going on - and why. This kind of transparency was greatly appreciated. She and the staff brought three meals each day to the residents in their rooms - delivered along with friendly conversation. Those small and meaningful touches mean a lot. Our Mom feels very safe and cared for - and this gives us great comfort. (and they have an app which gives daily updates, too) I would recommend Atria Shaker for anyone looking for an assistive living facility that's stimulating, supportive, and friendly.

My family is very grateful to the Atria staff. The team here from the Executive Director down has positively impacted our mothers life beyond anything we could have imagined in the past 6 months. They even got her to point in her life to where she traveled on a plane by herself to see family. I wouldnt have fathomed this 6 months ago. My Mom has such a better quality of life because of the team at the Atria. I highly recommend the Atria if you are looking to provide a loved one with a better quality of life due to what ever it is they ha e faced or a facing. I would like to specifically recognize Lori Horn, Christine Byrnes, Jennifer Zacharek, and Rachel Mandel!

I liked it so much I would choose it for myself, if I could stay in the Albany area. I've very sick and need assisted living, but I have to move to where my family is, and they live out of the area. I liked that I was there around 4pm, and lots of people were hanging out in the lobby. They had sing-alongs, bible studies, and a shuffleboard court in the back. I liked a lot of the other activities they offered too They'll let you keep a cat, because I have one. The rooms are small, but I have seen smaller on the Assisted Living Circut. I'd live here, because it seemed like a happy atmosphere, with the kind of activities I would like.

As next of kin, HCP and POA, I am very involved in my Aunt's care. I am so glad that I chose Atria Shaker and their Life Guidance unit. All of her needs, are met by Karen and her professional and caring staff. My family and I are so thankful for the kindness and effective care given by Angela on the day shift. We call her Aunt's Angel, and indeed she fills that role. People with dementia and Alz. present unique challenges and she always rises to the occasion.
